The tracking feature on this app appears to be completely unsuited to commercial vehicles, rural driving, or anything outside standard urban commuting patterns.
I drive a pickup truck with a trailer and regularly carry several tonnes for work. My driving involves country roads, rural areas, multiple site visits, frequent stopping and starting, and handling heavy loads safely. Because of the nature of my work, I have to drive extremely carefully. I’ve been driving for over 30 years, with more than 10 years’ no-claims bonus, yet this app constantly tells me my driving “needs improvement.”
The system appears incapable of understanding real-world commercial driving conditions. Heavy loads naturally affect braking distances and stopping patterns, especially on country lanes and uneven rural roads. Despite driving cautiously, the app repeatedly reports that I’m speeding or braking too hard when I’m not.
What makes it worse is how inaccurate and contradictory the reporting can be. I’ve only had the app for a week, yet it claims my “phone distraction” score needs improvement - despite the fact my phone stays in the glove box for every journey. On days where I’ve only done two short 20-minute school runs and the vehicle has been parked at home the rest of the day, it still reports that my “rest breaks” need improvement. It also flags speeding and harsh braking while I’m driving as carefully as possible through residential streets.
The result is an extremely stressful driving experience. I now spend more time worrying about the app than focusing naturally on the road. I find myself driving in fear of going even 1 mph over the limit, with queues of traffic building up behind me because the app punishes normal driving flow. In all honesty, the stress and distraction caused by constantly monitoring scores feels more dangerous than the driving itself.
What concerns me most is that they state your policy could be cancelled if your driving score falls below their required standard. That would seriously affect someone’s ability to get insured elsewhere. I chose Zego because I drive a highly theft-prone vehicle and it initially seemed like the best option financially, Im also confident I’m a safe and competent driver so was comfortable with being tracked. I’ll now be cancelling and paying extra for insurance elsewhere. The constant anxiety simply is not worth it.

They can’t be reached directly. AI took over everything. No real human response to e mails, it’s always the generic AI response. Sick!!

Zego was a good solution for me as a fresh driver. It uses telematic system while I could check my driving progress on the app daily, to improve driving habits. After one year of compliance with driving rules, my monthly payment decreased significantly. Within past year, customer service was very good and accessible.

been with them for more than 3consecative years. and the quote i get fir renewal is horrifying shocked me off. in spite of using the zego sense app and maintaining a good average score of 96% quoted me more than a grand extra from the previous year. this business is now settled and don't care for customers prospective
please see if your using the zego sense app stop the policy. better get policy from some other dealers.
