Worse company ever!!

Worse company ever!!! On November, I filed a claim with AIG for the replacement of my stolen phone. The claim was duly processed, and I was informed that the replacement device would be dispatched for delivery through UPS. However, despite the confirmation of dispatch, the phone never reached me.I tried to call them many times but the poor costumer service from Philippines made my life a nightmare. No one was able to help me and got really frustrated. I will take legal action as I have been paying the insurance for 2 years!!

Horrible experience with Apple Care+…

Horrible experience with Apple Care+ Theft and Loss claim - was a victim of a pickpocket in London, reported the incident to the police, reported my phone stole to Apple Support and my carrier. FIND MY was still ACTIVE when I made the report but after a day the thief was able to bypass it. AIG denied my claim for theft and loss and Apple refused to help me win my case. I have been a loyal apple customer for decades and now I lost trust in Apple.

Pre existing?

We are on a year long trip so took out the long stay backpackers insurance but top cover on offer. We were both completely fit and healthy on leaving England on a motorbike. 2.5 months in and in Thailand my partner developed chronic back pain and extreme diarrhoea leaving him unable to walk or leave the room. The local clinic checked him over and said he needed to go into hospital. We sent all relevant paperwork so as to get guarantee of payment which didn’t come as there was an issue apparently because my partner had an issue with his back many years ago which resolved and not been of any issue since it could be classed as pre existing - I am now extremely concerned as have had to pay our hospital
Bill with money we don’t have to be able to leave. I now wonder what does come under a pre existing condition - I feel at 60 if we had to mention things like a broken thumb of damaged knee, tooth infection as is anything you have ever had classed as pre existing. We are now waiting for our decision on if this will be paid, AIG have been very communicative throughout the ordeal but of course can’t co firm we will get this money which has added to the stress of a hospital visit on our trip. It’s not like thought we would come to Thailand and go to hospital as we get free treatment at home in England and wasn’t how we invisaged our trip to be.
Please anyone double check what you need to disclose and how far back this needs to go. Am hoping for a good resolution to this issue and the representatives I have dealt with are doing their best at AIG.k

To update you, the date is now 29th Nov and I have just heard from the hospital that AIG have settled payment minus the excess which is a massive relief for us so thanks so much AIG!

Very poor process for loss and theft policy for iPhone…

I have a loss and theft policy for my iPhone with IAG. I bought the insurance at the Apple store when I purchased the phone.
My phone was stolen while we were in France.
First of all, I couldn't get the phone there, and I had to wait until I returned to the UK.
Then, neither I nor my husband could not pay the assessment fee online until we were back in London and called the AIG
-The info about the status of the claim wasn't provided timely. I have to call to understand what's happening.
-There was more info required to provide, which took longer. It seems the company staff did not even bother to look for purchase documentation and ask the client to do all the work
-finally, the phone was delivered without notice. Luckily, there, my husband was at home. Otherwise, I would have missed the delivery as I was not expecting it
It was incredibly unprofessional service and all stages of the process.

Beyond disappointed with this company

I just have to say that I’m deeply disappointed with the service from this insurance company. My car was stolen 24 days ago and I am still waiting for an accessor to ring me with a market value price and a notification on how much I can expect from this insurance company for my stolen car. Three times today we rang and asked and pleaded for the assessor to contact us with how much I will receive from my insurance. I have been ringing and asking since Wednesday and nobody has called me back. I feel so let down. Besides the trauma of having my car stolen, I have had to rent a car to get to work as I only received €200 towards a rental car for a full month . I have two disabled children who are also autistic, and I now have no car for next week because I can’t afford to rent a car out of my own pocket anymore!
I was hoping to source a car to buy over this weekend so I could have a car accessible to me as quickly as possible. It will be day 27 on Monday when I may receive a call from an accessor now. This is absolutely horrendous and despicable as I am completely stranded.
I can only plead with you to sort this situation out as soon as possible.

Bad service at all..

I have secured a phone with you for applecare. when I got the insurance no one asked me for any information but you took the money after a minute.
9 months have passed, someone in the bike stole my phone on Saturday morning, I made the claim and there too you asked me for a little info but you took £109.00 to send me the new iPhone in 2 working days.
on Monday you contacted me to ask me for information, which I could easily have not had, but which I recovered to make everything easier and after hours you asked for other absurd ones. today is Tuesday yesterday I spent more than an hour on the phone without getting an answer and with the promise of a phone call never received and with a possible reply to the email never received.
you are thieves.

Horrible customer Service

Horrible customer Service! Don't trust what you're told. I had spoken with a rep about cancelling a transaction before it posted. She assured me repeatedly that the transaction was cancelled, and then preceded to take payment for another transaction. Conequently, I had bank charges because I was not prepared for the first transaction(the canceled one). The subsequent customer service reps have been helpful, but i still dont trust that their error will remedied in a timely manner. A supervisor promised expedited refund - but didn't give me her contact info. BEWARE

Why get cover, they seem to find a way out of paying

Had a 7-night break in August which was caught up in the air traffic control outage, which caused our flight out to be delayed by 26 hours. This meant that we lost a whole day of our holiday.

I first contacted Jet2Holidays for compensation and they said it was not their fault and will not compensate. They advised us to claim on our insurance, and AIG (Virgin Money Travel Insurance) are saying it's outside of their policy.

So we are out of pocket for a problem that was also not my fault and that we had no way of avoiding and no way of being covered for. At 44 years of age, this is the first time I have ever claimed on my holiday insurance, and this experience now makes me wonder what the point of it is.

life insurance 12 years ago…

We took of life insurance 12 years ago with this company. We included critical illness cover in the policy. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in april this year. I contacted them to see if this was covered,..... And im still waiting in sept...... After numerous emails/calls and promises of escalation have led to nothing except adding further stress/anxiety to a situation that already has too much of both. I'd give them a zero if i could they have been frankly rubbish!!!! No help whatsoever

NO INTEGRITY - CAVEAT EMPTOR

Disappointing to learn that AIG are just like all the other insurance companies that are so willing and pleasant when it comes to taking your money and then the moment you make a claim the wordsmiths come out and smuggly spout the small print and advise you after the event of the exclusions in your policy. I have written to the claims dept, demanding my case is escalated and have been completely ignored, nearly 3 weeks and still no response from the complaints handling team. Who would have thought a premium travel insurance company would not cover you for flight delays or cancellations.

Have you picked the right insurance company read on…

All one needs is a pack of incompetents or could it just be illiteracy to be at the end of a helpline? Calling for roadside help leaves you waiting and when the driver does call, it is past the time of a workshop being opened. What would be the purpose of taking a breakdown to a closed garage beats me? I'm then promised that he would come in to have the vehicle moved to be at the workshop at 4p.m. when the garage re-opens which never happens. Better still you could end up sharing your location with 2 to 3 strange callers who have no clue of the previous call. Given a common address seems very confusing so much so that they may even ask you to send the location map of the Burj Khalifa. They are indeed a standing joke. I have never encountered such shoddy service before. My advice go back to your previous insurance companies and avoid the stress of having to deal with those that are clueless.

AIG insurnace waste of money

Had an issue where airline issued boarding pass under a similar name, same destination but different flight (made no notice of it other than what seat as everyone else) Was alerted at gate when boarding. They scrambled to changed boarding, destroyed the original one to get me on flight. Trouble is my hand luggage was checked in as well due to overcrowded flight (n i did not agreed to this as had my laptop and electronics but they insisted) I was assured that bag will be waiting for me at landing (did I mentioned flight was 2 hour delayed as well) Long story short AIG does not cover laptop unless in the purse with you on the craft. That is the only fact AIG acknowledged, not even that it was not my fault or to chase it up with airline

1 star because there is no zero star option available

1 star because there is no zero star option here. My phone was stolen and firstly the coverage was not showing up on my page for the claim, so I had to wait a day and call them back; secondly their website is never up to date with what is actually going on, making you call them everyday for updates. Third, they don't ask for all the documents right away, delaying the whole process, and finally, if everything is fine, you will have a new phone after 2-3 weeks. How can an insurance company take so long to give you a new phone these days? AIG is an insurance that you buy on Apple's website, I took it from there because I wanted to make sure that everything would go well if I needed them... unfortunately it's impossible to live without a phone, cards, work apps, emails, contacts, messages etc, insurers like AIG need to adapt and speed up the process!

Where is the zero

Where is the zero? AIG has refused to pay my medical bills for a 4 day hospitalization with Dengue fever. I paid the bill with a credit card upon being dismissed from the hospital. I submitted All medical records and bills to AIG. They refused to pay. AIG wanted me to sign an all purpose medical records release for my entire life's medically history. More ways to refuse your claim. What does my medical history have anything to do with a mosquito bite in South east Asia? Was my hospitalization valid? Was I under the care of 3 different American trained medical doctors? Were my bills valid from the hospital ? When you try to reply to their correspondence , it won’t let you type a response and hit send. That’s too easy with the page that already has your information on it. The policy number- the claim number- your name- your address- etc etc. You are made to rewrite all this information on a new fresh page. Very time consuming. Another road block AIG throws in your way is to find fault with your bills or your treatment. They would state they require clarification on a bill. Clarification? What is it exactly they are requesting clarification on? Please tell me what it is you want ? More correspondence required that consumes time and frustrates you. It’s an obvious delaying and denying tactic. it’s been 6 months now and no $1400 dollar payment for my hospital stay. No one from AIG has ever tried to ever call me to help move along the claim. Try calling one of their numbers. Not the sales number. They will have a live polite person promptly answer the sales line. It’s just another scam by a company in the new America.

If I could give 0 I would

If I could give 0 I would. I bought "Travel Guard" travel insurance thru Travelocity which covers $500 for flight delays but when it is time to file a claim, I needed a letter from the airline explaining the delay (!!!), needed to upload all "reasonable" out of pocket expenses (based on whose interpretations?) & had to upload personal passport & credit card statements (opening possibility for ID theft). Lesson: DON'T BUY anything from these people - they'll just wear you out w/delays & demands for more documents...I now plan to reverse the charges thru my credit card company.
