extra charge

I attempted to include checked baggage in my booking well in advance of my flight.

Despite multiple contacts with your team by phone, I was unable to pay for the baggage due to a persistent system error. Your representatives acknowledged the issue but were unable to provide a solution before my departure.

Due to the unresolved issue, I was forced to pay for the checked baggage at the airport desk. The total amount I paid was 769.54 BRL, which included additional fees that could have been avoided had your system functioned correctly or had the issue been resolved promptly.

This experience was both frustrating and unfair. I made every effort to address the situation in advance (weeks before), yet I was penalized for a fault in your system.

The call centre said that my call was recording and I could request a refund for the extra charge after my flight but I opened a claim which got no real update for over a month. Disappointed!!!

Scam Territory

Air France knocked me off business class to premium economy and gave no reason whatsoever and never compensated me. I spoke to someone on the 'help' line and she said she doesn't know why it happened and said she can't help me. This is scam territory. A 3000 Euro flight this was and this is how they treat you. Absolutely despicable.

Diabolical airline

Diabolical airline, after an initial 2h 45m delay boarded the filthy aircraft and there was a technical issue pilot said it was unsafe to fly. Kept onboard for 3hrs with no air conditioning, food or water then cancelled the flight, no help offered by staff, now air France have denied my EU261/2004 compensation claim despite paying to colleagues on the same flight. I had to fly home with BA, lost my nights hotel stay in Paris and was out of pocket for additional meals, telephone calls to air France. Disgusting way to treat customers.

Overall pleasant experience

Very friendly staff, shame there was no information on the flight delay. The flight was predicted on time despite we were past the time of the flight and the boarded had not started. The return flight was on time. We paid slightly more to have hold luggage. Infant ticket includes pram and baby seat without weight limit (some airlines have a combined weight limit of 10 kg).

Apalling customer service after lost luggage

Our flight from London was delayed, we had to run with our toddler on my arm to make the connecting flight to London, but our luggage did not make it Lima, it was stuck in Paris.
Upon arrival in Lima the luggage handling person said, the luggage has been found in Paris and we get it after the next flight arrives.
24 hours after our arrival I received an email that we would get our luggage within 24 hours. Since we have not been contacted by Air France after 12 hours I called Air France when we would get it, they don't guarantee anything. Then they hung up on me. When I called again 1 minute later they said the system was down, which was not credible. It sounded like they lied.
This is absolutely appalling behaviour.

Lost luggage and the worst ever…

Lost luggage and the worst ever experience trying to find it or claim it. The lost my luggage 3rd October and 2 months on still nothing and no compensation.

The whole process is terrible with a claim update portal that is nothing but a blank screen with no update, you call the call centre and they cannot speak to you nor do they have managers you can speak to. I have spent around 20 hours just trying to make a claim. I will be reporting them to IATA, shocking!

Not a nice journey

First time flying with Air France and they got me to Bangkok 8 hours late and delayed my luggage - which I received 4 days later. When asking for compensation later on they gave me all these different loopholes and wouldn’t refund me for the delayed luggage. I provided clear receipts and bank statements as well as the EMD numbers and flight tickets in which they claimed the receipts weren’t readable. The receipts were all very clear and readable. They charged £53 for checked baggage in the way there and £95 for it on the way back (my suitcase was only 17kg). Paid £18 for wifi that I couldn’t use and £35 for a specific seat but then never got that specific seat - and they are refusing to give a refund despite clear receipts and EMD numbers.

Considering how terrible the service is id say they are way overpriced. You would get better service from a budget airline.

You’ll be ok using them for a short haul journey but wouldn’t recommend for a long haul journey or anything involving connecting flights. Also it’s cheaper and more reliable to literally ship your luggage over than pay their checked baggage fee.

Soaked luggage

My luggage was transferred from AF flight to another AF flight at CDG. When I collected it at my final destination it was completely soaked wet :( The luggage guys could not be bothered to put a cover over a luggage buggy.

Best airlines out there

In my opinion, Air France is the best airline. I've flown with them four times, each time on long-haul flights across the Atlantic, and it has always been a fantastic experience. The entertainment options are great, and the flight crew is both professional and friendly. While the food isn't exceptional, I don't expect Michelin-star quality on an airplane, especially in economy class. They have consistently been on time, often arriving ahead of schedule. I understand that others may have had different experiences or expectations, but after some terrible experiences with other airlines that made me consider avoiding flying altogether, Air France will be my sole choice, regardless of the price. 10/10 from me 🇫🇷❤️

Late and rude

Used them twice. Late on both occasions causing me to miss the connection.

Flight Attendant also rude. Nearly made the lady next to me cry.

Disability discrimination

Made a complaint with a request for a refund due to the lack of disabled friendly seating after many many phone calls for disabled seating and request for assistance which had been cancelled, rebooked and cancelled by the airline.

Their answer was a voucher for us to use on a future flight which we can't use due to them being anti disability.

When we refused the voucher they told us we were unreasonable and won't help any further.

TERRIBLE AIRLINE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.

TERRIBLE AIRLINE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
After a long illness, I was looking firward to my holiday, it was a total nightmare, start to finish and ongoing now.
Firstly there was a delayed flight , I paid £386 for upgrade (a total treat) which they refused to refund - despite missing my ongoing flight because of airline delay, I didn't get to use the upgrade, after my flight was cancelled by the airline, customer services in France said my upgrade was refunded it was not. Applied online, as per their terms and conditions - I am due a refund they refused it. Missed a days holiday, had to stay overnight in Paris without any luggage, then had fly from Paris to Madrid the following day, onwards to Havana. Lost my baggage for 6 days. They accepted no responsibility for flight delay, loss of holiday time, no luggage and basically causing me alot of stress of what should have been a holiday of a lifetime. I was on holiday, stressed with no personal items or clothes, missing days because I had no clothes, toiletries suncream etc and out if pocket nearly £400. Now returning from holiday to more stress trying to get refunded and compensated for no luggage . WHAT A UNPROFESSIONAL, UNSAVOURY COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. DO NOT FLY WITH AIRFRANCE, THEY ARE A JOKE TO DEAL WITH

Rubbish airline don't use them

Rubbish airline don't use them. They gave my partners seat to someone else without telling him. When he arrived at the airport and was booking in they told him that this didn't have a seat on he's return flight. The airline sent an email after we complained, tell him that they nominated him to give up his seat. That was that without asking him...

Unfair company

I purchased three plane tickets for my family and me from Air France 8 weeks ago for a trip in July, costing £2,300. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness a few weeks ago and can no longer travel this year due to my challenging treatment. I have to travel to the hospital every day for 1 hour away from my house and my family is my only support.
I contacted Air France to request a refund or at least a voucher for future travel. However, they decided to return only £224 to my bank account without any agreement from both parties. They did not offer any vouchers or full refunds. Now the company can sell my tickets at a more expensive price and has kept my savings.
I am deeply disappointed with their lack of understanding and support during such a difficult time.

Worst Customer service in the world.

I give 1 star just because the flight reached on time. They have damaged my luggage for the 2nd time this year and when I applied for compensation, they say you cannot get it as it is not done by Air France. They damaged my clothes, gifts including expensive stuff. The worst customer service in the world.

Exploited

I purchased tickets for flights next year as soon as they became available. The following day, the total advertised price had reduced from £1900 to £900. I feel that I was exploited into paying a higher price than other customers by booking early, & my experience of discussing this with Air France customer services was also poor. If this review puts a few people off booking with Air France then it will serve them right. Otherwise, if you are looking at tickets & the price seems unduly high, I would suggest waiting a few days & it will probably reduce.

2.7 rating is astonishing, it should be a max of 0 at best!
Disgusting company!
