I still have profiles (registered one day ago and thanks to truspilot i stop even consider a possibility to pay for those "services"). Today they sent me an email with a photo of a guy and little note that he, allegedly, texted me. Quick image search - photo taken from a shutterstock or other photo bank, and that guy is a face of laser removal clinic in japan to construction site in canada. Are they scammers? Oh pretty much for sure. And probably they split their income with matchmaking agencies who recommend their website when people can't afford to pay $1000+ directly for their matchmaking services.

They are a SCAM. DO NOT USE
They take money out of your account and do not allow you to cancel. This is not a legit website but is there to scam people. Took out 3 times the amount out of my credit card and refused to return it. Never used the site but they were happy to take my money!

I should have checked Trustpilot before submitting a payment. There is almost nothing you can do but to suscribe to their premium abbonnement. If after 1 or 2 days of use you are not happy with the service ( which is really poor by the way) you write to them and say that you want to get refunded you only receive 400 DKK back and they steal 300 DKK because the scam is that you have accepted the terms and conditions. Although those terms and conditions clearly say you can withdraw within 14 days. SCAM + THIEVES!
Update. Academic singles keep insisting of not refunding 300 dkk of 716 dkk.
The below extract comes from your your terms and conditions:
“10. **Right of Withdrawal; Information on Exercising the Right of Withdrawal**
**Right of Withdrawal**
You have the right to withdraw from this agreement without reason within 14 days.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the date on which the agreement was concluded.”
I have contacted Academic Singles for withdrawal two days later. Stil back and forth about the remaining 300 dkk. Only when fully refunded I will consider to change my review here. Thanks in advance for understanding.

This website is a massive scam.
I made the huge mistake of making a subscription and lo and behold, they don't let me cancel it.
Wrote to their customer service but they redirected me to their "main page" where I should find this elusive cancellation request form.
Of course, their main pages only shows compatibilities and nothing else, there is no form.
The only way to contact them is through email and fax.
I am from the EU and it is my right to cancel within the first 14 days of the contract, but this website WILL NOT let me have the cancellation request form and keep stalling my cancellation.
This is obviously with bad intent and to scam people.
Please never make this mistake and no matter how bored you are, never subscribe to them.
LE: Emma, please spare me. The link to the "form" is only available if you sign out of the account, which none of you said. Clearly, I am not the only person to have had this issue, which shows your employer intentionally withholds information to make it more difficult for people to cancel, so they can continue to leech them off of their money.
I hope you can find a better job, Emma, one that you can actually be proud of.
I am pretty sure I should be reimbursed for the fee already paid, since I cancelled earlier than 14 days.
Also, wow, fax, you don't say! Do you also accept messenger pigeons?
Seriously, this website made me incredibly upset, how you take advantage of people that are feeling lonely. Shame on you!

I would like to rate with ZERO stars
I was FRAUDED
I thought I only subscribed for 1 month, and it turned out that they keep on charging.
When I sent them to stop 🛑 the subscription, they said you have to pay another 2 months before we stop your subscription.
I stopped my card, and they are threatening, if I don’t pay that they will take further measures.
Why would they renew a subscription without my approval?
I am one among hundreds that they did that to them.
They take advantage that not all clients & subscribers read the terms & policies
Who reads all those pages of terms & policies for a dating site?
They just want to fool and steal you.
I advise Everyone to run away before they get their credit card 💳 robbed without knowing, because they didn’t read the terms and conditions that allows the site to renew your premium subscription without letting you know, and when you block your card, they will chase you

Tried for three months. Not many members , monthly charges are very expensive. Not safe , You can put any datas in Your profile, they do not control this at all. Also when I wanted to delete the profile I got this info:Bardzo przepraszamy. Usunięcie profilu jest w tej chwili niemożliwe. Skontaktuj się z działem obsługi klienta, aby uzyskać pomoc: serwis

Be aware,big scam site
I bought a month subscription on 27. 07.2024 and în 28. 08.2024 I have received from the bank the information that they are trying to withdraw a huge amount of money from my account. I wanted only a month suscription and not more. They will automaticaly renew your subscription without your permission for 3, 6 or more month . Also I am sure that law about protecting personal data are not ok so I could report this, too. This automaticaly renew of the subscription is a scam. I also send them e-mail to ask them to cancel my account and they refuse this untill I don't make another payment for another month( a payment which is 4 times higher then the first month that I agreed with) It is obviously thst this site is made to scam people and I don't understand how come the institutions from our state did not take any legal actions against them. Stay away from this site. Maybe some information about what is going on with this site on the news on all the TV Chanels will help? Please eliminate immediately my account

If anyone is looking for the cease membership form, you must log out. It does not appear if you are logged in. It is located in very small print on the bottom of their home page. The form wants many details most of which you wont remember and dont expect to find them in your account as they are not available. If you remembered to keep the initial welcome to your membership email - (I didnt), they may be there. It is impossible to know what membership period you were allocated as this wasnt your decision, it was decided for you by the company. You could try and contact the customer service, but you most likely wont get a response, probably not their fault given they are inundated with numerous complaints. I have tried to cancel my very disappointing membership, but without the details of my account I dont have much hope. I would like to request that the kind folks behind this review page, are able to help out.

BUYER BEWARE – I signed up for a free one month trial, but the site was not great –I got bombed with up to 30 emails a day with so many obvious fakes I couldn't be bothered with it and diverted all Academic Singles (AS) email to junk mail just to keep my email address useable. But I struggled to unsubscribe.
Then in September 2023 they took $430 out of my account with no prior notice that the free period was soon to end and no prior notice of the cost. Even had i liked the site I would not have agreed to that price.. I was within the 14 day notice period, so I tried again to unsubscribe and get a refund. The web-based option to unsubscribe on their site did not work despite many attempts. I emailed the Academic Singles customer service twice – who completely ignored my requests. Then I read reviews like this....I figured they were not going to give my $430 back, so I thought OK I have a one year subscription – maybe I‘ll look at it some time? Big mistake! I didn’t use the service, but now I am being pursued for $1000.
New charges and breach of contract: Remember I said I had to divert the AS emails to junk mail? I missed a request from Academic Singles for $450 this March - they neglected to inform me my first $430 was for 6 months only. – [Are you kidding? who charges $900 per annum for access to a dating website??]
Debt collector: I only found out about any of this when I got requests from their debt collector who –has managed to double the amount originally asked for having sent me two emails – They now want NZ $1,000 for this website I have never used. I read a review on this site that identified their debt collector as a scammer who has been banned by the ECC.
However AS in breach of contract. Clause 3.1 of Academic Singles Terms and conditions state “ Before a paid service is used, the customer must be notified ….what payments will be due upon purchase, and the term of the contract.” Had AS informed me that my subscription term was only for 6 months – believe me, I would not have let this situation drift!
I think their business practices are not well intentioned. I am not sure what to do but thought I could l report them to our Commerce Commission an suggest Netsafe put out some warnings. . want Academic Singles and their debt collectors to formally drop their request for further funds, and ensure there is no impact on my credit rating, but I think this is unlikely and so will consult a lawyer.
Anyway that's my public service broadcast done! My advice –Do not go there!

They are literally scamming you. I had written to them months ago to cancel my subscription. however, they never did and now after six months i got charged $432! I sent them an email again to demand they give my money back but they havent replied. They dont even have a contact no to customer service!!! This service should be shut down!!!

I signed up for this site, the pricing offers are NOT clear at all. I signed for the 1 month membership AND NOT A 1 WEEK ONE, THIS IS UTTERLY HUMILIATING and it is clearly stated in Italian it is €14,99 al mese, per 1 mese) non prendetemi in giro!!! However you took 4 months worth - charging €59,96?!?!?!?)...to add that there were other rates available (6 months at €4,99 and 3 months at €7,99...if I recall correctly), are you kidding me, this makes NO sense!!! Second problem, in the region where I live the app for android is not even available...and lastly, there are very few subscribers (or I must be uglier than sin 😉).
PLEASE ELIMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMWDIATELY, APPARENTLY YOU DON'T RESPOND TO YOUR OWN INTERNAL EMAIL WHICH I SENT 4 DAYS AGO.
