Received three messages informing me that I had been charged £1.50 per message from Alerts4u. Was tricked into giving my details when signing up for Vinted. Have replied STOP but need to claim back payment for the messages. An outright scam.
Fraudulently joined me up
Just now trying to join Vinted app and got immediately 2 texts and then text STOP.
On Tesco mobile and hoping they will refund me.
Don’t understand how they joined me up ??☹️
Suspicious text message
Suspicious message
I just received a text message from this company claiming I am a member and that they are going to charge me £1.50 per message up to a maximum of £4.50 per week. I have definitely not signed up to any such thing or been on any site or app that would lead me to inadvertently sign up to a premium alert service that I've never heard of or even need. I have blocked them from my phone but not sure if this will work. I have found out they are owned by SB7 Mobile Ltd and their company registration number is 06117314 I have now reported them to Action Fraud.
Out and out scammers
Out and out scammers
I was actually filling in a form about something else when these popped up, didn't realise that i was on a different page, very deceitful. Within seconds I got 3 messages each at a cost of £1.50
Fraudsters, please beware
Absolutely disgusting scammers, only after checking my bill did I realize that these guys had been charging me without my knowledge for 'premium texts'! Called O2 who blocked them and said will refund last 2 months charges. Appalling thing is O2 said they cant do anything to block these scammers for all users, only if a user calls them they can block on a case by case basis!
Not sure how we can take action against this company so that they cant steal from other people?
Underhand, deceitful, misleading
This is a dreadful company who operate in an underhand, deceitful and misleading way.
My experience is typical of many others reported here on Trustpilot. I unwittingly managed to sign up for this service while doing something else. I am not stupid and so can only assume this happened because it is done in an underhand way. This is a service that I would never have signed up for knowingly, being charged £1.50 for every text they send about offers and deals etc for which I have no interest whatsoever. I only became aware of these after a number of these spurious texts/alerts had already been sent to my phone and charged for.
My mobile provider, Tesco Mobile, were of no help in terms of compensating me for the charges already applied but they helped me stop any future charges etc. They have told me that, because some of these alert messages have already come through from this particular company, the only way of stopping them is by sending them a STOP message by SMS, at the cost of another £1.50. That just rubs salt into the wound!
It is appalling that this kind of situation can happen. Our government and regulators are so behind in terms of keeping us safe. The mobile phone industry also has some responsibility for keeping their customers safe from such operators ...... but they don't seem to accept that, as far as my own experience with Tesco Mobile seems to indicate.
I started getting text messages from Alerts4U.co.uk
I started getting text messages from Alerts4U out of the blue, followed by a text message telling me these were costing me £1.50 a text, with a maximum £5 per week. ANNOYED, absolutely!
I did not reply to these texts, using the STOP button, having read other people's experience on this site, (being charged £5 to unsubscribe) THANKYOU!, but clicked on the link to phone them. Surprise, surprise, the phone went dead.
So, I contacted my phone company, who have put a block on the company and their texts. I then followed up with a call to my bank, to ensure no money could be taken out. I had not given out my bank details to Alerts4U. At this point it becomes my credit card company's responsibility! That's why we use them, right?
I have written this review to help other poor victims of this type of scam, as I consider it to be, to trick people into signing up for something they DO NOT WANT! Hope it is useful! I now intend contacting ACTION FRAUD about them.
The painful thing is I have lost 2 1/2 hours of my Saturday morning so far because of this company and have yet to contact everyone I know to warn them.
How did I subscribe? I can only think I have been on a site I use regularly and distracted (not read the small print) ticked a box which says, 'Tick here if you wish to be 'alerted' about any future sales etc' These messages are everywhere. Lesson learnt!!!
The sad thing is this company are making a fortune, often from vulnerable people who potentially 1.Not internet savvy or 2. Can't afford to waste £5 to unsubscribe to a site they did not subscribe to officially in the first place. This is criminal, immoral and NOT ACCEPTABLE in any shape or form. I hope you are listening Alerts4U. I only wish there was a zero on the review section of the site. You are not worth the one star!
My grandkids ware going to Costa and…
My grandkids ware going to Costa and asked to borrow my mobile phone!! What a mistake!! While in Costa they picked up a leaflet for Alerts4u. it wasn't until they got home and gave my phone back i realized i had been sent a number of texts. unwittingly they had subscribed to Alerts4u!!!! Who it seems had sent texts to my phone immediately! It now seems i've spent £4.50 which i didn't need or want to! Suely there should be a cooling off period before this company can charge you! I immediately Unsubscribed from Alerts4u and hope this is an end to this problem and not going to be charged again in the future! And in the meantime given the Grandkids a good talking to ......... So people be very careful who you lend your phone to !!!!
SCAMMED !!!!
Received wedding invite and scanned in QR code to reply. Completed next screen which involved entering my mobile phone number believing this was part of the process. Message came up thanking me for joining Alerts4u and immediately received a text message informing me that I had joined Alerts4u and been charged £1.50p for the message.
Then within a minute another text message from them telling me to check out Booking.com for the latest offers, another £1.50p. (I had booked a holiday the week before through Booking.com, and certainly did not need this useless text).
Cost me another £1.50p to text 'STOP' to unsubscribe.
SCAMMERS, TOTALLY DISHONEST, and very frustrating as they are obviously getting away with this untouched.
As with others booking train through…
As with others booking train through Trainline and took link to their app and these scammers have somehow managed to sign me up to their alert service and charged for texts. Sent stop to their number but they have scammed £5. No idea how they managed this.
I hadn't signed up to any deals
I hadn't signed up to any deals, although I had tried to install the trainline app on my phone and this seemed to dome at the same time. I'll cancel that as well. I've just clicked the web link and unsubscribed on there. It says unsubscribe sent, so lets' see.

Trying to cancel it, but i incures fees when you text stop to their number. Tried calling customer services to get a refund and automated voice call no answer from and actual human being. Absolutely disgusting company.
