In my 30-years of home and property ownership, I was exceedingly disappointed with the after-sales customer service, quality and longevity of the supplied window units, as well as the poorly sealed, insulated and finished installation of the windows and door units supplied by Abbey Windows & "Origin" Bi-Folding Doors to our newly purchased home in 2017. Consequently, I'd strongly recommend avoiding Abbey Windows & "Origin" Bi-Fold Aluminium Doors, in Reading.

Between 2016-17, we placed an order with Abbey Windows for the installation of new UPVC double-glazed windows, an "Origin" Aluminium Bi-Folding sliding garden doors, side and front entrance doors, roofline sofits and gutters all-around our home that we had just moved into, costing approx £20k in total. The Installation Teams were good, polite and seemed to have done a reasonable job over the course of the installations.

But after completion of the installation in 2017, during the winter periods we were finding a lot of draughts around the windows and door edges due to poor seals and installation. Also substantial condensation build-up on all the double glazed window units and the "Origin" Aluminium Bi-Folding Doors. So I again contacted Abbey Windows who at the time said it was due to "high levels of humidity" within the home and nothing to do with the installation, which was rather ludicrous since we have never experienced any such issues in any of our previous homes with newly installed double glazed windows. I also contacted "Origin" who are the manufacturers of the quite expensive Aluminium Bi-Folding Doors that we had installed, they said that it's an installation problem and to discuss with Abbey Windows, who we'd already established were not interested in addressing the problem.

Then only 3-years after installation, several of the double glazed units started to lightly mist internally which I didn't think much of and thought it was just transient. Also as a Family we were regularly travelling overseas and my understanding was that Abbey Windows provided a 10-year guarantee on all the windows and doors, so did not feel rushed to contact them again at the time.

By around the 5th year after installation in 2022, several more (approx 30-40%) of the new window units were misting and realised the units had failed. So I called Abbey Windows and spoke with the After-Sales Service Manager, whose name I believe was Simon. He advised that the double glazed window units were only covered with a 5-year guarantee, the 10-years guarantee was only for the UPVC frames, and that we were just 4-weeks over the 5-year guarantee period. He said they'd send a glazer around to check. Once they realised the extent and expense of the problem, we did not hear back from them. I chased-up and spoke with Simon who said that because we were just over the 5-year guarantee period they wouldn't replace any of the units.

Abbey Windows subsequently never got back in-touch again and were obviously not interested in resolving any of the double glazed window unit failures, installation problems, etc. Since then we've had a few more glazing units fail, and will have to replace them at some point in the future at our own additional and unnecessary cost.

Excellent job by Rob yesterday. He fitted conservatory door & side window. Informed all along & Rob was polite, knowledgeable & tidy. Next time we will be requesting Rob. Thank you so much.

Rob has been absolutely brilliant. He arrived on time and has been very polite and cheerful. The doors were fitted to perfection and was all done in 2hrs. The whole job looks excellent. We will always use Abby windows now and would request Rob when we get our windows done.

From the sales team, admin teams and the fitters Dan and Stacy we couldn't have asked for a better experience. They made the whole process easy and fitted in a record time. The original completion date should have been in May, however 8 weeks after 1st receiving the quote our new Windows and a set of French Doors have been installed. Very happy customer

We love our new windows which Abbey Windows installed. We spent ages deciding on the final supplier and Abbey lived up to their Origin Platinum Partner status. Everyone was really helpful from Rob who sold to us through to Lee our installer. Thanks for making a really worrying process so smooth.

No customer service and very unreliable - due to have salesman out who cancelled my appointment as I did not answer his phone call ( he made one attempt to contact me) then text to reschedule but was apparently not in the area (9 minutes before he was due) AND DESPITE office calling me day before to confirm. Lost my business and will never recommend. Complete waste of a morning..............

Couldn't have asked for a better company than Abbey Windows, I am currently constructing a new 3 bed dwelling. The whole experience from the point of sale to the installation has been excellent, had all the windows and doors and 2 sets of French doors fitted. The fitters were fantastic and very quick they finished earlier than scheduled. Would definitely recommend Abbey Windows for price, service and Installation.

Rob & JAck did a first class job, very efficient, explained everything to me about care and maintenance of the window. Were very friendly and cleaned up after them.
