Dodgy
Dodgy . They wrote they had no idea where my parcel was and had ‘no evidence of it ever arriving ‘ and then I got a notification a few hours later it was at Heathrow ! But of a dodgy service . I spent an hour in the phone to DPD trying to find out where the courier had left the parcel . Head done in . Won’t use again.
Adding fees and Over Charging
Ordered an item from the USA and have since provided an invoice as proof of payment/purchase. AddressPal then went on to request over 50% the total value of goods. Furthermore they now refuse to answer my emails in order to get this mater resolved. Extremely unprofessional. I will NOT be using again. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
I find AddressPal great
I find AddressPal great, I use it for products from both USA and UK. Good value shipping charges for the weight and easy to pay any import duties via online reference
Been using the USA Addresspal service…
Been using the USA Addresspal service since January 2023 and I love the service super fast if I’ve ever got an issue or enquiry about how much I was charged for VAT I just contact anpost and they resolve it for me! Brilliant customer service
AddressPal is a great service
There are so many negative reviews here, but many people who are critical do not seem to understand what this service is: in particular it is NOT a way of avoiding import VAT and other taxes in Ireland, which are payable at 23% on the whole cost of the item+shipping (with a few exceptions, such as books). All agents charge a handling fee, and the EUR3.50 charged by An Post is less than that typically charged by Couriers like FedEx.
My experience is all positive and the cost, particularly for heavier items, is reasonable. For example, the cost for a 4lb/2kg package from the US to Ireland by the cheapest international airmail service offered by USPS is around USD70, compared to only EUR15.99 by Addresspal. And included in the Addresspal service is the preparation of the CN22/23 Customs Form. This a bargain.
The typical delay from the time the package is received by AddressPal in NJ to the time I receive the package in Ireland, including Customs processing, is around 12 business days. Of course, I'd like a faster service, but this delay is typically the same as direct mailing via the more expensive USPS.
Addresspal - A Complete Failure to Deliver
Addresspal. Expected it to fail. It did.
First time using this. Wanted to try out their parcel lockers. First delivery notification said it would deliver to my billing address. Called them. They said I would have option to re-direct to a locker. Got this option a few days later and set it to deliver to a parcel locker.
Today a delivery attempt was made at my billing address. My working hours are the same as theirs so I will lose this item and all the costs assiociated with it.
Hopeless.
Date of experience: 07 February 2023
13th Feb EDIT: It's actually much worse. Still waiting. It's the very definition of ineptitude.
Closing account with them.
Enough
Enough. Absolutely awful customer service, plus withholding of items with no explanation. There are other providers as Atvido and etc.
Great service when you follow the…
Great service when you follow the instructions properly and understand that the charges don’t cover customs fees etc. I’ve been able to get some items from the US that are impossible to get over here, and they’ve been delivered quickly without any hassle. The only time I had a problem was when the retailer didn’t put the APW number on the address label, but that was resolved by address pal customer services in the end. Great service that I will continue to use, and happily recommend. Just make sure to follow the instructions for the address and you’ll be fine.
This is one of the best service…
This is one of the best service ever, saves me slot of money and hassle,I used to use FedEx but got sick of the endless letters saying I didn't pay when I did, this is a nonsense service 5 stars
Great Service
People rarely write reviews about good experiences and since I've never had any issues with AddressPal I thought it was only fair to add my review.
I use it to buy from places that don't ship to Ireland.
It's not intended to be a hack to avoid paying unavoidable customs charges. Address Pal can't work around that.
Snail speed delivery
Never dealt with a slower delivery company! Parcels always seem to sit in their depots for days before they even scan them in. They price it as 6.50 then add on 3.50 every time so why not just charge 10 euro standard and not waste customers time asking them to pay another 3.50? I paid the extra 3.50 within the hour of them sending me the message and I'm still waiting 4 days after paying for them just to release the parcel for delivery.. such a horrible setup they have going on so this will be the last time I use their service. Would be faster ordering from china..
I am only giving a star because I have…
I am only giving a star because I have to. Address Pal should be ashamed as a company and I am very surprised that An Post, who have always been so reliable, continue to provide such an horrendous service. My very sought after Christmas present has been lost despite it arriving at the Hatfield depot. Customer service were awful and lacked any training. Do NOT use this so-called service.
They will open all your parcels and…
They will open all your parcels and replace them in their own boxes , lost medication I had after I sent proof of my prescription, sent me one lot of medicine claimed ignorance for the one that was removed and lost. You’re charge a fee and you’re also charged an extra fee on customs so claims that it cost €6.50 is false, you’re also charged another €3.50 on top of that. I miss parcel motel nothing else comes close and an post pal really don’t care about their customers.
Awful service
Awful service. I have an item sitting in an adresspal depot in the UK for 9 days now. Called customer support and asked them to process and send my package and they said they can't do anything. I guess it'll stay there for a few weeks until they bother to do anything. Happened everytime I use this service. Extortionate rates to use it. Go with another parcel service, plenty of competition out there. This is another inefficient, poor waste of taxpayers money
Address Pal is an excellent service when used correctly
Address Pal is an excellent service but unfortunately its been slated by people who haven't a clue how to use it. I have used address pal numerous of times to order online from America. Its very simple once its used right. I have listed the best ways to use this service particularly when buying from USA.
1. Make sure that you input the exact address for USA that Address Pal gives you. I have experienced that when you confirm your New Jersey postal address the retailer's website might try to alter this or recommend another format of the address. Don't do it just use the address that An Post issues you.
2. When ordering a number of items from the one retailer tell them that you want all items to be sent in one parcel/box. Otherwise they may send individually and you will end up paying the €15.99 numerous times.
3. There is a lot of bad reviews stating that people had to pay customs charges and vat when buying from USA or UK. For those who don't know or understand, these countries are outside of the euro zone so vat and custom charges apply. This is nothing to do with An Post.
I highly recommend the address pal service as it allows me to buy clothing that I can't purchase in Ireland.
So to summarise, use the service correctly and you'll have no issues.
I was freaking out reading the reviews…
I was freaking out reading the reviews here but I had a good enough experience. I slept on a really nice pillow in my friends house in America and when I got home I wanted to order it.
It wasn’t available online anywhere in Europe . So the only place selling the pillow was a store in USA. I set up the address with address pal with no issue.
It all went fine from the notifications i got from addresspal and from customs etc. It is pricy but I think I was prepared based on the reviews.. The pillow cost 42 euro.. The customs was 16.99 and addresspal was another 15.99 so it almost doubled the price of the pillow! Was it worth it.. for me 100%!!
AddressPal - Intentionally charged me VAT twice, no way to get proper customer service
Intentionally charged me VAT twice, no way to escalate the issue to a person with knowledge. I raised it with An Post e-commerce support and just got a canned answer which assumed that it was just a normal package coming from the UK (not via AddressPal). Seems to be that when they redirect the post in the UK they don't complete the customs for correctly. No direct customer service from AddressPal. I'll never use them again.
No problems.
I've used Addresspal for about five years and always got an excellent service.
I am surprised to see so many negative reviews.
Customer service call you names and hang up!!
The most unprofessional, rude unqualified and untrained customer service agents ever!! I called to complain, she called me names and said she didn't have to deal with this and hung up on me!! A whole new level of customer care!
Overcharges and takes too long
