Ah Dave was wondering when you'd get around to taking your slander publicly.

So background for everyone else, dave got a kufiya shipped, he then sent an address update once it was already out for delivery, refused to contact UPS himself, we did it on his behalf and out of courtesy and they demonstrated that it wasnt visibile on the Royal Mail address lookup - i suggested he check where the local depot was and collect it from there, which he didnt. After a week of not making an effort to go to the depot where he could have collected this, he instead began a tirade of abuse to our staff as a result had the kufiya returned and refunded on the 4th of April, so although he says the above, he has his money back (minus shipping, but he knows this, and dave if the money isnt in your account then you need to follow up with your bank) and
Its nowhere near the full story, infact it's not even the story and is just slander. Here's a little excerpt from a colourful email he sent us:

"F**k oFF you c**t!! I don't care what sort of sh**ty business you run you don't treat people like s**t you C**T!! "

We won't tolerate abuse towards staff, we made every effort to het him a kufiya, but unfortunately due to this demeanour, he had his order cancelled, refunded and returned to us. Dave learnt this the hard way, do not be abusive, don't be like Dave.

There's a difference between the likes of the other 1* reviews that lack perspective on the escalating situation, and dave on the other hand had every opportunity to get his kufiya but expected us to be some sort of personal concierge, like sending us his number and saying "get UPS to call me". Dave btw, first I'm screenshotting the above, we do have the full email chains with the paragraphs of abuse, slander, claims of not getting a refund, and a half baked story which isn't true, and on top of that, use of the term "Scammer", more than happy to forward this to our solicitors and take this down the legal route.

One Kufiyeh is on it’s way :) :)

I ordered 5 kufiyehs in November. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email to say that one of them was on its way! After I placed my order I had no expectation on when they would arrive. They would arrive when they would arrive because really, they’re coming all the way from Palestine!!!! And Abuwear has been updating us on their social media platforms about the delay in arrival and being inundated with orders. Plus there’s a whole genocide going on Palestine so there are bound to be export delays! Not to mention how tirelessly Hirbawi has had to work to fulfil all our orders.

I actually thought all of my order would come together so it would take even longer but thank you for sending the one that you were able to!!

Alhamdulillah recieved my keffiyeh!

I opened the parcel & my heart sunk 😭 I am really touching a keffiyeh from Palestine. I have been patiently waiting for over 3 months.

I feel emotional to be holding this scarf made in Palestine. I need to take care of this very well to pass it to the next generation.
The quality is shockingly amazing, feels pure material.

I am so ever thankful to find Abuwear on social media comments. I have been trying to race for a keffiyeh on hirwabi website since october. I became disheartened when out of stock due to work commitments.

UPS lost my previous parcel & didn't actually deliver but Abuwear didn't fail me & kept me positive with hopes.

Happy to wait

Abuwear could not have been clearer on their website or on social media about the process/waiting time to get a Hirbawi kufiya. All these petty one star reviews are absurd.

Disappointed

I am so disappointed in the conduct of this company.

First and foremost, I absolutely stand with Palestine and I am well aware of the struggles there. I am 46 and have been protesting this since I was a teenager. I am acutely aware of the difficulty that Hirbawi is facing as it continues to be the only true manufacturer left in the world, trying to function in a literal warzone.

Second. I am aware that Abuwear.com is a small family run business who have been overwhelmed by pre orders that they cannot fulfil well, under their current ordering process.

There is no shame in that but perhaps it would be better to implement the same ordering system that Hirbawi themselves have in place, instead of criticising customers on their social media. It's unfair and unnecessary to conflate customer frustration with the company, with the ugly suggestion that that somehow means that they don't truly support Palestine.

Personally speaking, I ordered Kufiyas on 17th November 2023 and on 20th December 2023. I was prepared for a wait but not one of this length of time and certainly not an indefinite one.

I have emailed multiple times and received absolutely no response. I honestly thought from the website update back in December, that my November order would be in their January restock. I was frustrated by the brisk Instagram story that seemed to imply a lack of customer patience given the current climate and announced that Abuwear.com were still working on orders 2000+ ahead of mine. I genuinely can't begin to understand how stressful that must be for Abuwear.com which is why I am strongly urging them to freeze pre orders until they can catch up.

I am signed up to notifications from Hirbawi directly and received an email about a restock from them on February 1st 2024. I ordered a Kufiya and some prayer beads. I received a confirmation email straight away. One week later, I received an email telling me that they were preparing to ship my beads and that they would arrive via Germany. A few days later, I received another email telling me they would be delivered by Royal Mail. Within 2 weeks of ordering, I received my beads and an email from Hirbawi checking that everything was okay. A week later, the same email process happened for my Kufiya. I ordered it on February 1st and it arrived from Palestine on February 29th 2024.

Given this, I again emailed Abuwear.com with a complaint and requesting a full refund so that I could order from Hirbawi directly. Again, I received neither a response nor a refund.

It is not unreasonable for customers to expect adequate communication from a company and to feel frustrated when that is not forthcoming.

There are better ways for Abuwear.com to handle this situation than mean Instagram stories and unfair review responses.

I would advise ordering from Hirbawi directly at kufiya.org for now.

Update.

This response says it all.

I'm not sure what misinformation I am being accused of spreading because everything in my review is true.

I'm unclear on the point being made about the beads but I did order them from Hirbawi directly. I cannot add the link as Trust pilot won't allow it but they are called Olive Wood Oasis Prayer Beads and can easily found in the Kufiya.org shop. As Hirbawi have a policy of allowing customers to order one item at a time, and the beads seem to always be in stock, they did arrive separately to the Hurriya Freedom Kufiya that ordered. Again, I'm not sure why the variant that I ordered from Hirbawi matters.

I am in direct contact with several people on the ground, 2 of whom are personal friends.

I have no issue with things taking time, and I'm not having a hissy fit over a scarf. I do have a real issue with a lack of communication, no projected timelines and personal attacks. That said, I don't believe that anyone deserves abusive messages and if that's what this company and other distributors are up against, that is indeed shameful and unacceptable.

Abuwear.com emailed me today and I have requested that they send the Kufiya that do have in stock, and refund the other so that I can order from Kufiya.org

Hey Catherine,

Last year, pick a colour and most of the time it was in stock. We have done this for 3 years, brought kufiyas up and down the country and listed on hirbawi.ps, but never received an order from you prior to the Gaza attack in october, you ordered end of November, 2 months later after several thousand people, you need to wait your turn.

The loudest voices on this complaining about how we do things claiming they know all about the situation over in the West Bank. This claim of being "acutely" aware of the situation, from what, news? Blogs?Because unless you spoke to Palestinians on the ground in areas such as Hebron, Bethlehem and Ramallah and elsewhere who are close to the matter as we did, who have had friends and family members martyred, you wouldnt left such a review as this and I'm really disappointed to see misinformation like this from yourself. Awkwardly enough, we actually do have your kufiya ready to ship from this batch, but I'll hold it for final confirmation if you want it sent or refunded. I'll email you directly on this but I will address the fact that your review (at time of this response) lacks detail on kufiya variants for your example, which we fill based on - we guarantee a buyer for the hirbawi kufiya so the factory are aware of the demand across the variants and prioritize effectively admist a choke on supplies in and out of the west bank by Israel. You're misleading people with this review - we are a indeed a small family business, a small family with kids that have seen their father work tirelessly then be subjected to a torrent of online abuse regardless of # of kufiyas shipped, support emails answered, hours worked etc. No matter what we do, or how well we did it, you alongside the other 1* who claim to know so much about the demand and situation assume that you know alot the orderbooks across the global distributors which frankly, you dont, and then go on to spread your assumptions regardless of who that could impact. We give a inch and you follow up demanding a mile. We are filling orders across all series when the variant is available.

We dont sell prayer beads, and if you ordered jericho or kaubar in the same timeline as you did your order with kufiya.org, you would have got it in the same timeframe. SO AGAIN, repeating myself, variants differ across distributors, we have no control over that and it was a decision by hirbawi at a later stage to ensure a degree of equitable distribution globally which is their right. Just because it wasn't your turn on our orderbook, does not justify going so far out of your way to "stand with Palestine " by throwing shade at an authorised distributor just because you needed to wait a few months. You agreed to the preorder terms, noone made you.

About freezing preorders, two things here, 1 who does that benefit? Those who dont want to join the queue for their variant like everyone else has, they want to scramble to get their hands on the stock, how can you ensure that the same people dont buy up all the stock? You can't without intervening 2. The Hirbawi site crashed due to the traffic volume, with many customer missing out on each restock as a result. We're managing the traffic over time, ensuring we keep site uptime high allowing people to preorder their chosen kufiya ensuring no advantage is given based on timezone. So we're damned if we do and damned if we don't, but it's our decision and we're sticking with it for the foreseeable future. Again we've shipped over 1000 kufiya in the last few months, we're trying to scale but when you see this westerner view on when you should get your order flys in the face of all the work hirbawi, ourselves and the global distributors have spent years on. And frankly, as rightly said by many customers who understand these nuances - these reviews are absolutely shameful. FYI, believe it or not, it's not just us getting this abuse, its across the board, Hirbawi included and again, shameful.

Palestine abú

Ordered kufiya in mid Jan. 2024, waiting patiently in March 2024. It was clearly communicated on site & social media that there were already thousands of preorders to fufil and the unpredictable nature of restock quantities. I don't see the benefit of a tiny business having to spend time reiterating this same point over & over again personally to each impatient purchaser/poser. Kev

Amazing service and wonderful people!!!!!!

Amazing service and wonderful customer service. Yes we are all aware there has been delays with orders BUT my order came eventually. They are transparent on Instagram and apologetic, explaining the delay and HUGE number of orders. In terms of communication, I found Instagram the best way with communication. Please evryone who rated 1, be kind. We are privileged to have Abu wear bring the stock in for us!!! We need to remain in solidarity with them and be more understanding. The situation in Gaza is horrific..the fact that they are family led business and still managing this iS AMAZING. I rate 5 stars and I would order again even if there was a delay again! I remember another point!! They sent me an extra chocolate kuffiyeh in error and let me keep for FREE!!!! Thanks Ryan at abuwear, youre amazing! Free Free Plaestine!

Thank you

I just want to thank the people at Abuwear for making it possible to order a little piece of Palestine. I am shocked and quite frankly appalled at some of the reviews people have written on here. Firstly, it quite clearly states when ordering a Kufiya, it is a PRE ORDER. It does not state when you will get this order. Secondly, there is a genocide happening! I think that may cause a few issues don’t you think!? Thirdly, clearly the demand for these beautiful pieces has increased so it’s obvious there will be a wait. As Abuwear has previously said, instead of closing orders, isn’t it best to continue to support and show love to a Palestinian family company? It may even create more jobs because of the demand. I understand people are eager for their kufiya l, I cannot wait to receive mine but to write such nasty reviews is just gross! How selfish! I have ordered 2. One for myself and one for my friend for her 40th in May. I knew when I ordered in January that there was a good chance I wouldn’t have it by then but I was just grateful to have the chance to make the order as Hirbawi has closed their orders. Thank you again 🤍🇵🇸🕊️ FREE PALESTINE

Absolutely amazing service from…

Absolutely amazing service from Abuwear. I have now received four kuffiyehs from them - each more amazing in quality than the previous. I received two after waiting a few months, however true Palestine comrades will appreciate why. The team at Abuwear sent updates periodically explaining the reasons for the delay and responded to me (at 3am!) to amend my delivery address. They made it very clear on their social media and website that they were inundated with messages, so I really appreciate it!
I have recommended them to several family members, friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. The quality of these keffiyehs are second to none - the look, the feel, material etc. Thank you to the team at Abuwear!

Edit: came back to add I decided to read some of the reviews on here…wish there was an emoji for second hand embarrassment! The audacity to centre yourselves DURING the gen0cide of the people you claim to support!! To the team at Abuwear - please dont let these self centred bleeps dampen your spirits, you guys rock! 🔻🔻🔻🍉🍉🍉

Great cause, great company!

Have always found these guys to be fantastic, I see a lot of 1 star reviews here that are definitely undeserved. The current situation in Palestine has clearly affected the supply line, but I can see that abuwear are constantly updating through their social media feeds. Understandable that some people are getting a bit frustrated having to wait, but think of the situation on the ground. The amount of orders that the company probably has to go through has become phenomenal since October, and the difficulty of getting these through Israeli customs and onwards is probably not too easy. If all you want is a photo op with a keffiyeh for your social feeds, then maybe this isn't for you, however if you genuinely want to support Palestinian industries in this situation maybe a bit of patience would be good. Thank you Abuwear.

Some of these reviews show that people lack basic common sense, basic human decency, and patience.

I ordered a kufiya back in November, and I'm still waiting. Am I mad about it? No. Because this company is a small business and there is a literal GENOCIDE happening in Palestine. That means production time, shipping, etc. is going to take a lot longer than usual.

If I have to wait for the next five years for my item, then so be it. The main focus is fighting for a free Palestine and the downfall of its occupiers. I'd like to thank Abuwear for their solidarity with the Palestinian people. Thank you for being a voice for them and fighting for them alongside the rest of us.

Power to the people, viva la resistencia, and most importantly Free Palestine. 🍉🇵🇸

The reviews on here are absurd

The reviews on here are absurd. I also ordered in November and I also emailed hoping to get an update with no personal response (but a general one with a lot more info about the process!) - they have literally explained a billion times that they’re a small company and the demand was insane- plus the ya know, ONGOING GENOCICDE which has complicated the process. They put out as much info as they can . Like get a grip. Get a f/ing grip and think about how lucky you are to have this be your worst problem. If it’s not your worst problem? Then shut up and go do something useful with your time -Sarah

There's a genocide taking place! Where's your patience?

I tried desperately last year to purchase a kufiya from Hirbawi but they're a tiny business in occupied Palestine and getting their beautiful products is like gold dust. I found Abuwear via their page as one of their distributers so I knew I'd be getting a genuine item.
And then it was day after day of horrific news from Palestine and I knew that receiving my order would not only take a long time but honestly wasn't a priority in the least bit because people were being massacred. I follow both Abuwear and Hirbawi on insta along with so many other important accounts keeping me updated with what's going on in Gaza. So any news about a shipment of kufiyas is a moment of joy in endless moments of tears and gut wrenching feelings of helplessness.
Yesterday, I received my first purchase, and I'm ecstatic. I ordered this at the start of December, Abuwear have put notices on their page explaining the difficulties in getting stock and explaining the wait and the reason behind it. I can't fault them at all and I'm just so pleased that I have an opportunity to purchase these beautiful items via them. I have 2 more orders and I can't wait for them to arrive, but in the meantime I will be fighting the fight in my new Kufiya.

I ordered three kufiyas from Abuwear

I ordered three kufiyas from Abuwear, one on the 11th of November and another 2 on the 11th of January. I haven’t sent a single email or message to Abuwear as I completely understand the situation in West Bank and have patiently been waiting for my kufiyas to arrive. Instead I follow the updates on instagram and occasional email newsletter.
Having said that the reason why I gave one star is that despite the difficult situation in Palestine there are still more efficient ways to manage pre-orders, for example like kufiya.org (another official supplier for Hirbawi kufiyas that operates from Germany). They make pre-orders possible only when they know exact stock and kufiya styles that will be available in the next restock. When pre-order is made they provide you estimated shipping time and once they receive their stock they contact you again with the exact shipping date. In this way, although it can be quite challenging to make a pre-order once you’re notified of the stock, at least there is a transparency of what is available and when you can expect it.
The pre-order system at Abuwear allows you to make pre-order for any kufiya of your liking but there is no guarantee that those will be shipped in the next restock. In this way regardless of when you placed the order you will only receive it once it’s available and someone else who placed their order well after you might get their order before you simply because they got lucky that the style they ordered has actually been restocked.

Fantastic small business

Have ordered a few times - quality and service is always fantastic!

Have ordered a Kufiya and I cannot wait to receive it. Amazing that we can get an authentic Kufiya, made in Palestine, here in Belfast.

Unbelievable that there are people leaving negative reviews here because they have to wait - this is a small business supporting another business in a country which is under seige.

Keep up the great work folks, looking forward to recieving my Kufiya and will most certainly be ordering again. 🇵🇸👏

I ordered a few kufiyas for some friends that share my solidarity in support for palestine and ordered one for myself way back in November. I recently discovered thru 23andMe that I am very irish and wanted to show even more support so I ordered one in the colors of the Irish flag not that long ago. I have been patiently waiting, always checking my emails for an update but never one to complain because I completely understand I am not the only one that has pre ordered and willing to wait as long as it takes or if for some unforseen circumstance it gets canceled. To see these hateful messages treating this wonderful company that is not only helping get product in but spreading awareness like they should be top priority and Amazon. Getting their stuff instantly. What greedy, selfish people who have ordered these beautiful kufiyas for the wrong reasons. I hope going forward these people realize the error of their ways. Thank you for all that you guys do in helping Palestine🙌🇵🇸🇮🇪
