Terrible service! Their customer service will blame you when their service not work! I purchase 1 year cloud plan for their zmodo camera and did not received service! I contacted them and was told that their cloud service not refundable even if it not working! BEWARE.

Got a Zmodo wifi camera to try based on mostly good Amazon reviews. Camera disconnects all the time. I knew as soon as I contacted their "tech support", mostly likely schmucks in India, they would say it's my network at fault. I've been working in IT for 35 years and I can tell you there is nothing wrong with my network, internet, anything at all. Specs on their camera say I need 1mb upload speed for it to work properly. I have more than that. When I contacted them of course they said I need 4mb for it to work and nothing they can do. Even their own instructions say 1mb. They are full of BS. Don't buy Zmodo garbage.
The NVR didn't last a year
The NVR didn't last a year. Customer service's response..."Go buy another one" I'll never buy anything from this terrible company again and you shouldn't either.
Customer Support Pulled the Plug
The customer support treated me like I didn't exist. I failed to cancel a subscription when I found a landlord was simply turning off power or disconnecting the camera. They did not send me a warning like they said they would.
The equipment itself is clear enough to id a car from 12 yards. Doesn't do any good if the team and the software are not operational.

I am exceedingly disappointed
I am exceedingly disappointed in all aspects of service from this company. I would give them zero Stars if I was able to. The customer service is deplorable at best when you're able to reach them. The supposed 24/7 online chat is absolutely useless as far as I'm concerned, I've had multiple issues with them not responding at all and when they do respond it is usually very delayed. I don't feel that the technicians are helpful and troubleshooting the equipment. The most upsetting thing to me is a tie for awful customer service, sub par equipment, and a hidden agenda in the terms and conditions. After a particularly horrible experience I bought these cameras hoping to add a little security in my home. I've had multiple issues the entire time, the most distressing of these being that the cameras will just disconnect from being online for no apparent reason, and even when they are online they miss quite a bit of activity that is perfectly in range. Since I was unaware of these problems, I signed up for the one year cloud service. After the problems began to arise and I was getting very little help from customer service, I attempted to cancel my contract asking for a prorated refund for the time I have not used. I spoke with managers three levels up for my initial call, and they became progressively more rude and disrespectful. The last person I spoke with told me that I agreed in the terms of service to a one-year contract and there was no way I could get out of this, and no way I could obtain any refund for time unused. When I asked to speak with her manager, she became extremely indignant telling me there is no one above her. Now I'm stuck with a useless product for another six months. I think that any company confident in their product and services would not hide these in the terms of conditions, which I admittedly did not read in full detail, and not offer any way out after multiple calls and complaints. I have worked in customer service for many years, and would be ashamed to have my name associated anywhere near this company. I suppose this is a lesson learned, I will now pay more attention to the terms and services that I agree to prior to signing. I would not recommend this product or company. I am much happier with the replacement cameras from SimpliSafe, who is extremely easy to reach and also very polite and easy to work with for the very minor issues I have had.

Horrible customer service like an I the customer or are they because they way they talk to you shows they have no customer service manners. Camera doesn’t work and they give no solutions and then just end chats because they feel like it.

ATTENTION!!!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. Once they charge your credit card it is literally impossible to receive a refund for any dispute. Your CC is ghosted on the site so you cannot remove, change or edit any information. You have to contact the IT Dept to remove your credit card. They are a Communist Chinese company. Their cameras are marginal at best they also drop off the router frequently. Pay the extra money and buy quality.

My device simply doesn’t work. I spent hours communicating with the zmodo support team who really made me do all of the heavy lifting. Nothing worked. And I was told they won’t accept my return. I wasted 70 bucks and will never purchase zmodo products again
I would say you get what you pay for
I would say you get what you pay for. I purchased 4 outdoor and 2 indoor cameras in December 2019. Easy initial setup but here we are less than a year later and I'm having all kinds of problems with both indoor and outdoor devices staying "online" and actually capturing "motion." The customer service is hit or miss. I've spent over 6 hours in the last 2 days troubleshooting with several tech reps and by myself. Zmodo originally blamed it on my internet provider and speed but I've had my provider reset my devices and then I ran a speed test that fell well within Zmodo's "ideal" limits. I'm not sure if they did an update to their system but I can't get my devices to stay working and 3 of the 6 devices are within 15 - 20ft of my WiFi router. I'm really disappointed in these devices. I purchased on Amazon and there were 100s of reviews saying similar but thought I'd give it a try for the price. To be honest, I really wish I would have just spent the extra money for Nest. I have a few friends and family members who invested in Nest and have no issues. I wouldn't recommend unless you're open to reinvesting in the Zmodo camera system every year.

No bells and whistles
I bought the Zmodo cameras with sound and microphone. I’ve talked to persons at home without using the phone - comes in handy ... I check in on the chickens outside. The cameras do not notify me of every movement, but I am aware of anything major. They must be within 70 feet of the router. They go off line at times and the pictures are not that good at times. I gave five stars because the use is free and it gives me peace of mind to check in to see if the kids are home from school, if my dad is still snoring in his room, if anyone is in my driveway or at any of the doors, .... I have ten cameras and the monthly fee is free. I don’t expect bells and whistles for a service that is free. I have had this system for a little over four years.
Non-existent customer service
Their hardware isn't bad. But their customer service is basically non-existent. This is the second time I've tried to buy their stuff and work with them to resolve issues. And, again, like the first time, I find myself basically cancelling to get my money back because it's just easier than trying to even get in contact with anyone at ZModo. This time, it's their cloud service. I signed up, they force me to pay via subscription in my Apple account. Problem is, Apple has now charged me $30 more than my receipt from ZModo says. Of course, I'm unable to reach ZModo to find out what happened and if they can fix it, so I've now requested that Apple refund my purchase.
It's just too bad that this company cares so little about their customers.

Customer service is non-existant. Like someone else said they point fingers at everything other than their shoddy product. Australian office phone number is disconnected and they don't answer emails.
Finally had live chat with someone in the US after waiting 2 hours for them to respond to my message (24/7 chat apparently), and they useless. Just blamed everything else other than the NVR failing.
Concerning as 1 of my 3 Zmodo systems have failed within 18 months and now I'm concerned about the other 2 if they fail around the same time as parts are no longer available and everything is proprietary to them. Don't buy a Zmodo system online. Buy something from a bricks and mortar store that will stand behind the product. The extra few $$ will be worth it in the long run.
Dubious policies and practices
I cancelled my policy one day before expiry and they still would not refund me because apparently "I had already paid".
Also, email provided on Paypal is fake and phone number is not setup for sales.
Customer service sucks
Customer service sucks. The customer service is completely useless. They don’t ask questions to try to trouble shoot and understand the issues. Just try to point fingers at everything but their product. Response times are horrible and they leave the chat when you question them
The camera and doorbell are decent but…
The camera and doorbell are decent but the app and the customer service are extremely lacking. I signed up for a annual subscription to the software, only to find out that the play back is at one very fast speed that makes it nearly impossible to determine when/if something happened.
What the heck am I paying extra for, if not to easily access and review security footage. Customer service was useless and refused to refund my month’s subscription the same day I signed up for the service. Save your money and buy a different video doorbell. Sometimes a knockoff is simply just that- a second rate version of another product.
