What a fantastic company! From the booking to the instructions to the actual activities, I was so impressed with every detail. We are a family of 7 with 5 kids, ranging from 6 to 17. We wanted to give our older kids a more "high adventure" type of activity, but wanted to include our younger kids as well. We weren't sure what to expect, but Daryl tailored everything to our abilities during the climbing portion, giving options for both the older kids and younger ones. After assessing our skills, he took a chance on us with a bit more difficult caving experience, confident we could help the little kids through, and it was incredible! We were left with amazing memories together and are eager to plan our next adventure with them!! Thank you, Acclimbatize, for an unforgettable experience!

brilliant company, brilliant staff, great days out

We are a family of 4, with 2 kids aged 11 & 13. We’ve been indoor climbing for many years now and approached Acclimbatize to help us transition from the wall to the crag. The experience was excellent. From initial contact with Sam, who explored what we wanted to achieve, to our day with Daryl on the crag. We came away having learnt what we needed to be safe on the crag, and mindful of what we still needed to learn. Daryl has given us the starting blocks for our outdoor climbing adventures and did it in a knowledgeable, fun and well taught way. Thanks all, we’ll be back to progress our skills!

Daryl is a phenomenal guide with a great deal of experience. We were first time vertical cavers, and he provided a challenging and varied day out below Castleton. Thanks!

We were met by Chris in the morning as he measured us and explained what was planned for the day. We did a full day of mine exploration which covered 2 different mines.
Chris was an excellent leader and explained things about the mines as we explored. There were some very tight gaps to squeeze through and at some stages my wife was very nervous about fitting through the spaces, but Chris was there to support us all and encourage us to make the squeeze. We did a little abseil of about 20M into the cave on the afternoon and had a few rope assisted climbs too.
Over all a thoroughly enjoyable day. Acclimbatize were very easy to deal with and made organisation very simple even though I changed the date twice and even cancelled at one stage due to Covid. When next in the area we will definitely look at booking an activity with them.

We were a family group with a VERY mixed level of climbing ability and very little experience of anything remotely resembling the beauty of the Peak District.

Daryl met us at an easy to get to location and we followed him to a spot near Stannage Edge already busy with climbers, walkers and hikers.

He got us warmed up with some great familiarisation exercises which the kids loved, then after a clear safety demonstration he was off up the cliff face to set up our first climb.

We had a great time during our half day session. Daryl was super knowledgable and also pushed us to try harder climbs. To cater for such a mixed group couldn't have been easy, but he made sure there was something for everyone.

Absolutely loved our climbing experience. Was just me and the hubby and a really awesome dude called Andy showing us the ropes (literally).
Andy was very knowledgeable and made the experience a lot of fun for the both of us, first scaling a particular rock face and then abseiling into a cave and climbing out.
We both had the best time, it was hard work but in a good way that left us both in agreement we would do it again.
I cannot recommend this company enough, everything from booking to the actual day was well organised and efficient.
We will definitely be booking with these guys again for our next trip to the peaks!

Instructer Chaz was super knowledgeable and helpful. Arrived early, knew the rocks and routes to test our ability well. 10/10 would reccomend and come again

Fantastic experience! I have no idea how the guys coped with taking our group complete novices and putting them through their paces, but it was a laugh from start to finish.
We are already talking about booking again next year and will be back for more climbing, canoeing and abseiling!

Such a fun trip out canoeing on the Derwent! A surprise for my husband's birthday, he enjoyed it so much and was smiling for the rest of the day. Sam and Chris were really welcoming and Chris taught us well as we moved down the river towards Matlock Bath. I'd 100% do this again and recommend to anyone else - such a new way to see the local area and wildlife too. We saw a Kingfisher!

highly experienced guides with top humour. the Canoeing route in Buxton had amazing scenery with tons of beautiful places to stop for a break.

We decided on our trip to the Peak District to have a go at canoeing as a family. Whilst we could have found somewhere to hire and go for it ourselves we thought it would be much better to go with an experienced person who would teach some skills, without which I'm sure we would have just gone around in circles and got very frustrated with each other. Chris was fantastic in teaching us various skills and we had a fabulous time. Would go again !

Great day of canoeing on the River Derwent with Pro Venture.

My 11 year old daughter and I had done a little canal based canoeing in the summer but wanted to experience some river paddling.

Chris the instructor was excellent - very calm, patient and attentive. He stuck very close to us in his own canoe for the full day/14km trip and we felt in very safe hands.

We were blessed with a lovely sunny morning to start off in and we were told near perfect river levels.

There was the perfect mix of some nice easy paddling and quite a few faster bits of water for a little more challenge and excitement, plus the opportunity to have a go at some new skills playing in the moving water. But there was nothing too difficult or scary - the day was perfectly pitched for our beginner/improver level.

Good to see some wildlife too - several kingfishers, heron, grey wagtails and dippers.
