Once I asked for support and received an email sometime later when I read the email 2 hours later the price had changed - it is a pity that you don’t have the ability to keep that price open for longer and I was booking the car for a 4 week period .

The car was all ok (it was from MasterKings) but 10 days after we returned the car we are still awaiting a refund of the ‘in case you use any toll roads’ charge. Which we didn’t. Maybe they hope that we will forget to keep checking our credit card. I was assured when we dropped the car off that it would be refunded promptly. Also the waiting time to collect and drop off the car was unacceptable. I’m on crutches and the queuing was excruciating. They need more operatives at the counter at busy times. It’s not like they don’t know how many people are picking up and dropping off cars at any given time.

We were recommended to use Zest by a frequent traveller. We use another company whilst travelling generally but were willing to go on a recommendation. Our car requirement was based on 4 adults (with 5 pieces of luggage) on a two week holiday in Cyprus wanting to travel the country. Paperwork suggested we might secure a Toyota Corolla Estate Automatic (or similar) 4 doors, 5 seats, air-con. We got an AudiA3 TSI DSG - bucket seats, minimal comfort and boot space for one suitcase! We knew this would be a stretch for our advancing years - one recent hip operation, one recent kidney surgery and asked to check if anything else was available in line with our expectations built on advisory on paperwork. There were upgrades available for an additional 90 Euros but felt this was a stretch having paid £518.36 for the two week hire already. Everything seemed to come with additional costs. Disappointing hire experience and will revert to our normal hire company for our multiple overseas visits in the future. On the plus side the car appeared to be well maintained including the air con which was a must throughout.

Easy to book and register on the site

On arrival at the rental desk it took over 2 hours before we left with car. I asked a Zest Car Rental team member to set the Sat Nav that came with the car to set it for our destination and the Sat Nav would not recognise the destination which resulted what should have been an hours journey into 5 HOURS. The Air Con did not work either. Even on our return to Faro airport with only a couple of km to go, even though I knew where I was going, as an experiment I keyed in Faro Airport into the Sat Nav and it still did not recognise!! Throughout the holiday the Sat Nav was useless. Every time we went out and returned to our resort we had to rely on landmarks as the Sat Nav would not recognise! On our return I expressed my dissatisfaction to the Car hire rep and she admitted that due to the distance they would not have changed car unless we went to them which would have meant losing at least half a day if our holiday. Very disappointed customer

Second time using Zest - absolutely great service. USA road trip with different pick-up & drop-off locations, no extra charges & everything covered. Car was through Alamo who were also great, successful, hassle free trip.

I have had at least 4 rentals via zest now and every time the car hire company is decent and honest with no attempot at ripoffs

Had minor issue with warning lights that I did not understand - rang at 3.00 and told I would be attended to by 4.00 - I was staying some 20 mins from airport . Gentleman arrived at 4.00 with replacement car - all sorted no hassle

Although I fell into the trap of not paying for the top up insurance at the time of booking, we did get an upgrade in the car which was good. Very good service both online and at Alicante.
