As a regular traveller I dislike airlines that for no evident reason do not approach passenger jet steps - probably to avoid expenses - parks away using the good old bus as a century ago, rain, heat... See more

Truly terrible
Booked a return journey from Riyadh to Amsterdam via Athens, travelling as a Mum with a 2 year old toddler. It was my first time flying with Aegean and it will also be my last.
The seats are unbelievably cramped and uncomfortable. Little care is given for small children. The kids are served their meal first, but the cabin crew refuse to take the child's food tray away when they finished eating. The tray can only be taken after the adult meal is served and finished. Because of this, I had to refuse all my meals since I had to keep my child's empty tray on my table to stop her playing with it. The cabin crew literally don't care and make no effort to help. I'm not sure why taking a small tray to put in the trash is IMPOSSIBLE. But there we go.
Having brought my child carrier back pack on the first two flights with no questions asked, I was told it's not allowed on the return flight from Amsterdam to Athens. I then agreed to put my backpack in the hold until the final destination, if I could have my stroller for the transfer. When I got off the first flight, they gave me back both items which was pointless and annoying to carrying around the huge backpack and have stroller.
Also the food I tried from my kids meals was truly terrible.
Boarding process stressful and exhausting
Frankfurt-Athens-Frankfurt
Very annoying carry-on policy for Economy class: felt like a Ryanair flight, with all those rules around mandatory check in of carry on (about which you are informed at the gate, not in advance by email).
Boarding process in Athens was a disaster. People were moving very slowly, it took ages for everyone to get seated (maybe it's because of the carry on restrictions, they had to rearrange stuff last minute?) - it was impossible to depart on time.
The flight from Athens to Frankfurt was overbooked. They offered a compensation for changing flights. I was too exhausted from my journey to the Athens airport, having woken up at 4 am to make that flight, so I said no thanks.
Overall, both flights were a very exhausting experience. Free snacks and drinks made up for it a bit, also the free Wifi was quite good and a usb charger was available.
I was robbed and No Accountability!
I was robbed, and Aegean Airlines offered no meaningful help.
I recently flew with Aegean Airlines from Mykonos to Bologna (via Athens), and what should have been a smooth European journey turned into one of the most upsetting travel experiences of my life.
After checking my luggage in Mykonos and arriving in Bologna, I discovered that my diamond stud earrings—valued at $15,000 and a family heirloom—were missing from my suitcase. They were packed securely in a zippered compartment of my luggage, which showed no signs of damage. I didn’t discover the loss until I arrived at my hotel, well away from the airport, making it impossible to file a report on-site as Aegean requires.
Despite immediately contacting Aegean’s customer service and providing detailed documentation—including flight and baggage tag numbers—their response was cold and procedural. I was told they assume no liability for jewelry, and that because I hadn’t filed a report at the airport before leaving, they wouldn’t even log the incident or open a file.
As a Platinum Executive flyer with American Airlines and a loyal international traveler for over 45 years, I’ve never had anything go missing from my checked baggage. This was not just a violation of my belongings, it was a violation of trust. The lack of basic support, follow-up, or even acknowledgment of how distressing this experience was is what hurts most.
I’m not writing this review because I expect compensation. I’m writing it because passengers deserve better protection, transparency, and accountability—especially when valuables are stolen while in the custody of an airline. A simple internal investigation or system flag could have gone a long way, but instead, I was met with indifference.
Travelers, take this as a warning: if something goes missing from your bag, Aegean will likely wash their hands of it—regardless of how carefully you packed or how loyal a customer you are.
Sincerely disappointed,
Jeanie Porter
SHITTY SERVICE ON A HIGH PRICE TAG
Aegean never fails to surprise me negatively.
-Broke my luggage and texted them a couple of hours where they claimed they cannot do anything ,as I don’t have a photo from the airport with my broken luggage. On the other side I had a photo of my brand new suitcase just before the flight and proof that took a taxi from the airport to final destination, so I couldn’t have broken the suitcase even if I tried.
-Denied to change my ticket booked through Aegean pass that allows ticket changes up to two hours before the flight because of an upgrade of a different flight under the same reservation 1 month before. That was never communicated to me and is not part of Aegean pass terms and conditions.
-Food for business class was shitty- was not worth it at all. On the other hand when flying economy and domestic they didn’t even offer a snack neither water.
-Useless and rude customer support : a bunch of idiots claiming all the time that their customers are wrong requesting their legal rights and quality of service they paid for.
-Constant delays : had more than 14 flights with Aegean and 80% of them were delayed.
-As we speak, I am in a two hours delay for domestic flight, that seems to be in delay since the beginning of the day going back and forth from Athens to Santorini. But still instead of Aegean officially and proactively communicating with passengers we have zero clue what’s happening.
If I can sum it up: SHITTY SERVICE ON HIGH PRICE TAG. You should be ashamed Aegean.Go fly with low cost : at least you know what you paying for.
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS AIRLINE.
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS AIRLINE.
They charged me and didn’t book the flight, they too money from me and I don’t have my flight, and already booked place to stay in my destination.
Worst business class crew ever
Worst business class crew ever! Flew from Santorini to Athens for a stop over. The crew gave us some small bag and that was it . When I asked when they would serve drinks the lady said to me : What do you want ! I asked het politely when they serve drinks and then she shouted that her colleague did that already! He forgot or was too lazy or maybe both. Anyway it was not possible anymore because they had to prepare for the landing. This crew must shame themselves and for us it will be the last time with this miserable airline.
I fly within the EU with my ID all the…
I fly within the EU with my ID all the time, but not with Aegean! Passport required. Maybe that seems self explanatory to you, but I fly multiple times a year between NL and SE with only my ID.
Smooth Flight and friendly service
I had a really good experience with Aegean Airlines. The staff were welcoming and the whole trip felt easy. The seats weren't the biggest, but overall the flight was comfortable and pleasant.
Amazing customer service
Flew from Santorini to Athens on A3367 on the 24th of September 2025. Absolutely impressed with the quality of this airline! From the check-in agent to the gate staff to the cabin crew they all deserve to be congratulated! Very professional, helpful and friendly! Thank you Aegean Airlines. Highly recommended!!

Booked a flight with incorrect first name. Their policy: no name change allowed.
Was suggested to cancel the ticket, no refund is being issued in case of cancelation. I am not sure what is the point of cancelling, because now they can sell the seat to other passenger and make double the profit. Terrible experience. Avoid
Not great airline
Food was poor. Staff seemed not interested in passengers. Seats very cramped. No leg room
Bad Service
This is a very very Bad Service!!!!Case broken and no help from customer Service !!!!! Never fly again with this bad Airline!!!!!
Customer service or support service is weak …
Customer service or support service is giving confusing information , I called four times and always different demands and answers from the person on the phone . My wife got diagnosed with cancer a month before we fly , I wanted to know my best option either to cancel , to rebook ,or to get a voucher , they asked for hospital and doctor certificate and than asked again for dates of treatments and than again for stamps from the hospital.Painful process , little results ... I take Aegean twice a year , I cannot complain about their service on the plan, this is why I gave them 2 , but once on the ground if there is any issue ,it's difficult to resolve it
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. Their london gate staff at terminal 2 are rude and disrespectful. Don’t bother using them to fly to Athens. You will be better off using another airline altogether and avoid to have to deal with low paid and uneducated staff.
Unfair and Unprofessional, VERY BAD experience
I had a very disappointing experience with Aegean Airlines. My flight A3 377 on 29 July 2025 was delayed by over three hours. Under EU law (EC261/2004), I am clearly entitled to €500 compensation.
My travel companion on the same flight received the full amount, while I only received €250.
I was told misleading explanations about “technical problems” and “ATC restrictions,” even though there was another flight that evening with more than 50 empty seats which I was not rebooked on.
Customer service is extremely poor: replies take 10 days or more, and one of their agents (Semetri) did not respond at all for over 10 days.
This is discriminatory, against EU law, and simply unacceptable. I will escalate this to the HCAA and ECC-Net, and I will also share my experience across consumer complaint platforms and social media so other passengers are aware.
Agean robbing customers
They put my husbands name on both our boarding passes to come home even though we flew out with Agean they wouldn’t change his name and put mine on instead they had to cancel the duplicate ticket refund expected in 30 days and charged 3 times as much for the same ticket and the same seat absolutely ripping us off outrageous
Extremely rude staff
Extremely rude staff! We had a return flight from Athens to Santorini, and the staff was so unnecessarily mean. Speaking based on 3-4 instances!!!
Comfort Flex up charge not worth it
Flight from Paris CDG to Athens in Comfort Flex. Was not allowed to keep my carry on with me although it fit in the sizing box except for the wheels. What’s the point of paying for the Comfort Flex up charge since the seats themselves are not even bigger than in regular economy?
Poor Customer Service
There employee told me to take a flight from Mykonos to Athens. There was no way for me to get there on time as the ferries weren’t running. When I tried to cancel they wouldn’t refund me. Scam. No one has customer service anymore. Sad.
Careful if you're wearing a pacemaker
Careful if you're wearing a pacemaker. They take away your handluggage with your medication and make you check it in even if you show your pass. No communication possible with the staff whatsoever. Never experienced this before.
