Not seen outcome as hoped.
Felt communication whilst our Viszla was at the Chesterfield branch could have been more frequent and since emailed for some advice and not had a response. Since retuning home we have continued with the training and advice but our lad still seems to struggle on the lead and especially off. His recall is worse than before he went. Might just be he’s a stubborn boy but was hoping the two weeks would have helped.
Overall I think a good relationship was built with our dog and we have had a small improvement but I wouldn’t say we overall feel satisfied with the result especially considering the cost.

Drastic improvement in lead walking
Mac spent 17 days with Danny and his lead walking has changed dramatically for the better. He now walks happily beside us instead of pulling hard on his lead! When we picked Mac up, Danny had kindly washed Mac for us, removed the knots in his fur and also washed his bed for us! Highly recommend.

Suki
We took our very nervous German Shepherd Suki to ADK9 for some leash training and confidence building. Danny was her trainer and we are so thankful to him for all his hard work. She is so much better now on leash, hardly any pulling and responds to the commands Danny showed us. We can see a big difference in her confidence as well. She still forgets herself now and again but soon rights herself when she realises what we want her to do.Thankyou so much Danny and ADK9 we are carrying on your training and Suki is doing so well.
Many thanks,
Wendy and Jamie x

Brilliant Service
We dropped our 2.5 year old cockerjack and 1.5 year old cocker spaniel for 12 days of training with ADK9. Arthur, our cockerjack has been for odd days training before and we saw a big difference in him even then. This time we thought our dogs had been swapped for different ones!! Danny was our trainer and he provided us with regular updates and pictures, and reassurance that they were having fun and doing well. When we came to pick them up, he brought them out one by one. Our main issue was both of them pulling on the lead, but when Danny walked out with them they were both walking to heel despite the distraction of us. Danny spent a good hour with us talking us through how to recreate this behaviour through training. We have had them home for a week today and although they are not perfect with us yet, they are so so much better, and they really respond to the commands that Danny showed us. We cannot thank the team enough, we actually look forward to taking our boys for walks now rather than feeling like our arms are going to drop off! I would reccommend ADK9 to anybody who has training needs. Thank you!!

Has made a real difference!
We have a beautiful 1 year old Labrador that we got as a puppy, he would pull so much on walks, jumped up at people and dogs and would try and pull you across the road to get to another dog. After 3 weeks at ADK9 (he got back 3 weeks ago) walks are now a joy rather than a chore! The pulling is almost now non existent and the reactivity to people and other dogs has improved so much. He’s not an angel yet, but during the handover time Danny and his team spent a considerable amount of time with us showing us what to do and what he has been doing with Benji, this has given us so much confidence and we are sure the people/dog reactivity will only continue to improve in the coming weeks and months.
In addition, he is just a lot calmer and listens more which can be seen in the way he is around the house and my office! Benji will definitely be going back to ADK9 to work on his house manners (barking and sitting on furniture!) when we next go on holiday!

OUTSTANDING!
OUTSTANDING!! We brought our 10 month old staffie Diesel. To say he pulled was an understatement, he would give me rope burn from pulling him back so much. From arriving at ADK9 Chesterfield we were greeted with such happy and energetic staff. To see our dog drag the trainer into the yard we thought he could never be changed. However, 2 weeks later. Danny, walked out with diesel by his side. We were expecting him to get hyper and pull to want to say hello to us, this was not the case. Danny, walked diesel at heal around us without him reacting. He then sat diesel down next to us and used a command to “break” and he came and said hello. Never in a million years would I have thought that our dog could even do that. I can’t thank Danny and the staff enough for helping us. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely be using again for boarding.

Harper our St Bernard at the Chesterfield Site
Harper had 2 weeks at the Chesterfield site with Danny and the team. Harper is a very strong and strong minded St Bernard who we have being struggling with her getting over excited, jumping up people and going mad when ever another dog was seen, also her recall off the lead was none existant.
After 2 weeks training what a change.
Using the slip lead that they provide you with gives you so much control when out walking, her heal walking is now perfect, he attitude when she meets other dogs is so much better that she will even sit whilst I chat to other owners, she still gets a bit excited and tries sometimes to jump up people but a simple pull on the lead and a sit command sorts her out.
Off the lead is still training in progress but compared to where we was she is so much better.
What you have to understand is that its not only the dog that been away for training it is you as well. Danny spent over an hour with us in the rain when we went to collect Harper, going through what we need to do with Harper. If your not going to continue the developement of your dog then you will not reap the benifits of the training. Harper is getting better week after week and hopefully soon she will be fully off the lead at all times when in open spaces. A nice touch is the 2, 1 hour free sessions that you get if you find that your struggling with certain aspect of your dogs behaviour.
A big thankyou to Danny and the team at Chesterfield

Changed our lives for the better
We have had Pumpkin home for a week now and do not regret 1 bit of send her for residential training, I was advised by friends not to do this but I am so glad we did. She is our first German Shepherd and we have struggled for so long with her behaviour towards other dogs when she is on lead, a lot of that is down to how we have approached situations and people’s reactions towards a GSD, I totally lost confidence in handling her around other dogs and this lead to Pumpkin being anxious around others and trying to take control. My 1st walk with her after bringing her home was amazing, I kept checking the lead to make sure she was still attached! We didn’t encounter any other dogs but I didn’t care, it felt amazing. We have now built up to more crowded places and have passed multiple dogs, I am no longer anxious and feel totally in control 😁 She seems to be happier, calmer and less anxious, it has not changed her personality at all, she is still the cheeky little monkey she was before and I cannot wait to book a holiday with her, something we would not of considered before. Thank you Danny and guys at ADK9 you have changed our lives completely and we are so grateful

Transformation of reactive highly strung cockapoo
We recently adopted a 3-year old cockapoo who lived on her nerves and was very reactive to other dogs - a total cow, if I'm honest - and sounds in the home. The team at AK49 said it would be difficult to correct the barking at... everything, given it's a home-based problem, but that they were confident that they could help her be more confident around other dogs. We were nervous sending her somewhere for a residential but honestly, I couldn't see a better alternative to socialise her - we can't do it ourselves, we don't encounter enough dogs out and about that could take her special brand of snarling and biting.
She spent two weeks on a residential in Chesterfield, working with Danny. He - and everyone we encountered - was perfectly lovely, clearly a kind and gentle trainer. They do use slip lead training, but that's it in terms of anything approaching harsh correction (and it's *really* not harsh, not much thinner than the rope slip leads we use at home). Bette clearly adored Danny and everyone there - when they passed us on pick up, milling about the yard, she was eager to say hi to everyone. We were worried about her being kennelled - she's never been kennelled, used to sleep on her previous owner's bed, we were worried she was too princessy for it. I am happy that she was happy during her stay there.
On to the most important thing - the results... She is a changed dog. She is so much more calm - even in the house, where results were not promised. It's like she understands that we've got this, she doesn't need to try and take control of every situation. Therefore now she only barks at the postman or the doorbell - and that's perfectly fine with us, it's broadly helpful in fact, and she can be calmed down easily once she's done her job and let us know Amazon are here... ;-)
With other dogs, she is amazing. We have had a couple of encounters that would previously have been a nightmare. On an early morning walk, three dogs off lead with no owner in sight charged at us out of the darkness. Old Bette would have ended up in a fight. New Bette chased and barked at them - she was off lead too - but came immediately to heel when I realised what was going on and called her back, and critically, didn't go in with her teeth.
Potentially more impressively, we crossed paths with an aggressive dog when both were on lead. The other dog barked and snarled and jumped at her, desperately trying to get at her. Bette was skittish and unhappy, but did not react at all with her teeth or voice, she was happy to be led past without event. It was a narrow pavement, I had two other dogs on leads - it would have been very stressful, pre-Danny.
If I have one complaint, it's that she's maybe toooooo obedient now - seriously. It's difficult to get her to run off lead when it's safe to do so. She is very happy trotting to heel, like the Goodest of Dogs.
Her previous behaviour was troubling to us as we like to go on walking holidays in the UK, taking our dogs to the beach... It would have been impossible with her going for every dog she saw - just not relaxing - but now, I have confidence that she has confidence in us. I can't thank the team enough.

Reactive 11 month old GSD
I have left my beloved 11 month old GSD with Danny for a 2 week training. He was very reactive to other dogs and wanted to chase anything that moved at fast speed which resulted in pulling. I picked him up 2 days ago and the difference in his behaviour is amazing. He is not reacting to other dogs like he did. If he seems interested small corrections and he focuses on me again. My boy seems much happier and relaxed now that he knows what I want him to do and what he should not do. I am continuing with the training twice a day and he seems to enjoy that very much.

We can’t believe the difference in our…
We can’t believe the difference in our dogs after their 2 week stay at ADK9!
We had previously tried other dog trainers and not seen a difference so was dubious that it would work, especially with our 8 year old stubborn Cairn Terrier, old dogs, new tricks and all that!
After a two week training course our two once out of control dogs are now obedient, calm and heaps happier.
Our dogs once ferociously reacted to EVERYTHING; barking at the TV (they hated the moon pigs and money calm bull) Anything moving in front of the house and anyone coming in through the door (regardless of whether they liked you or not)
Walks were horrendous, we had to hide behind cars so they wouldn’t see other dogs, only going out at times when there would be less distractions. They both constantly pulled on the lead, it was a nightmare for us and them, as you could physically see the stress it caused them.
Danny the trainer took us through all he had taught them during their two week stay. We were amazed with the results, literally gobsmacked. The best thing about it is they looked so happy and relaxed to be following Danny’s instructions.
Since being home we have been putting into practice all we have learned. The dogs have not reacted badly to other dogs on walks, a quick instruction stops them even looking at other dogs. They have not barked once at the door, the TV or at the window. (It had got so bad I had to close my blinds during the day, now I don’t have to)
We can’t wait to start enjoying days out with our boys. We can’t thank ADK9 enough.

Absolute transformation
My Labrador went to ADK9 for 10 days she was really boisterous, confrontational with other dogs and dragged me out for walks she came back walking to heal, ignoring other dogs and generally much calmer- I can praise her training enough I would definitely highly recommend them

A totally changed dog for the better!
We took Tilly who is a rescued 2 year old Caucasian Shepherd for training as she was a very nervous dog but at the same time very protective. We had taken her to another trainer before this who gave us a 2 hour slot. The first hour was a video call. The 2nd hour she watched me walk her up and down the street for 20 minutes and nearly bit the postman. Her response was she was untrainable and to take her back to the rescue center!
After 2 weeks of being trained by Danny she is so much more confident. She actually gets excited about going for a walk and I feel more confident taking her now I have their training methods.
I appreciate the slip collar they use is a little tight but in no way hurts or stresses her. If it did she would not get excited when I hold it up. It has to be tight for a reason. If it were loose then the check on her when doing something wrong would be delayed. It is in no way a choke chain.
Tilly is still a little nervous on her walks but with the understanding I know have I corrected her and her confidence grows on everything walk.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has issues. They do amazing work and Tilly was so in love with Danny I didn't think she would want to come home.
I would definitely take her back. Even if it is just for a visit to say hi.

Prada's Mum & Dad response
Our response.
It seems you are very quick to jump at the excuse of miscommunication. I spoke to Alan 2 times about what level of training he could provide. At no point did he say that non of them were possible. Once before booking & the 2nd when dropping Prada off. We then got a message to say Prada had a different trainer. So who was pradas main point of call?
I had given Alan a food routine. He was very keen to get times and what snacks were needed. Her main food is cut down to allow her to have a snack during the day & night as she is still a puppy. Everyone should know pups need extra feeding times. Non of the snacks were touched. So that’s why she lost weight. Why Alan would bother asking about her food if you were going to completely ignore it anyway!
You state you use positive reinforcement training. How can choking a dog be positive??
Her eyes are bald and her ears are inflamed.. this is due to her being chocked for a long period of time. This wire that strangled her neck had no give to it. Once it’s tight it’s stays that way. This was not used in the correct method and you should not state this as a positive way of training. If a dog is suffering like that & not being able to breath this should be taken off as soon as.
We watched Prada drag Alan around with us being in the car. Her eyes were already popping out of her head before she welcomed us.
Since we bought her home, she is uneasy on walk, pacing her bedroom in complete stress and has now attacked our little chihuahua which was her best friend. This is all because of your treatment!
The vets have put Prada on diazepam to try and ease the stress you have caused. We have vet bills and now having to pay for this to rectified.
We are now having to separate our dogs due to the fear of what you have turned out baby into.
You mention the refund.. why would anyone give a refund if they had done their role correctly! Alan could not answer why. He just stood with an attitude. The refund was to give us a quick escape so he didn’t have to confront any of the issues.
Bobby the Staffie, his mum has had major issues with yourselves. She has spent thousands and still spending to rectify what you have done.
I am unable to name the other 2.
I have some questions to ask..
-What they mean by “‘resetting “ prada?
-What is your modification training plan and can i have a copy of the records of her training she had.
-How long a day did she do training?
- What was her daily time table?
-Do you think “a dog can bond in a different environment in two weeks and learn”
- how long it takes cortisol levels to drop?
-How long will it take to decompress ?
- I would like to see the positive based qualifications??
-Do you actually know how long it takes to make a cognitive pathway ?
Also a slip lead is an adverse training tool!!!!
I’m Still awaiting your email!

DO NOT PUT YOUR DOG HERE! ABUSE!
This review is based on facts and my personal experience.
To start we had a very convincing call from Alan when booking in our xl bully for training. He assured us that it would be positive reinforcement training.
When we got there we were prepared. We had a list of what training we required her feeding routine.
Alan asked about her food, I double covered this then asked about the training. I made it VERY clear that the main issues where her pulling on lead, walking up & down stairs (as I live in a first floor flat), jumping up and being able to walk in a busy street. The list also covered stuff like being able to sit and stay at a distance. Prada could already do this in close contact.
Alan again, stated this was positive reinforcement & they learn on tones of voices etc.
2 days in we got a video of Prada walking with a different trainer with a wire around her neck.
Then we called to ask how she is getting on. We got told that it’s in her breed to pull but She was doing well responding to the team. I asked about the stairs and got told she wouldn’t be trained on that as they don’t have stairs and they are not willing to walk her in a high street.
We asked to pick Prada up early due to concerns. When we arrived I I discussed my concerns with Alan. He was dismissive and confident Prada had been trained.
This was a LIE!
We watched Prada pull Alan anywhere she wanted. There was no heal work at all.
When we got out the car I was in shock. She yet again had a wire around her neck, eyes were popping out of her head and bright red. They are bald, her ears are bright red and inflamed. My partner pulled the wire off her and We checked her all over. I was distraught that our girl looked like this. Noticeable weight loss and a timid nature which isn’t like her.
When I confronted this Alan shrugged his shoulders like he didn’t care. I asked how we complain, he sniggered and said ‘erm to me’.
I explained clearly how disgusting his so called positive training is and made him well aware he has strangled my baby for a week. He didn’t cover any of the list at all. She has had been ruined by this horrid place. She has came back a different dog.
I asked for a refund, he stated he was finding it hard to understand where I was coming from.
After listing numerous things and stating this is the most horrendous training I have witnessed he decided to refund me the training aspect and not the boarding. We checked her food bag and no snacks were given. Her food routine and her toys were completely ignored!
This is ANIMAL CRUELTY!
DO NOT LET YOUR DOG SUFFER HERE!
Trading standards & spca are being contacted!
I have now found out 3 other family’s have experienced the same thing, one even going as for a court.
Alan is rude, has no idea how to train dogs and should be shut down immediately.

Amazing.!!!!
Absolutely recommend this place. I have a dog reactive greyhound and a people reactive staffy (and a lack of general manners) after there 2 week course with Danny as there trainer it's like I have 2 new dogs the change in them is incredible. I also now have the tools and knowledge to continue with the hard work and effort back home knowing if I stumble across any issues they are just an email away to support us.
I honestly can't thank Danny enough for his help in turning my two around especially the little monster she must of tested his patience 🤣
If you have a dog with issues it's honestly the best place you could bring them.

Highly Recommend…
We took our reactive 2 year old rottweiler Eddie for a 2 week residential course. Feeling very anxious, we dropped him off thinking at the worst he'd be getting used to new strangers. After the longest 2 weeks ever, we picked up a new dog! A staff member even commented that they'd miss him, something I never thought anyone would say! Jordan taught him to walk to heel and ultimately who's boss! We had no idea of all the little things we'd been doing wrong. With their guidance, Eddie no longer pulls on the lead and seems more relaxed when we take control. It's been at least a fortnight since his last lunge. We still have a long way to go, but couldn't have got to where we are now without ADK9, can't thank you all enough. Eddie's looking forward to his boarding stay in November.
