Hi Ashley,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it is to have your vehicle in the shop for an extended period of time.

After reviewing the claim, it was originally opened on January 5. There were delays early in the process while the repair facility gathered and submitted the required documentation needed for the claim to move forward. With assistance from our team, the necessary information was received on January 29 so the review process could continue. An updated estimate and inspection were then completed, followed by a technical review, and the claim received final approval on February 17.

Once approved, the required part was ordered on February 19. At this time, the repair is pending shipment and tracking information from the vendor so the dealership can proceed with the repair. While we always aim to move claims forward as quickly as possible, the overall timeline can sometimes depend on multiple parties, including the repair facility and parts suppliers.

We understand how frustrating delays can be. If you would like to discuss the status of your claim further, please feel free to contact our team at 800-662-5519.

Do not purchase the Alpha Car Warranty

Do not purchase the Alpha Car Warranty, they are a Shyster Warranty company that will not pay when you need it. They will give you one excuse after another as to why they are not willing to honor the Warranty. Dealing with them is a total Nightmare and a waste of your good money for the purchase.

Joshua,

We’re sorry to hear that you feel this way and appreciate you sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be to face a major vehicle issue.

Your claim was opened on December 4, 2025 for a no-start condition that the repair facility believed may be related to internal engine components. Because the contract had accumulated nearly 20,000 miles since purchase and the concern involved potential internal engine failure, the claims process required maintenance records so the administrator could verify the vehicle had been properly serviced in accordance with the contract terms.

During the review, the records that were submitted contained several inconsistencies in formatting, invoice numbering, and layout that prevented them from being verified as authentic repair facility invoices. The claims team made multiple attempts to obtain verifiable maintenance documentation, but unfortunately acceptable records were not able to be confirmed. As a result, the claim was closed in accordance with the contract requirements.

We understand this outcome is disappointing. If you are able to obtain verifiable maintenance records from the servicing facility, we would be happy to have the claim reviewed again. You’re also welcome to contact our team at 800-662-5519 to review the situation once more.

Don't trust the contract

I recently purchased a used Hyundai Elantra Touring with 124,000 miles and decided to add a 6-month/6,000-mile BudgetCare Gas Powertrain+ (Day One) warranty through Alpha Warranty with a $100 deductible. On paper, the coverage looked solid and gave me some peace of mind in case something unexpected came up.

About a month later, I noticed an engine vibration and took the car to one of their approved repair shops. The process initially seemed smooth. The shop diagnosed a failed engine mount that was covered under the contract (Section G1), along with a few unrelated items that weren’t covered. I was relieved and thought the warranty had already justified itself.

The shop submitted the claim, and a few days later it was approved. After parts arrived, I was notified that the car was ready for pickup. So far, so good.

However, Alpha Warranty only agreed to pay $61.29 toward the repair. The total bill included $74 in labor and $367.74 for the part. In other words, the warranty covered only a small fraction of the actual repair cost.

After several days of trying to reach them, I finally spoke with a representative to ask about the discrepancy. I was told that Alpha Warranty pays based on the “average MSRP of like kind and quality parts.” Since the original component was an OEM Hyundai part, I expected “like kind and quality” to mean OEM or at least a reputable aftermarket equivalent. Instead, I was told that because my vehicle had “excessive miles,” they determined that a budget replacement part was appropriate.

That distinction was not clearly explained at the time of purchase. While the warranty technically approved the claim, the payout was so minimal that it provided little real financial protection.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Alpha Warranty. The marketing materials and ratings made it seem like a worthwhile investment, but when I actually needed coverage, the reimbursement was disappointing and the process frustrating.

John,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that this repair did not meet your expectations.

Your repair facility submitted a claim that included several items in addition to the engine mount, such as suspension components and an oil pan reseal. Under the plan you selected, coverage is limited to the specific components listed in the contract. Because of this structure, those additional items were not eligible for reimbursement. The engine mount, however, is a covered component and that portion of the repair was approved.

Payment on claims is calculated according to the terms outlined in the agreement, including the deductible and the contract’s standard labor rate allowance. In this case, the engine mount part was approved at the amount submitted on the estimate, and labor was authorized based on the contract’s base labor rate and the time requested by the repair facility. After applying the $100 deductible in the contract, the remaining authorized payment totaled $61.29.

We understand it can be frustrating when a repair involves multiple issues and only certain components fall within the scope of the coverage. Our goal is always to apply the contract terms consistently while helping customers understand how their plan works before and during the claims process. If you would like to discuss the process of this determination further, please contact us at 800-662-5519.

Do Not Use!

Edit: If you're considering buying an Alpha warranty, and their reply to this review makes you think they value customer experience/satisfaction, then go for it.

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Alpha during the replacement of my truck’s transmission. To start, Alpha’s adjusters stalled the process for nearly a week. My mechanic was given the runaround, and my claim wasn’t approved until four business days after I dropped off the truck. Because of that delay, I’ve had to pay far more for a rental car than Alpha is willing to reimburse. I’m also being forced to pay over $1,000 out of pocket for this repair, even though my "deductible" is only $100. The additional costs are from exclusions buried in the fine print of the policy, costs that were never clearly explained upfront. On top of that, Alpha has only approved about two-thirds of the labor hours required for the repair. They are refusing to cover labor that isn’t technically the transmission swap itself, but is absolutely necessary to complete the transmission replacement correctly. My mechanic is using the same Alldata labor database they use, and I've known him for years. He isn't the problem. They also required my mechanic to take apart components and provide photos of metal shavings in the transmission pan—even though the truck was already throwing a diagnostic code for a failed seventh gear. And they're not paying that labor either. When I called Alpha to address the labor discrepancy, the customer service representative told me there was no one who could help me. All he could see was the claim information, and adjustors don't speak with customers. I ultimately had to call back pretending to be the mechanic just to speak with an adjuster, and even then, nothing was resolved. My mechanic suggests to use Route66 instead.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how stressful a major repair like a transmission replacement can be, and we appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns you raised.

After reviewing your contract and claim (CL10795513), we want to clarify the timeline and process. The claim was initiated on February 18, 2026, and our adjuster followed standard procedures to verify the failure, request inspections, and obtain part quotes. By the morning of February 20, the claim was fully prepared for approval and pending your decision on whether to proceed with our vendor-supplied part or the repair facility’s part. That decision was not communicated to us until February 23, which contributed to the overall delay.

Regarding labor hours and out-of-pocket costs, coverage determinations are based strictly on the terms of the service contract. Approved labor times are calculated using industry-standard guides such as Alldata, Mitchell, and ProDemand. These approved hours can differ from what a repair facility may request, particularly for diagnostic or ancillary labor that is not covered under the contract. When a repair facility’s charges exceed the contract’s allowances, those differences become the customer’s responsibility. Our customer service management team, including our training manager, communicated these details directly and in writing.

While adjusters typically work directly with repair facilities to streamline the technical aspects of a claim, our customer service team remains available to explain coverage decisions and next steps to contract holders.

We regret that this experience did not meet your expectations. Our goal at Alpha Warranty Services is to administer claims fairly, transparently, and in accordance with the contract terms. If you would like us to review any remaining questions about your coverage or discuss additional options, we encourage you to contact our team again at 800-662-5519.

Terrible Experience - Will Never Be Purchasing A Warranty Through Alpha Again

Absolutely terrible experience working with this company. The communication between Alpha and the repair facility has been so slow and drawn out. They won't provide a rental car until repairs have been started on the vehicle. It has been over 3 weeks now and the repair facility still hasn't been able to start repairs on my vehicle yet. They will mark anything they possibly can as "Ineligible." Alpha is only covering 14.2 hours of Labor when Ford is telling me the repairs will take 25 Hours. Why is there such a big discrepancy there???

Derek,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when a vehicle repair takes longer than expected, especially when you are relying on updates from multiple parties.

We would like to clarify a few important points regarding your claim. The claim was opened on January 28 for a transmission concern under a PriorityOne contract. Early in the process, the repair facility was advised that a transmission pan teardown was required to move the claim forward. There was a delay of approximately one week while waiting for the repair facility to complete this step. Once teardown was confirmed, an inspection was scheduled, but inspector availability in the area caused an additional delay. To prevent further wait time, a self-inspection was requested and completed, allowing the claim to be reviewed and authorized on February 13. Final authorization occurred after the repair facility confirmed its parts decision on February 18.

Regarding labor hours, coverage is determined by the terms of the service contract, which specifies the use of the ALLDATA® labor guide. ALLDATA lists 12.0 hours for transmission removal and replacement, along with approved diagnostic and teardown time, totaling 14.2 covered labor hours. While the repair facility requested additional labor, the contract does not allow us to exceed the published labor standards.

Rental coverage is available under the contract based on approved labor hours and is typically reimbursed. At this time, there were no rental charges submitted with the claim. If a rental was obtained, our customer service team can review reimbursement options and explain how rental benefits apply.

We understand that delays involving inspections, repair facilities, and parts decisions can feel overwhelming, and we regret the inconvenience caused by the overall timeline. Our goal is always to apply the contract terms consistently and move claims forward as efficiently as possible.

If you would like to discuss your claim further or have questions about rental reimbursement, our customer service team is available to assist you directly at 800-662-5519.

Jody,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration and understand that when repairs don’t go as expected, it can feel especially discouraging.

After carefully reviewing your service contract and the claim, the decision was made based on the coverage you selected at purchase. Your plan is the A+ contract, which provides coverage only for specific components listed in the agreement. Within the fuel system section, coverage applies to the fuel pump, fuel injection pump, and metal fuel delivery lines. Individual fuel injectors are not included under this plan, which is why the claim could not be approved.

We want to clarify that claim outcomes are not intended to avoid responsibility, but to apply the contract terms consistently and fairly for all customers. In this case, the coverage limitations of the selected plan were reviewed with both the repair facility and with you when you contacted our team.

We apologize for the frustration this situation has caused. If you would like to discuss the claim further or review your coverage in more detail, our customer support team is available at 800-662-5519.

Alpha Warranty Service is a complete joke …

Alpha Warranty Service is a complete joke. They rejected my son’s claim of the motor blowing up. They said that because the receipt didn’t give part numbers for the oil change that they wouldn’t cover the motor because the receipts for preventative maintenance wasn’t clear enough. So they rejected the claim. So now my 20 year old son has a $18000 dollar truck that he has worked hard for that he will have to pay another $10000 to get it running again. He done the maintenance as it was supposed to be done. But they refuse to fix the issue.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating it is to be without your vehicle, especially when an engine concern is involved, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Your claim was opened on January 14 and has required multiple technical steps that can take time, including a full teardown, third-party inspection, and additional diagnostic results from the repair facility. These steps are necessary to ensure the claim is reviewed accurately and fairly under the terms of the contract. Once the remaining diagnostic information is received, the claim will be submitted for final approval, which involves multiple parties.

While this process can feel lengthy, it is not an automatic approval or denial delay. It is part of the due diligence required for higher-dollar repairs like engine failures. We apologize for the frustration caused by the situation. Our team is actively monitoring the claim and working to move it forward as quickly as possible.

If you would like to discuss the status further or have questions about the next steps, we encourage you to contact our team directly at 800-662-5519.

We appreciate your patience and the opportunity to address your concerns.

Sincerely,

I am highly dissatisfied .....

I am highly dissatisfied with the extended warranty I purchased from the dealership. I recently bought a 2011 Dodge Ram without knowing of any existing issues. After driving for three hours, I decided to call Alpha Warranty for an update. They asked me to describe any problems, but since I was unaware of any issues, I took the vehicle to a repair shop for further examination. I hoped it wasn't anything serious, but after about a week or two, I discovered that the car had engine failure.

The repair shop contacted Alpha Warranty to file a claim, but to our shock, it was denied. They claimed it was a pre-existing issue. I was taken aback because I had just discovered the engine problem myself. We couldn't believe they insisted that we had prior knowledge of the issue. How could it be a pre-existing problem when I had just bought the car and driven it home without knowing of any defects? That's precisely why I took it to the repair shop—to find out what was really going on.

Later, I learned that I was facing a significant engine problem, which has now become a costly issue. Alpha Warranty denied our claim, asserting that we were aware of the problem. I was frustrated and confused about their definition of "pre-existing," as I had no idea what was wrong with the car initially.

I contacted Alpha Warranty for assistance, as instructed in my warranty agreement. They recommended specific service centers for evaluation. When I brought my car to one of these authorized locations, the technicians informed me that I needed to replace the engine.

When I reached out to Alpha for clarification, I asked for the specific lines in the warranty contract that they referenced in their denial. I also requested to speak to a supervisor to contest their decision. To my dismay, I was informed that there was no option to speak with anyone higher up, leaving me financially burdened and deeply frustrated.

I attempted to communicate with Alpha multiple times, but their service team refused to cooperate, especially since we had no idea what to expect regarding the car's issues. My overall experience with Alpha Warranty has been highly disappointing. The money I spent on the warranty feels wasted, and I received no real support.

Initially, Alpha Warranty was helpful, but once they learned of the engine failure, they quickly denied our claim. They changed their wording to suggest it was a pre-existing condition, even though I was unaware of any issues when I bought the car. They informed the repair shop that we had known about the problem all along, which was simply untrue. I was frustrated with three of their staff members, as their responses were unhelpful. One representative even told me, "Sorry, we can't help you." I requested that they document our conversation, assuring them I was aware that it was being recorded. When they claimed ignorance of the situation, I reiterated that I, too, was unaware and questioned how they could classify it as pre-existing when we didn't even know what was wrong with the car in the first place.
