I would not recommend this product
I would not recommend this product. The filters are expensive and do no last long. They are difficult to screw into the pitcher. I was unable to recycle them despite the company stating they are a class 5 plastic. Furthermore they lack a recycling symbol on them.
As soon as the filter was starting to be less effective, the water had a horrible taste. It was undrinkable at this point after barely 2 weeks of use in a 2 person household.
Definitely not worth the money!

Does not deserve even a single star. Absolute waste of an oap's money. £150+ wasted on jug and filters. None of the filters lasted more than few days with worst possible taste can't get refund because these cowboys are no more in business in UK. Don't even think of going near there products.
They’re quick to take payment but don’t deliver on time.
I ordered online and the soonest I could get delivery was an hour away. I ordered it and drove to the staples where it was to be delivered on the day they said. It wasn’t delivered and wouldn’t be for a week. I cannot drink the water here without filtering it, and since they took the money out of my account as soon as I ordered it, I cannot get my money back to order another somewhere else. I will never do this again and will get a different system.
Think carefully
Think carefully.
Long-term user who has now sadly learned the error of my ways.
You buy these filters in advance of usage with an enticing offer of increasing discounts offering an incentive to stock up.
There is an inherent risk in this.
They pre-soak the filters and seal them wet and they can develop bad tasting water even though they measure “Zero”. You will of course only discover this at some time in the future when you open and use the cartridge.
If however your cartridges turn out to be faulty and you contact them they will only consider a refund if you find the fault within 30 days of purchase.
I have over £150 worth of rubbish filters because I didn’t know that they only guarantee the filters for 30 days FROM PURCHASE. They of course know that their customers will not unseal ALL of their new filters within 30 days and so they essentially do not offer any practical guarantee. They know this but of course it would never occur to a customer - except when they find some duds.
I do not call this integrity, so be aware.
I bought the 2.4l version, very good
I bought the 2.4l version, and so far good, would have liked a better lid.
The filter system works fast, I think the filters are a bit on the high price, that's the only let down, but if you're getting the better water quality, life and health will be better for sure...
I stand corrected.
I stand corrected. After the frustrating experience I described below, I thought "well, she didn't say how long to run warm water over the top of the filter." I did it for a few minutes and it didn't help. So later today I thought I'd try turning the filter upside down and letting it sit in a bowl of water for a few hours. Just tried it and it's not leaking! Yay!
Probably doesn't have to be that long. But if they had told me that the first time I called or the second time I called, it would have saved me a lot of time and them some money.
Original one-star review: I've had my ZeoWater filter pitcher for years and love it. I recently ordered 2 replacements filters on Amazon. Both leaked (the water drips outside the filter directly into the pitcher). I called ZeroWater to see what I was doing wrong. They sent me two replacements. I should have returned them to Amazon -- would have gotten my money back. Instead, I waited for the two from ZeroWater. Once does the same. The second -- I can't get the stupid glued cheap plastic cover off it. I called Zero Water again. She suggested I run warm water over the top of the first to remove any glue residue. I did. Leaked even more. I asked why they did this -- the response: it's to reduce plastic in the landfill by so many whatever (as she read on and on their rote response). I said I paid $12-$15 to send 3 filters back to them for recycling. I'm not paying any more to recycle these two. So they will end up in the landfill. Sort of defeats the purpose of replacing the old lids with this covering. Now I'm looking for a new water pitcher.
Zero water has changed their hard…
Zero water has changed their hard plastic covering the filter to a cheap plastic cover. When you pull the black cheap plastic off which is difficult by the way a lot of it gets left on the rim of the filter and I find it hard to get off. I have to scrape it off with a knife and what's left messes with the fitting. Can you please go back to the original screw one .
Problematic filters, no ability to recoup the money
1/12/2026 UPDATE:
After I posted this review, I went to the Culligan/zero water customer service site looking for an email address. Which I found and I in essence posted my review to customer service.
They actually responded back to me, apologized and sent me two new filters which arrived today. Right now I feel as though customer service was given, and I’m happy with the outcome.
I purchased zero water because I trusted Culligan. I liked that it advertised particular removal and taste improvement. The first filter I had which was included in a box that I bought the countertop container worked fine. I was very happy although I did think it lasted less than a month and I’m one person.
I purchased a pack of two replacement filters paid a little bit more than $40 total and neither one of them perform like the first. I followed all troubleshooting suggestions from Culligan and zero Water sites. I submerged it for 15 minutes totally to try to get air out of both in the event that there was air because that was suggested. I rinsed and re-soaked refilled, and still had the same taste of carbon or metallic.
The filter gauge attached to the countertop dispenser said 000 for both filters after both problem-solving. It’s still tasted awful.
Never thought to be more prudent in looking for a guarantee or warranty, but I was told there’s a 30 day guarantee for the filters, but you have to have your receipt.
I should’ve just stuck with Brita.
Expensive filters last only a week
Listen to all of the other reviews. First filter lasted 3 weeks, it is now down to one filter a week. I live alone and drink 24 oz per day. At 27ppm the water tastes terrible. I will use up the rest of the filters and toss the large capacity tank I purchased.
Going back to Lifestraw
Plastic seal vs blue cap
The replacement filters used to come with a blue cap on top. Now it comes with a plastic seal. This is so hard to get off and leaves plastic particles in the top of the filters. It has taken me about 10 minutes to remove most of it. I can’t get it totally off. Please go back to blue caps. Much easier and cleaner to remove.
Good product, but poor filtering system
Although the product is good and convenient I am finding the filters are not as good as they used to be. They stop filtering after a week, despite the meter reading being fine. They said to tap the filter to release the air, and tighten the connections, which I’ve done numerous times, but the water is still not filtering through. I’m considering trying a different system as the filters are not cheap.
Filters don't last long
I live alone and drink approx 1.5-1.8 litres per day after 2 weeks water has a distinctly unpleasant taste. The TDS meter reading is 001, so should be okay to use. This now seems to be a constant problem with these filters. I've been using zero for a few years. I'm sure they are now made to last a lot less than before.
I'll buy a table top reverse osmosis device & ditch ZeroWater
Well I should have listened to the recent reviews!
Well I should have listened to the recent reviews. The filter lasted 2 weeks. It’s very expensive, it went up on price. I’ve been using zero water for a few years, I have never come across this problem before. Before it would last about 2months. They are trying to make more money, but actually they’re going to lose customers. I am currently looking for new options. I feel cheated.
Zero Customer Care
I would give a BIG Zero stars if i could. This company is horrible. I bought the Extreme Life filter that attaches to your sink faucet. It cost me 80 dollars. Before my filter needs replacement I thought I will order some more filters. The product is already discontinued without notice and now I am stuck with this product. What a waste of money. I called customer service and they don't care at all and wouldnt even offer to replace it with one of their cheap pitchers or other product. This is a horrible company. I will never purchase anything from this company again.
What a very bad experience.. Zero stars.. and certainly Zero Customer Appreciation.
Incredible Company
Paul, from customer service, turned a somewhat disappointing experience into a phenomenal experience. Absolutely incredible company, I would rate this 10 out of five stories if I could.
I do not recommend
In the summer, I had to change the filter every week. After that, the water smelled fishy and was bitter. My water was very expensive. I highly recommend it. I invested in reverse osmosis water
Installing the filter
I am glad for the first time in a good year the 2 pak box of replacement filters had screw off lids.. in the past the ones where you manully take those glued papers covers off, it was hard to get the glue off around the top of the filter which would cause them to leak., I had to return several because of those types of enclosure tops because the glue wouldn’t come off.. then they leaked. Thank you much if you continue to use the screw on lids.. I almost bought another type pitcher because of that, thankfully these were screw off lids which doesn’t leave sticky residue., Marsha S
Great product
Great product! Much better than the filter I had before
This last redesign of the top cover is beyond difficult to use.
The filter is good - the water pitcher is useless! Ridiculous design the top is hard to put on and take off . There is zero good about it. It doesn’t pour properly allowing water to cascade all over the place . The previous design was easy to use and the water poured where it was meant to go.
Shortlive fillter
I have been pretty happy with he filters until recently, something has changed and these don't last longer than a week now. Used to get a month from a filter before the water started going sour, the last couple of filters only lasted a week. This has happened to 2 filters in a row, expensive! Something has changed for the worse. Very expensive and not happy
