Loch Ness E 360
Had a great time completing the Loch Ness 360 on ebikes. The ebikes meant we could enjoy the stunning views of Loch Ness without slogging up the hills! A great first taster of mountain biking for me with spectacular scenery, excellent coaching and many interesting stops along the way.

A Highly Positive Experience
You can rarely go wrong when you get a recommendation from a fellow professional. It was thus I found my way to Kev at 42 cycling. From the outset, with a friendly reply to my telephone enquiry, to my leaving on my now smooth running bike I’m grateful for Kev’s prompt, professional, good natured attention and would wholeheartedly recommend his work.

Excellent
Kev and Cammy were excellent guides and the quality of the bikes that they offered was very high. Cycling around Glen Affric with them was a real highlight of the trip for our group. Highly recommended

Not all heroes wear capes!
I was 43 miles into my first day cycling the NC500 when I broke down with a snapped gear cable. Not carrying a spare, I managed to get hold of Kev at 42 Cycling who was able to come out the same day and repair it at the side of the road. His service was fast, professional and friendly with a wealth of knowledge about the route. He even brought his 2 junior mechanics - 2 labradors who provided much needed emotional support! Without Kev, I would not have been able to complete a trip that I had been planning for, training for and dreaming about for months. An absolute life saver!!!

Willing to help when others wouldn’t/couldn’t
Kev got the job done when we were in desperate need of a new tyre we visited every bike shop in Inverness and they were unwilling to squeeze us in, but Kev came up trumps so we could cycle the NC 500. We met a fellow cyclist on route who Kev had driven to meet him to deliver and fit a new gear cable too. Excellent service in a remote corner of Scotland!

Lochinver Adventures
Who wouldn't want to spend the day venturing to the West Coast of Scotland, cycling around Lochinver, with a bite to eat in the middle? As a tourist this would be a tricky thing to organize without the fantastic trips arranged by Kev/42cycling. We were collected in Inverness as a group of 4 (+ Kev). Our bikes and us loaded comfortably into his van before catching a semi-sightseeing tour towards our destination. Upon arrival and unloading, he gave us a quick breakdown of the route plan and a safety check of our equipment. Then we set off on a rolling ride around the loop. Our lunch pitstop included an incredible pie (and a personal puncture).. Kev was on hand throughout and gave us all an insight of the area and landmarks, making sure we all got the most out of the day no matter our abilities. We did the shorter of the route, but I believe this can be extended to around 100km if you have the stamina. It is a full day when you account for the drive there and back. You'll certainly be looking forward to dinner and a shower once he drops you back in the city. Can't imagine a more rewarding way to experience the Highlands.
If you're a cyclist, this is an absolut no brainer - you'll love it. (Scottish Disclosure, we lucked out with the weather!)

42 Cycling - Loch Ness Etape
Met Kev from 42 Cycling the day before the Loch Ness Etape. Kev was kind enough to give my road bike a quick safety check while giving me some excellent advice on the Etape.
Kev then took time to show me the Pulseroll mini massage gun. After a short explanation and demo I was sold. Bought one which came into excellent use after the Etape. Used twice that day to ease the tiredness in my legs. Monday I was good to go and ready to get back on the bike. Superb product.
Kev is a man of many talents looking after all the needs of the keen cyclist. No matter your level of ability 42 Cycling is the place to go for all your cycling needs.

Trip to Lochinver
I took a tour with Kev along with some friends to cycle a stunning 45 mile loop in Assynt on the West Coast. We left from Inverness in Kev's van which was more than capable of taking our 5 bikes and all the gear we needed. The journey via Ullapool was very comfortable and has some fantastic scenery.
The weather was brilliant and what a great day we had! Kev was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out all the local landmarks. We had a lunch stop in beautiful Lochinver and then continued our journey back to the van stopping at Ardvrek Castle for a photo. Indeed, there were lots of brilliant photo opportunities!
Thank you for a fabulous day out!
Highly recommended indeed!

Bucket List Goals - 42 Cycling
I recently had the privilege and opportunity to join Kev on a one day bike tour of Lairg and the Lochinver Loop (I’ve called this the 42 double L), a full day trip, with about 50 miles of varying road and over 3000ft of climbing.
I met Kev and some others at the launchpad to adventure (Inverness) early in the morning, the bikes safely loaded into Kev’s vehicle and we were conveyed in comfort and style to the start point just north of Drumrunie.
Before departure from the start point, Kev made sure all bikes were subject to a safety check and each member of the group briefed on actions to take in the unlikely event of an emergency. Each segment of the route was briefed and various points, where Kev thoroughly explained what to expect and how most to enjoy each area
I can’t emphasise Kev’s local knowledge, bicycle mechanical expertise and energy for what he’s doing.
From the moment I met Kev, he made you feel welcome, comfortable and I’m safe hands. This continued throughout the day and his character really adds to the experience.
The route we took on the day was absolutely stunning and far from anything I’d ever cycled before. The roads varied from very quiet to more busy, as we cycled through the NC500, but Kev was always putting safety to the forefront of everything and kept us all safe in riding techniques and road etiquette.
I would HIGHLY recommend taking a tour with Kev, even if you are not the most confident cyclist, Kev will be sure to raise your awareness and abilities tenfold.
I have already booked my next adventure around the Loch Ness 360 on my gravel bike for birthday and know it is going to be EPIC.

Great support on the Etape Loch Ness
Unlucky to have a puncture on the Etape Loch Ness just before Fort Augustus. I had some trouble getting the tyre back on, getting ever more frustrated thinking of the hill climb ahead.
Lucky for me Kev was supporting and as soon as he turned up, he calmly took control of the situation. Bike on his stand wheel off, tyre sorted and back on the road. To top it all his local knowledge of the climb ahead was a great help too
Made it to the top without walking.
Thanks Kev, top man.

Great for confidence building in a safe fun environment
Had the best morning on a sender session under Kevin and Lynn’s guidance. There were laughs a plenty and in such a relaxed atmosphere, I learnt so many new skills. Kevin makes the whole session fun and builds your confidence without you realising. Would highly recommend for young and old alike.

Easter Sender Sessions
My 7 year old had a great time on the sender sessions and achieving his level 1 and 2 GoMTB awards. A tired boy after a 2 day course but had a blast and asked for a set of ramps as soon as we got home! Thanks to Kev and Finn who made sure the kids had fun whilst learning the skills they need to enjoy mountain biking.
