I’m a bike repair workshop owner/head mechanic and have recently had an excellent experience with Zed. One of my customers has been happily riding their brilliant and cost friendly Carbon Elite wheelset for years. When it came to sourcing specific parts for the hubs which aren’t even being used any more, Zed were extremely helpful and have supplied the parts needed to extend the life of the wheels! This is great for the rider and for a local business such as myself. Would definitely recommend on both quality of product and helpfulness of their team. Cheers again guys
I've been really pleased with the wheels so far, after a few rides.
They're light and feel well built.
My only issue was that they took a long time to arrive, there was a shipping and supplier issue, however their communication was good and once I let them know when I needed the wheels for, they actually upgraded the wheels and hubs to get them to me in time for racing, this more than made up for the delay.
Overall please with the wheels and my experience.
A little issue at the start involving a mix up between my own and another customers wheels which was rectified rapidly.
Once the wheels arrived there was a slight issue with the free hub. Lee was extremely helpful; talking me through multiple fault-finding steps before eventually (read within 2 days) sending a replacement free hub which rectified the issue.
Having now had the wheels fitted and ridden for a couple of months, I have to say they’re brilliant! My previous wheels were a set of Zipp 404 Firecrests and these are definitely comparable in terms of ride feel and I think slightly ahead in terms of aesthetics.
Will definitely buy more wheels from Zed when the need inevitably arises in future for another bike.
So far all good.
I have quite a few sets of Carbon wheels (Most are Hunt) and some are much better than others. Having a set of Scribe wheels that failed on me and the response from Scribe was rubbish I thought it time to try someone else. I live in France and contacted Zed about a week before heading back to the UK. Response was really quick, the pulled the build out of a hat and got the wheels ready for me to pick up in the UK when I went back for a few weeks. So far so good. They have been under me on my Ti winter bike for the last 1000 plus miles and they seem absolutely fine. True and straight, bearings and free hub all fine. I cant honestly say if they are better than Hunt or others at this stage. They are lighter and cheaper than Hunt. These two factors along with the fact that they are a fine set of wheels so far are making me think of buying a second set. thanks Lee. All good so far.
Asked a few questions before ordering....quick response. Ordered carbon gravel wheels and asked for quick delivery and they arrived bang on time. Wheels look great and are the exact weight advertised.
Brilliant value for money.
Order arrived on time and they were 200g below quoted weight. 👍
Great wheels. Good customer service and communication. I had an issue with a rim and it was fixed - Lee and Susannah kept me in the loop and were flexible with collection and delivery locations. Thanks.
Initially all seem well.
Lee was very friendly in helping me place the order.
However the rear wheel failed and i've now been without a wheel for 2 months!
Lee's lack of empthy and the fact he will not tell me when i might expect a replacement wheel is concerning and shows they really do not care for their customers!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, If the wheels do ever fail as mine did, they are a truly horrible company to deal with. No way to contact them other than email, and they tend to ignore them...

I am now onto my second set of ZED's having had my first set for over two years and 7500 miles - they are still going strong.
I am very pleased with the quality of the wheels I have received, and their communication, and have also been confident to recommended them to my cycling club friends, several who have also bought their own ZED's and are really pleased
The wheels are superb, after 400 miles a spoke jumped and I had to return them to Zed but thankfully their after sales service is as good quality as the wheels! Fixed and returned inside the week, I’m impressed!
I was really happy with my Zed wheels until the rear wheel deformed while pumping it up (doesn't seem to be an isolated case). No problem though as it was covered by warranty. I took the wheel into the workshop 3 months ago and still haven't had it back. No ETA given yet so am left wondering if I'll ever see it again?
UPDATE. In fairness the offer of a loan wheel only came after I requested it 3 months after my wheel had broken, I only rejected it on the basis you informed me my wheel would be back within a few weeks so perhaps a slightly disingenuous offer. Anyway, the wheel is finally back, working perfectly so hopefully there won't be a need for it to come back for repair again.

Just received my new ZED bike wheels. Communication from Susannah from point of ordering to me receiving the wheels has been excellent. I’m delighted with the quality & price of the wheels. Recommended!
I've wanted a pair of Zed wheels for years, their reputation for performance lightweight hand built wheels preceded them! When my current wheels were in for repair I had no back up & it seemed a good opportunity. I had the pleasure of meeting Lee & Susanna in person, great to put a face to the brand, not something you get with big manufacturers. The wheels themselves are off the scale in terms of quality and performance, I raced them last night and narrowly missed a win, but won a bunch sprint for second. Zed went the extra mile for me in building the wheels incredibly fast but with no compromise, I highly recommend Zed who are passionate about providing great customer service, providing tailor made wheels using the best materials in producing wheels that are unlike anything I've ridden before. I'll not be looking elsewhere for the next wheel set!
Absolute disgrace.
I chose them over other brands to support a UK local family-owned business.
I got a set of 50mm deep section road wheels, with an additional £67 crash replacement, thinking my warranty would be bulletproof. However, after a year and a half and about 5000 km of use, the rear wheel's carbon exploded while my bike was hanging on the wall. The tire pressure was at the recommended 80 psi, which was nothing crazy at all.
I contacted them about this situation, and they never got back to me.

I ordered a wheelset from zedbikewheels in Jul 23, as with many of the experiences listed on here the initial engagement was great (which makes what happened later all the more frustrating), they turned up around a month later.
The wheels were sent with an incorrect freehub which took a few weeks to sort owing to them not responding to emails but it was eventually sorted. In all fairness to Zed the original wheels looked pretty smart.
Because of the freehub issue and being away with work I didn’t get chance to set these up for over a month (importantly outside the 30 day guaranteed returns period).
On setting up the wheel tubeless, seating the tyre and leaving it for about a minute at 50psi the carbon rim cracked in half, obviously this sent the tyre off and sealant everywhere. The wheel rim had cracked around its entire circumference- clearly an issue with the carbon layup of the wheel.
Zedbikewheels ignored all emails, website messages and calls for around a month to the point I was in the process of reclaiming the money on my credit card. Eventually they had me send the wheels back on the understanding I would be issued a refund, however, on chasing said refund they then said as it was outside of 30 days I’d get a replacement wheelset instead (frustrating and terrible service but within the law).
After 3 months and 5 months since the first set failed, some new wheels turned up at the house with no warning (I’d chased them repeatedly in this time but got no reply). Wheels were completely different from the set I ordered and looked significantly lower in quality to the first set I received I immediately sent them back.
Again I had to raise a claim through my credit card, which was upheld. All the time Zedbikewheels were unco-operative, suggested I should only get half the money back as it was only 1 wheel of the 2 that failed (from my credit card not them) and it culminated in a ‘report’ that was written by them suggesting I was at fault and actually I wasn’t entitled to anything, it contained a number of photos of a wheel that had clearly been tampered with from the defective wheels I sent back.
Ultimately just buy a pair of Hunts, Vels, Primes, etc they’re cheaper, and no doubt use components knocked up in the same factory. The difference is if something goes wrong you won’t have to deal with a disingenuous setup such as these.
I’d been keen to support a small wheel builder local to me, as I’m sure you are if you’re thinking of buying from them, but the owners Lee and Susannah simply do not deserve your support.
*on Zedbikewheels reply. As stated above this is no longer under review by my bank, the claim has been upheld in my favour, I posted this following receiving the money back. Part of this decision was the length of time you took to reply and the fact they waited 2 months to receive your feedback.

The reviews on here made me extremely nervous over the purchase of my wheels and to be fair I gave Zed wheels a hard time because of this.
Ultimately, the build and delivery time was just shy of 2 weeks, Zed have been nothing but polite and professional, the wheels arrived today and are far better than I envisaged. Really look forward to trying them tomorrow.
Chances are that I will order another set but won’t pester them as I have no concerns and neither should you. Thanks Zed and apologies.
Ordered a 35mm Carbon Discs that were on clearance. Specified QR in the details. A week later Lee emailed to tell me that the hubs on the clearance wheelset Zi had ordered were not suitable for QR, but he could use a different hub which was lighter or I could have a full refund. I opted for the lighter hub. I requested TA end caps to make them future proof for use on other bikes. Wheels were delivered 2 weeks after ordering, but without the TA end caps. A few emails later I received TA end caps in the post. Now fitted to my wife's new bike (plans changed after all) they've reduced the overall weight by 900 grams compared with the manufacturer supplied set. So far they have only been used for a short 12km shakedown ride, no complaints so far, they run true and are light. My only gripe would be communication, there is still room for improvement, but I do understand that with such a small workforce it's not always possible to reply immediately. Overall I would order from again.
Firstly these are great wheels hand built and really super light, my rim brake wheelset also came with ceramic bearings but I wanted to change the freehub. Despite being really busy Lee squeezed me in the same day as I was driving back from Yorkshire to supply me the new SRAM freehub. And we got talking about building bespoke wheels for my hill climb bike, which has given me some ideas for the future build… a cyclist and a top guy!
i have been riding bikes with handbuilt wheels for over 50 years and trust me these wheels are as good as any i had built. The customer service was first class ,so go ahead and use a small homegrown business .
I bought some carbon wheels a couple of years ago and managed to damage them in the garage during winter ? Messaged Zed wheels expecting to pay for a repair. Susannah messaged me back promptly to say if I paid the postage fee of £24 the repair would be free of charge which was totally unexpected and a great bit of customer service ! The only hick up I had was replying to myself rather than Susannah and wondering why I’d had no reply lol. Sent them back and labelled as required. Then got a message from Susannah to say the wheel had been received. Next day a message from Lee, I assume the technician repairing the wheel to tell me what had been done and he was posting the wheel back to me. Next day the wheel arrived all repaired and best of all FREE OF CHARGE!!! And all in less than a week, Thanks guys couldn’t ask for more 😁
