Poor Customer Services and spending money elsewhere - AVOID!

Viewed webpage today, wasn't sure about the spec of the bike, saw a number in the top corner of their web page, called it.
Got a 'Mark' on the end of the phone, asked if he could assist with a bike i'm thinking of buying online. He was sarcastic, unhelpful, criticised me for not using the online facility, told me I was just like a 1000 other customers he has to advise to do the same, said what he was telling me about the spec he could not guarantee.
I escalated this to their customer services via email, guess what, Mark's the best mechanic they've got but they're happy for him to lose them business. In addition, even the sales team criticised me saying the bike was out of stock, couldn't I SEE that, highlighting this with exclamation marks. But their web page allows we to select and put the item i wish to purchase and go through the 'basket checkout'. I really thought they would listen, typical online company who thinks they do not have to WOW customers to get business. I've taken my business elsewhere. Maybe Mark in the mechanic's department may not have much work to do if they cannot sell bikes ! shocking

The email for availability goes directly to our warehouse team who can assist you. our telephone number is linked to the store not warehouse, explaining this process to Craig was extremely difficult, Craig got very upset on the phone we could not control his emotions hence this outcome.

such a shame Craig could not of emailed we have a better substitute for this bike to offer customer.

Terrible patronising and demanding …

Terrible patronising and demanding customer service. I received an email to let me know that the bike I ordered was out of stock which was fine, it happen, and offered an alternative which I wasn't keen on. When I didn't reply I was harassed by the phone sales team who demanded that I 'open my email and reply to their offer right away' Will never shop at Active Sport again. I have no idea how they have such a high score considering the amount of people who seem to have had the same experience as me.

We sent Jenna several emails and got no replies so we presumed she must have our email address in her spam settings, hence calling her to alert this may be the case, the phone call was merely to advise that she had several email messages sent and could she please reply to them.
reply - yes happy with replacement no please cancel order.
must of court jenna on a bad morning when we called as we demanded nothing but alerted her to the need to reply to any of the emails sent.
sorry we upset you with the phone call this was never the intention.

Easily got refund on accidentally …

Easily got refund on accidentally placed order. Only took a star off because man who answered phone immediately cut me up by interrupting what I was saying and put me on hold. Sure, he had his reasons, but it felt kind of bad to be brushed off like that. In all fairness he did apologise afterwards but still.

Their system did not allow partial refunds so the entire order had to be cancelled, but this is not a problem. I can just place another. Oddly enough the email I got from the warehouse after placing the order was written with lots of typos. Furthermore despite the email saying online orders cannot be cancelled over the phone, it seems a bit odd that they have no co-operation between their store and warehouse. They could have used a system that lets them do this internally?

Ordered a very specialist part they had …

Ordered a very specialist part they had in stock (connectamajig for a reverb) at 10.00am from their website after speaking with them on the phone. Came next day signed for delivery no problems. Above and beyond to get me out riding this weekend!

Complete time wasters and rude too!

Complete time wasters who don't even have good manners on their side! They advertise items that are discontinued such as the bike I tried to buy. I got an order acknowledgement and when i queried why the payment didn't process they just sent me a pretty rude email saying they didn't stock it and therefore I couldn't have placed the order (even though i quoted the order number). No apology for clearly rubbish system or waste of time.
Looking back these guys have always had rubbish reviews but i was surprised Trustpilot seemed to have about 4 out of 5 stars. Clearly they are still rubbish so i wonder how they got their positive reviews.....?

Sorry Ian we were unable to assist you its in our interest to sell bikes and we do our best to put people on seats.

The bike was 100% available we had one bike left in stock, the customer did not process a payment, no payment = no order and the stock remains on the internet.

in this case another buyer purchased the bike and paid for it Ian Pugh order was cancelled when his payment did not process.

as regards our manner we have a completely different story.

CX Shoes

I was trying to purchase a pair of xc shoes that had been discontinued but a few pairs remaining, although they did not have my size they offered me the upgraded new version at a great price, definitely the cheapest on the open market. Great service and I will shop again.

Shimano S-Phyre XC9 MTB shoes in shimano blue

Ordered on Monday, dispatched same day and delivered by courier the very next day, so less than 24 hours from order to delivery. Arrived well packaged and exactly as ordered, very pleased and would definitely recommend ActiveSport and buy from them again myself. Thank you.

Excellent range of components, great communication, great service

I was delighted to find a one-stop-shop for all the Hope components I needed for a hub rebuild. I emailed in to check they were actually in stock and received a prompt reply stating 3 out of the 4 parts were in, 1 needs ordering in but that it can be ordered immediately. This happened on Monday and all parts delivered on Thursday - given the low cost of the non-stocked component I was surprised at the speed of fulfillment, as I imagined they would have had bigger fish to fry.

I must say that I was initially skeptical about this retailer having read one negative view (why do we always focus on the bad stuff?) and being concerned about the retro-feel of their website. Maybe we have become too accustomed to CRC's slick web platform and base our trust on that alone....judging a book by its cover again.

This is a good shop - I will be a return customer when ever I need a niche part for my various hope wheel / brake setup.

Dreadful customer service & items not actually in stock - Would NEVER use again, I would advise you to browse these reviews before considering to use these guys.

I ordered & paid in full with shipping costs, only to receive an email saying the items were not in stock and would need to ordered from the UK distributer, and that there was no fixed time on when the parts would be available. I agreed to this and asked to be kept updated with the order progress. After no contact for a month, I emailed Activesport, to ask for an update & was sent the following reply. (this is the full email)

"We have no idea when they will be available sorry"

I cancelled the order & asked to be refunded my money, and sourced the parts elsewhere within two days, only to be sent another email stating that the parts were never in stock in the first place.
I would never use this company again, and would urge anyone else thinking of using them because their prices are good, to think carefully & read through all the reviews on here before parting with your cash.

Excellent first class service

After a mistake with my postcode, on my behalf, they were straight on the phone and emailing me, it was put right and my much needed part arrived the next morning, excellent communication and services 👌🏻👍🏻😉

Very good customer service

Recently bought pedals from this company. I had to request a change in my original order due to my mistake however this was quickly remedied by ActiveSport, with a no hassles refund. The delivery was also quick. But what was even better was the communication which was immediate and designed to make sure everything went smoothly. Based on this level of service I would definitely use this company again.
