Good support

I had an issue with Syncback, and put in a support request on Sunday at lunchtime, not expecting a reply until the next business day. I got a reply about an hour later, and my issue was resolved within a couple of hours.

Great service! Although I still can't figure how an option that I'd never heard of got ticked in one of the profile configurations...

Superior Support for SyncBack!

The response from Support was impressive. After I gave a short description of the issue, Swapna replied with a detailed email that fixed my problem by changing a setting I did not previously know about. SyncBack is easy to use and has made many backups for me over the years without a hitch. I give this company Five Stars for their product and the support behind it.

Reliable backup software with great Support

A current backup of your data is absolutely essential in my view and Synchback performs this function perfectly. It can be run on a schedule or manually to supplementary or external HDDs. As a user since it's first release many years ago I can thoroughly recommend it and have had no issues with it until recently. The issue revolved around a software error which was very quickly resolved by their support team who were stellar!

SyncBackSE Great product/ 2 Bright Sparks Great Company!

I have been using SyncBackSE for approximately 20 years. In this time, it has never failed me. It saves so much time mirroring, syncing, and backing up files between hard disks, local storage and network storage, or even between my backup medium (flash drives) and local storage. I have some files I just don't want to lose, but I don't want to take the time to backup files that have already been copied. If I want to create a new mirror, it will copy everything. If I change a flash drive for a different flash drive for two backup/portable copies, it can handle that! It is soooooo much better than futzing around with Windows Explorer to copy files. Explorer is so slow about how it does everything. SyncBackSE changes such chores to a snap. It even has a scheduler, so it can do my tasks when I am not attempting to use my computer. It is exceptional when you are updating/creating a small number of files, and you just want a program to figure out what has been copied already, what has been updated, or what has been newly created. It was one of those utilities that I tried on a trial, and decided it was so good, I had to get a license. I also love how the program gives you a summary of what it is about to do before it continues the run and does the queued actions. It isn't intended to identify file system problems, but by looking at the summary or the logs, file system issues become quite obvious, which is why you have a duplicate copy of the data, right? It is also great for web development when you are working on a local version of a site, and you have created the updated version of the site, and want to mirror your changes up to the production web server. I usually dupe the old copy of the web server into another directory, or to a standby box, for just such purposes, and then update what is on the web server from my local duplicate appearing environment (this is for development, so when I am working on the new version, all the URL's that deal with the named website go to local versions because of local DNS servers setup that way. This way, when I update the production web server, I don't have the headache of changing names, or dealing with changed paths, as the production servers use production DNS servers that give the same information, but direct traffic to production rather than testing.)

It is so handy, and I have used it for so many purposes. I used to use freeware programs for some of this, but SyncBack SE is so much better, I don't mess around with lesser tools. Some freeware tools are livable, but not as reliable, and SyncBackSE does such a great job, and has such a clear interface to use, why would I want to use anything else?

I also like the consistency of the user interface between versions. I like to get things done, and not have to spend time learning how to use a new version for things I have done thousands of times before with an older version. SyncBackSE maintains a consistent user interface, so I don't have to suffer wasting time on figuring out a new environment. Features do get added, but in such a way as to not be cumbersome, or interfere with the general operation of the software. It is my favourite utility for doing general copy functions without requiring brain surgery to write profiles.

Truly, an excellent company. I would say how wonderful the support is: I'm sure they are great. I've just never needed it, which is probably the best compliment a software program can receive. In the ~20 years I have been using it, I have never had a reason or need to contact technical support. The software just does what it is supposed to do. I felt that tech support might be getting lonely, so I finally got around to sending them a thank you letter for a great product. It was the first time I have ever contacted them. They replied promptly. I didn't have any problems, I was just happy for the years of reliable service I have received from their software, and figured it was time that I sent them something telling them that, yes, I do indeed use SyncBackSE all the time. Normally, I don't even think about it, because it has become such a normal part of my life, I just push buttons, and off it goes, and I never worry about the program. I have grown used to just expecting that from SyncBackSE and 2BrightSparks that I normally just don't think about it. It's a brighter part of my life on computers and storage devices. Oh, the logging part of the program is great as well, as if you leave it running unattended, you can check and make sure nothing strange happened (always the fault of something else: full destination, corrupt file system, etc. The program is not a diagnostic tool, but it has such good logging that you can cross reference time stamps with logs on the server to figure out what happened. It has never been the fault of SyncBackSE, but SyncBack has nevertheless been able to help me locate the problem.

One happy Syncback user…

I have been a happy user of Syncback for over a decade. It does exactly what I require - multiple backups - in the background and effortlessly. Occasionally I have needed to find an old document and it's safely stored by Syncback. I recently made a mistake and the support service was first class - quickly realised what I had done and helped me to rectify it. I couldn't manage without Syncback - thank you.

Exactly what I was looking for! ! !

I downloaded SyncBack Free three days ago and it was exactly what I was looking for. Setting it up was intuitively obvious. As usual I did not read any of the instructions and the pages guided me through the steps. Even provided the needed network address for my NAS. The next day I purchased and installed the SyncBackSE on my Desktop and SyncBack Touch on my laptop. Only trouble I had was I did not use the drop down on the on the first selection screen on the first attempt to set up the SyncBack Touch profile for SBSE. All works great now. Exactly what I was looking for! ! ! I found he instructions and the linked instructions, which are part of the online instruction book, were great and very easy to follow

I use it for backing up several thousands of photos taken over fifty years, and my Ham Radio logbook with the record of well over two thousand contacts over 50 years. About ten years, a power outage caused the PC to shutdown and All photos and the Logbook were lost. Since then I make sure my important data is well preserved. This program should do that for you. It can save your data on an inexpensive NAS forever for less than the cost of a year’s storage time in the “Cloud” and only you have the data.

SyncBackFree AND SBF-Service are outstanding

For all those who often need to mirror or synchronize files across several computers, external hard disks or network drives without any problems, this program (based on many years of experience with other such programs) can be described as absolutely outstanding in terms of an easy start and in terms of the subsequently self-explanatory outstanding wealth of functions.

But the best of all is the excellent service with help also for the users of the SyncBackFree version. Immediate, helpful and excellent are the answers, which you get even as a somewhat inexperienced beginner with tiny little problems.

Couldn't add new SyncBack Touch device

SyncBackSE was preventing me from adding a new SyncBack Touch device (for a total of 2 "free" devices). I tried to find a third device (which I assumed was my previous phone) but failed. Tech Support (Swapna) was able to guide me to provide appropriate trace information and then found the offending profile. I was surprised that it was a group profile containing a "run when SyncBack Touch starts on the device" setting. I had to restart SyncBackSE to complete the fix from the profile change.

Sophisicated and Robust Backup Solution

My brother told me about SyncBack many years ago. I figured it was a fairly standard backup program. Now I realize that it's one of the most sophisticated backup programs there is. Not only that, but it's very robust programs I've ever used. It's one of few programs I've used (and I've used many big name programs and apps) that never crashes and always works. I can't recommend it highly enough.
