A terrible experience. Acorn cannot improve their continued years of scamming. Foolish am I to want to follow a series & sign up again × 6 months. My cancellation of subscription last February,... See more

Beware- false advertising
Acorn took my money but the show I wanted that they claimed was on their channel is “unavailable”. When I found this out I immediately cancelled but I am out the money anyway. They say the show is available with my subscription until April 18 but it is not. Beware
Cancelled the subscription and they…
Cancelled the subscription and they still took money for the subscription. I’ve been trying to get my refund for over 2 months and they aren’t responding to my emails at all anymore. Acorn TV is a rip off. The service never worked properly in the first place. Now I’m scammed out of the $70 for a cancellation.
Using Too Many Devices Message
I, too, have problems with freezing, sometimes frequently, despite very high speed (I checked) A bigger issue is that I often get a message that says I am using Acorn on too many devices, which is not true. It seems very likely that there is a defect in their coding, as when I try to re-watch a program, it won't allow me to do it, and moves ahead to the next program. If I try to go back, I get the "too many devices" message, so that's another problem with the coding. Customer support is no help, as this is a coding issue. I have explained to them about when the problems occur, but they have yet to fix it. Like many customer support departments, they take you through a raft of "solutions," none of which solve the problem because the problem is not with my computer. Poor problem-solving there.
I tried their seven day trial…
I tried their seven day trial membership and tried to cancel it at the end of seven days. I must’ve been a day late so they charge me for a full year.
However, then they cancelled my current subscription, even though they had charged me. Now I’m out $80 and I can’t access my account. I have been trying to resolve this with them. But no one gets back to you.
If this is an example of the kind of business practices, they allow in the UK then it’s no wonder that it’s going downhill.
They really don’t have any concept of what customer service means.
Content they display is not actually available
There were two shows I was interested in watching so I subscribed to Acorn TV as it showed them in their selection. In each case, they had maybe 1 or 2 episodes out of 20+ episodes. The rest just said ‘video unavailable’. Pages and pages of video unavailable. I’m sorry, don’t say you have a show unless you have at least one full season of it.
Very limited viewing for New Zealand
Very limited viewing for New Zealand. Far less access to content than when I viewed a few years ago. Also not much had changed in content since a few years when I was last subscribed.
HORRIBLE DO NOT Use
this site does not work. Videos play through in seconds. Also keeps saying too many people using account when there is only one person, one device, one attempt. Deserves 0 stars not one. Date of experience is every few days for years!!!! WORST streaming site EVER. CONSTANT problems. No resolution. Overpaid for over a year. No refund. No service. DO NOT USE
I do not even have TV
I do not even have TV. I have never signup, just noticed they charged my credit card!
I did a free trial for 7 days
I did a free trial for 7 days. Found limited viewing for New Zealand, the show have either been on tvnz or kanopy and you tube. If I tick cancel membership it says we are having trouble canceling the account. Customer service was to know why I want to cancel. OmG!
Cannot reach customer support
Could not access programming. Tried to reset password and was sent to a fraudulent link by the acorn tv app. This is very concerning. I purchased a year subscription, cannot get help and cannot access the programming. The programming is very good, but there is absolutely no customer service.
Amazon prime video scam
Worth reporting to police after funds stolen. Amazon subscribed me to Acorn TV twice without my knowledge - the first time, Amazon admitted their mistake. The next time I was told that one of my devices was used, then that I'd been hacked (by an Amazon Prime company?). No response to my complaint except to blame me.
No! Stay away!!! Incredibly difficult to manage your account! Heaps of ways this website manipulates you!!! Stay away and do not give this site your account details
Incredibly difficult to negotiate this site..
I suspect it is a bogus site
Downloaded app which worked once
Downloaded app which worked once. Then would repeatedly fail at point of selecting a programme. Usually would then freeze. Wasted several hours including on a full reinstall. And trying a different device. Have managed I think to cancel within the 7 day free period. Don't waste your time on this.
Beware of this company.
Only put 1 star as you have to put something.
Do not join this company. They continue to charge without permission.
Cannot contact anyone to talk to about this unless you pay to join another company to investigate. Why should I pay to talk to someone about this issue.
This appears to be an unethical company
If anyone can advise me how to address the issue of continued charging of account withou permission please let me know. G
DO NOT USE ACORN!!
TERRIBLE PLATFORM AND IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!!
I never leave reviews but this was so bad I had to. I have never experienced such a shocking platform. I did a 7 day free trial, started watching a great series but it was very difficult to cast to the TV, every night it would take about 30mins of trying to get it to work before I could watch anything. I was hooked on the series so put up with it until I'd finished it.
I then tried to cancel, but they pulled every dirty trick in the book to stop me from cancelling. First I logged into my account and it had a very misleading page which showed my membership as not active, as if it had automatically been cancelled. I almost left it thinking I might have cancelled it already and forgotten, but I searched and found a more hidden cancel button. But when I clicked it it came up with a message saying that they couldn't cancel my membership due to technical difficulties and to send an email.
The email address THEY PROVIDED in this message was for a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMPANY! It took several messages going back and forward with this company when they were telling me they couldn't find my account, before they realised that I had contacted the wrong company (because Acorn sent me there!)
I am sure what they are doing can't be legal. DO NOT JOIN!
Impossible to cancel
Impossible to cancel . Beware. They offered me a free month to stay with them and I was charged. And again I was charged after cancelling in the app. Their support does not help.
The worst worst worst of them all.
The worst worst worst of them all.
No communications
Some series with 8 episodes they only stream 3 episodes!!!!! Very very annoying!!!!
But the worst part is you cant cancel, youcant communicate, somebody should put the through the court!!!
Quit working after several weeks
Quit working after several weeks, none of the technical suggestions from Acorn or Samsung fixed it. I rebooted, cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled , signed out and back in........and of course they will not prorate and refund the rest of my year subscription. Playback is a nightmare.
I have been trying to cancel my Acorn…
I have been trying to cancel my Acorn Tv subscription but they keep coming up with the same thing cannot find me under my email address even though they can manage to reply with these excuses to my email. They have asked me to send them a my details ( email address, bank account it is being paid for as they do not have it) but they managed to take £49.99 even though they don't have my bank details.
We have tried over and over again to…
We have tried over and over again to cancel our subscription, as we no longer watch Acorn TV. We have not been able to cancel! They say our email address is wrong, or it's another issue! We contacted xfinity and they said we have to contact Acorn! What insanity! In the meantime, Acorn gets our money for something we are not using and cannot cancel!!!!! And xfinity won't help us!
