Targeted for being disabled

I am a visually impaired person - I was directly targeted by one of their officers for "dropping a cigarette but" - there is no signage stating about this and the bins are overflowing anyway. He accosted me and began shouting - this was really frightening, I have paid the fine, because was too scared to do anything else - I will never go into manchester again. These are bullies of the highest order and directly discriminate against disabled people.

Innocent until proven guilty

Littering, dog fouling etc is disgusting and people who wilfully do those things should be held accountable and prosecuted. But it should be on an innocent until proven guilty basis and should be done in a court of law where the person accused of an offense should have a right to defend themselves and the onus is on the council to prove they are guilty.

The current system of fixed penalty notices or on the spot fines negates the notion of innocent until proven guilty and someone can be issued with a fine based not on evidence but on the mere accusation of someone who is given a uniform and put in a position of authority. If someone is excused of dropping litter or dog fouling it should be the matter for the courts.

The current scheme is open to abuse with evidence of people being falsely fined for things they haven't done and given fixed penalty notices for things like accidentally (not wilfully) dropping litter. People having to pay a fine for something they didn't do is wrong.

Actual rules relating to 3GS

Seen in the reviews there seems to be a lot of confusion. They can stop and ask you for youre name under the environment enforcement regulations. But you don't have to give it to them if you go into a shop they can't follow you. If you give them you're details they can take you to court for the fine. In short don't litter and you shouldn't have any problems.

Just keep walking

Just keep walking. They have no power regardless of what they say.
Just be polite and carry on your way.
Get on a bus or in a taxi if you can and go a stop or two away.
Don't feel pressured to give your name, there is nothing they can do to make you.

Walked through Arndale Shopping Centre in Manchester this morning without a mask. Stopped by two 'almost official' looking guys and got fined £120 on the spot. Posted what happened online and told my mum who said just pay it straight away so I did, later I've got friends messaging me this company FAKE PROSECUTES PEOPLE??! You must be kidding me. I wish I stood up to them but all I can do now is write this review. Contacted my bank first thing, fingers crossed my money will be recovered..

£150 fine for 1 cigarette butt

£150 fine for 1 cigarette butt. Fine MUST be paid within 28 days or court and bigger fine. That leaves me about £50 for food, electric, gas etc during this fortnight. No way to appeal and no payment plans are offered. How is this fair?

Was wrongly given a litter fine

Was given a litter fine for throwing food on floor at Market Street in Manchester, however I was actually only feeding birds, there were no street signs to say you can not feed birds in this area, (we have since found out however it is an offence to feed birds in Piccadilly Gardens Manchester). We were shocked at the man who fined us, he was intimidating and would not accept our explanations or reason, we had our day ruined by this situation and left Manchester to go home, we contacted a lady called Claire on the telephone number at bottom of the fine, even though it did take a lot of sleepless night and stress with worry, we spoke to Claire every day waiting for video footage to prove my innocents, finally 9 days later, Claire confirmed the fine was revoked and we were no longer liable to pay, the fine was given wrongly, she was everyday, helpful and polite, but at the same time, just doing her job, if I was littering I would have paid without objection, but i know I was only feeding birds, maybe the officers doing this job should look at the situations correctly and fine accordingly, not upset and stress innocent people just being helpful to wildlife, Claire was very helpful to me, even though this should not have happened in first place.

They are even worse than you might think and apparently untouchable

3GS are owned by RedSnapperGroup who have conducted a side line accepting tax payers money for investigating our armed forces for crimes in their line of duty. I am aware of none proved to date. They are not concerned with the environment or litter or law enforcement. They exist only for profit, whether that be to the detriment of honest citizens or brave service personnel.
It is gravely concerning that they may be partnering with police forces for law enforcement. It needs someone more courageous than me that has suffered unjustly at their hands. Shamefully I am not brave enough to take them on, beyond reporting them to fraud online, complaining to the company, the press and Gloucester City Council. All of which amounted to nothing. They seem to be well protected and happy to sport the twitter logo on their website which leads to an account which does not exist. Just another misrepresentation of what they purport to be.
I would gladly support a crowd funding initiative to bring this company and collaborators to account if any legal representative can restore my shattered faith in the justice system.

They accused me of littering then blocked my way as I tried to leave when I called up to make a complaint the manager was so rude she need to be fired
They should be ashamed of themselves especially as I told them I was unemployed and they said that they don’t care and that I would be prosecuted if I could not pay

Accosted me while I was walking my 3…

Accosted me while I was walking my 3 year old daughter to the car park. So dangerous and quite frankly any idiot would know I was not the sort to leave dog poop, they were just on a power trip. My dog was walking next to me. No poop, and lots of bags in my pocket. No fine but goodness me, we used to live in a free country. Why anybody supports fines for not carrying bags is beyond me. I resent having to speak to such people, and their introduction will subtly alter the freedoms we enjoy in this country. They should be banned, even dog poop is better than this reality.

I would have given zero stars if…

I would have given zero stars if allowed. Despite disposing of my dogs waste in the correct fashion and witnessed doing so by one of these officers. Three of these (male) officers walked towards me in a lonely wooded area. I am a lone woman with a small dog. One of them bizzarrely even read me my rights. I had not as far as I am aware contravened any environmental order nor had my dog. I was extremely distressed when I got home by their bully boy tactics. I was issued with a FPN for 100, I had done nothing wrong. I have complained formally to the Council of my experience. The local park keeper was astounded, he said in all the years of him seeing myself and my dog I had always cleared up after my dog. Interestingly two men with a very large Alsation were left alone by these (in my view) bullies. I felt bullied, discriminated and singled out. My supposed crime was having run out of poo bags as I was heading home.Had they approached me during the start of the walk I had waste bags. My dog would not soil without my clearing it. In that rare eventuality (I had packets of tissues in my pockets) I refused to take his FPN until I had spoken to my local council.

3GS are a scam company

3GS are a scam company. As one that generates profit, they have ZERO rights to prosecute. You will NOT be taken to court, as they have no right to litigate. DO NOT PAY ANY FEE. THEIR 'OPERATIVES' HAVE NO MORE LEGAL ENFORCEMENT POWERS, THAN A DUSTMAN. Just walk away.
