Don't bother!

Bought a HSB110 from Halfords in December 2022 and now, not even 2 years later, it refuses to hold charge. Took it back for a refund and Halfords won't replace/refund because the machine they test it with is rejecting a warranty claim, so I have a very heavy £120 paper weight. Advice from the store was that the vehicle is draining the battery, but the longest it was left was a couple of weeks over the summer - same car, same conditions and an older Varta battery has had no problems at all, and no sign of a drain when checking the car with a meter.

I've had plenty of Yuasa batteries over the years and although a few have failed (to be expected when they were a lifetime warranty) I have had no problem in getting them replaced before. They no longer do the lifetime warranties and I've been told by Halfords staff the number of warranty returns was the reason.

Next time I need a new battery it'll be a Bosch or Varta.

Yuasa YTZ10S FOR T Max

Motorcycle battery, dies in 1 year, neither the workshop nor the manufacturer nor the distributor take responsibility, I think it's illegal. But you don't have time and you buy a new one, yes, from a different brand. The previous brand I used was JMT batteries and it lasted me 7 years, in my Yamaha T Max.

Yuasa YBX5019 Silver

Purchased Yuasa YBX5019 Silver, with a 5 year warranty? Lasted just under 4 years....and of course supplier not interested told to deal with Yuasa direct? Yuasa said it's supplier issue!
So in other words sling your hook.
5 year warranty not worth the paper it's written on.
I won't be buying a replacement from Yuasa or supplier ever again.

Yuasa HSB005 don't be taken in!

I bought a Yuasa HSB005 with a 5 year warranty from Halfords around 19 months ago, and it seemed fine in relatively warm weather. As soo as the Mercury approached 0°C the battery was completely dead in the morning.i recharged using quality machines, reinstall and again fine until te temperature goes down. I took back to Halfords, who 'tested' the battery using a device provided by the manufacturer, which said the battery was fine and just required recharging. Just prior to taking it back it had been charged to its maximum capacity, with only a half hour drive (alternator fully operational). Was jumpstarting the next day and a neighbour walked by, he has the same model recently purchased and goes flat overnight! Don't be taken in with the 5 year wtty!!

Reliable

I've put Yuasa batteries on cars I've had in the past and they're very reliable. I contacted Yuasa today Regarding the battery on my mk2 Agila as I wasn't sure how old it was, They responded promptly and politely and we're very helpful. It gave me peace of mind to know that my battery is fairly new so thankfully no worries about it's reliability! thanks very much. Highly recommended!

Halfords fitted a new Yuasa battery 10…

Halfords fitted a new Yuasa battery 10 months ago and it failed last night. Am having it replaced this morning which has cost me a day being unable to work. Will try to get a refund from Halfords but having read these reviews I’m not hopeful. Will make sure I NEVER let anyone fit another Yuasa battery in any of my vehicles again.

Yuasa L35-100. What a battery

I have had the same Yuasa L35-100 in my boat (use it to start the engine) for so many years now, I can't recall when I purchased it. It is easily 8 to ten years ago. Prior to that I was changing the battery every second year. On occasion I have mistakenly left it in the boat over the winter and it always turns the engine over. I have just taken it out of the boat after five months to trickle charge it (even though it is indicating that it is full) and after five minutes my charger is indicating that the battery is full. I have had absolutely zero issues with this battery and it looks as if it going to outlast me. If I does ever fail me I will definitely replace it with another one. In my experience, a fantastic battery. Tom.

My experience with Yuasa has been positive

My experience with Yuasa has so far been excellent. Halfords refused to honour the 5 year warranty on a faulty battery. Yuasa went above and beyond to resolve the problem directly despite the responsibility being with Halfords. I cannot fault Yuasa. I can see 1 star reviews which name Halfords, this is where the issue lies. Yes the warranty is on a Yuasa product but if you speak to Yuasa they explain and try to resolve issues.
I'm waiting for a replacement battery from Yuasa but I trust that they will follow through with their excellent customer service and I'll receive the battery soon.

Rubbish

The word around the Trade is that these are good, my experience is that they are significantly worse than budget batteries, I have tipped two recently, and I have 2 more on the way out, one of which was only just over 12 months old. Don't waste your money.

Yuasa won’t honour their warranty

As per most of the other reviews here, the Yuasa battery guarantee is not worth the paper it’s printed on, they simply don’t honour it. I had a battery failed after less than 18 months, Halfords won’t replace it under warranty highlighting the manufacturer’s policy. What a waste of money, wish I’d gone for a proper battery company like Bosch instead of these cowboys.

Waste of money and feeling robbed.

I bought a Heavy Duty battery which was delivered and fitted on 08 Jun 23. The battery was used regularly on my vehicle until 01 Aug 23 when it just lost power and was not able to start my vehicle.

I called my local mobile mechanic out to assist, and he confirmed the battery was totally flat with no sign of life.

I contacted Amazon who were not able to help but had me contact the sales team at bmstechnologies.

Long story short, absolute waste of time, they would not accept my battery back and instructed me to go to a Halford's or Vehicle electrics Factor to have the battery tested.

Having replaced the battery, I don't have the time or inclination to go humping a battery around Factors to confirm the battery is dead.

I will not ever use Yuasa battery as this is a disgrace that they will not have a return to them. I'm also highly critical that Amazon have fobbed me off when they were the supplier who I bought the battery from but would not take any responsibility for the sale.

Money and confidence lost, beware when dealing with Yuasa / bms technologies.co.uk

I put a 70ah Yuasa battery in 2017

I put a 70ah Yuasa battery in my 1.9 TDI in March 2017. Great powerful starter. It's now end of October 2023 so 6-1/2 years later still working fine but starting to struggle on cold frosty mornings. That's over 6 years good service. Good battery in my experience and cheap I paid 65 pounds for it in 2017

One star is one too many

Wrote a review in January about failed Yuasa battery and how garage changed it under warranty to another of same make and model. Surprise, surprise, this one has now also failed. Car was checked for battery drains and it is OK. £200 down the drain. Have now fitted a Varta and put it down to awful experience, as stuck at airport car park with dud battery.

Premature battery failure

Battery failed prematurely 2 months past warranty. Retailer referred me to Yuasa. Previous Banner battery lasted 12 years. Yuasa NOT INTERESTED. They state it should have lasted longer but then say too many external factors can cause battery failure so say they are not responsible go back to retailer . No change in cars use or conditions when garaged. DO NOT BUY - BUYER BEWARE
