Totally Abismal, Rubbish Online Chat Service

With car insurance due, I used comparison sites to find the most competitive with the features I want. I chose Allianz Car Gold standard being very competitively priced. Went online, authorized payment but got nothing is response but a pending payment on my credit card. Thought give it time so in the afternoon, still nothing, went through payment process again, another pending payment, but still nothing. Tried to converse with their useless brick wall they call online chat. Went round in circles for 45 mines including 2 time out due to lack of action with a promise that they would resolve and to keep an eye on my emails.
Two days later nothing but an email with my quote. Back to their brick wall, played roundabouts for a time including 2-time outs and 2 re-logins. Got nowhere. So this time I used the link in the email to buy again this time with a debit card. Again nothing.
Now I have £1,160.91 pending in favour of Allianz. Yes very competitively priced if you can buy. They call it a chatline, I call it a roundabout that gets you nowhere. If you end up on their chat line, take a stiff drink and be prepared to get nowhere after an hour of your life lost. Thinking of visiting their local office that is only 25mins away.

New car garage debacle.

Bought a new car and carried out the change and the fact that my cherished number would be transferred to the new car, no bother at all went like clockwork. Unfortunately the garage messed up the transfer so car came with its original number plates. DVLA then put a block on the transfer from my old car to the new one, nightmare as instead of being able to do it on line almost instantly the transfer has to be done by post! So will take longer by weeks. Went into the Allianz site and my account and changed the reg again with no problems whatsoever. Then when everything is sorted with the DVLA can go back in and change the reg again . Was so easy even I , a novice with computers , managed it all easily. Nice one Allianz.

When it comes to contacting allianz about your car insurance there is only online chat and there is no customer support at all!

Auto renewed despite policy cancellation

Allianz told me they were unable to renew my policy following an address change. I duly found insurance elsewhere yet they then auto renewed my policy anyway, putting me into debt. The refund process takes 3-5 business days so, as this is a Friday, I’m going to be without funds for a full week. The only response from the online chat support is ‘We apologise for the inconvenience’.

Infuriating self-serve policy management

Encourages self-serve online, but the options once logged-in are very limited and you cannot possibly manage the policy fully. It's then difficult to find contact details, and the promoted "live chat" is absolutely woeful. Scripted chatbot which only understand about 5 prompts, like something from the 90s. Clearly can't be bothered investing in a licence for a proper LLM or AI agent.
