As a provider of the repairs...

As a provider of the services (repairs), for the love of God people READ the contract. WHAT's covered, if its not covered DONT expect the warranty company to just pay for it. The Warranty Company is NOT a non-profit, they are NOT, just going to pay for anything. What is in the contract they pay for, if its not on the list forget about it.

Major ABS system failure

Have a major brake issue and they say it's not covered. I have bumper to bumper warranty and it doesn't cover major braking components such as anything to do with the ABS system so I have to pay for an almost 4000 dollar repair that we cannot afford... I had to fight and fight for them to cover a major drive train failure also
Will never use this warranty again after it expires

Rebecca,

We are sorry to hear about the brake issues you are experiencing and understand how stressful unexpected repair costs can be. After reviewing your claim, we confirmed that your vehicle is covered under an A+ Enhanced contract, which is not a bumper-to-bumper plan. The coverage is limited to specific listed components, and unfortunately, the ABS system is not included under the “What Is Covered” section of your contract.

We recognize that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, especially given the cost of repairs. If you would like, our customer service team would be happy to walk through your contract in detail and explain exactly what is and is not covered so there is no confusion moving forward. Please feel free to reach us at (800) 662-5519.

We were sold the top tier warranty…

We were sold the top tier warranty package it was sold on the premise that everything was covered. This is a direct comment from the actual contract.
"Includes the MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN of any VEHICLE parts, except for the exclusions listed under the “What is Not Covered” section".

This is not true. We've had two significant repairs, with no coverage at all!!

I strongly caution anyone considering Alpha Warranty to do your research, read the reviews, go to the BBB, hundreds of negative reviews. The coverage we were sold does not match what was promised. We were led to believe we had protection for major mechanical issues, but when our 2021 vehicle experience two separate major engine failures, Alpha denied first claim and is in the process of denying the second claim. These weren't small repairs -- they were significant and costly -- yet alpha found reasons not to pay, despite our contract suggesting we were covered. We purchased the warranty in good faith to avoid exactly this kind of financial hardship, and instead we were left paying out of pocket while Alpha avoided responsibility.
In my experience, this company does NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT IT SELLS. I regret purchasing this policy, and I DO NOT recommend Alpha Warranty to anyone looking for reliable coverage.

Here's the fine print... Covered parts when damage is caused by non-covered parts. Non- covered parts even when damage is caused by covered parts. So basically they can say anything that is damaged by a non-covered part (i.e. a screw or a bolt) to get to the covered part, is not covered, therefore the covered part is not covered.

Hi Amy,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how stressful it can be to face major repairs, and we know how important it is to have clarity on what your warranty covers.

Regarding your claims, the first claim was reviewed and denied based on exclusions outlined in your contract, specifically for issues related to worn or damaged valve parts. The second claim is still active. The repair facility is in the process of tearing down the engine to determine the specific point of failure, after which the claim will be fully evaluated according to the terms of your IntelliCare contract.

Our team is committed to reviewing every claim thoroughly and in line with the coverage outlined in the contract. We encourage you to stay in contact with your repair facility and our customer service department at (800) 662-5519 as we complete this evaluation as efficiently as possible.

Never used it in the 5 years of owning…

Never used it in the 5 years of owning my vehicle so wasted my money in the first place. When they tried to renew it after it expired they wanted $214 a month for 24 month which is more than just paid for the vehicle originally. The guy on the phone argued with me about not wanting to buy it and tried to justify the cost for almost 12 minutes and now they won't stop calling trying to get my wife to renew it behind my back.

Zero stars is what Alpha Warranty…

Zero stars is what Alpha Warranty deserves. I took my car to an approved shop (from their website) on Monday 7/14. Alpha required the shop to take my car apart and provide images and codes, which they did. On 7/16, I receive an email from Alpha saying my car needs to go back to the dealership I bought from because I live within 50 miles. I am ok with that. What I am not ok with is that I called Alpha's customer service to see if the repair would be covered and they did not mention that I had to take it to the original shop. I had to pay the shop $149+ for the diagnostic just so I can get my car towed to the dealer. I was told today (7/17) by Fatima that a manager would call me back TODAY to discuss the mishandling of my claim. When I called back an hour after the time, she said her supervisor was in, there was no supervisor to take my call, and someone would be with me in 24-48 hours. I am out money and time because Alpha will not call me back in a timely fashion to resolve. I have wasted a week of my life calling everyday managing this claim myself. I will never buy again from Alpha Warranty Services and I will tell everyone I know not to buy form them as well. Alpha do the right thing and give me my money back!

My suv has been in the shop for 3 months. Alpha won't call the vendor nor switch vendors after the 2 hired sent faulty parts. Mechanic shop as well as myself call everyday and get nothing but the run around. They blame the shop they recommended in their network for everything wrong Meanwhile im spending money on ubers and altering my life because im down a vehicle I just purchased a month before my claim. How do they treat people who spend their money with them this way I have no idea.

Hi Dashaun,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to respond with the full context of your claim.

Your claim (CL10566290) was initiated on April 11, and while we understand the frustration of being without a vehicle for an extended period, the delays were primarily due to issues outside of Alpha Warranty’s control—namely, the repair facility’s repeated failure to provide required documentation and images, and later, their improper installation of the replacement part.

Here’s a summary of what occurred:

The claim required multiple requests for the same information, and we had to close and reopen the claim a few times while waiting on the repair facility to submit proper documentation.

At the shop’s request, we arranged for an inspector. Once the inspection was reviewed, we authorized a replacement transmission.

We sourced a part from a vendor, but the order wasn’t received properly, so we re-ordered and confirmed delivery. That part arrived on May 23.

To assist you, we waived your $100 deductible and maxed out your rental benefit ($490). We're still waiting on your rental invoice to reimburse you for that.

After the first replacement part was rejected by the shop, we immediately sourced a second one, which was delivered on June 11.

When that second part began having issues, the vendor investigated and found that the repair facility had failed to fill the transmission with the correct amount of fluid, which led to damage. Because of this, both the vendor and Alpha Warranty had to deny further coverage due to improper installation, which is excluded under the terms of your contract.

We recognize this situation has been difficult. We do our best to support our customers throughout the claims process, but in this case, the delays and ultimate denial were due to the shop’s poor communication and improper workmanship.

If you’re still experiencing issues, we recommend continuing to work directly with the repair facility. If you haven’t already submitted your rental invoice, please do so—we’re still happy to process that reimbursement.

We genuinely regret the inconvenience you’ve experienced and hope the situation with your vehicle is now resolved.

Sincerely,
Alpha Warranty Services

Do not buy a warranty from this company…

Do not buy a warranty from this company. There is a significant mismatch between their operating practices and the advertised 'do the right thing' values they proclaim. I have purchased extended warranties on my last 3 vehicles prior to this one (from companies other than Alpha) and have had good experiences with them. This was the first Alpha warranty I have purchased and will never do so again. They have dozens of pages of fine print with terms that are designed to get them out of actually covering a 'covered repair' which is what occurred in my situation. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your money buying a contract from this company. In fact the Audi dealer that sold me this warranty said he would never sell another one from this company based on how this went. The diagnosed problem was failure of the timing chain assembly which is a covered component by the warranty. I subsequently found out that this specific car VIN was part of a settled class action lawsuit for this specific timing chain failure mechanism. Alpha requested oil change records. I provided the credit card statement of the oil change materials purchases. Alpha indicated that since the oil changes were done at home, we were supposed to call in and record them with Alpha at the time the maintenance was completed (apparently, that is in the fine print). Alpha then told the dealer that since my records did not meet their standard, if I agreed to an engine tear down and the root cause was determined to be lack of maintenance, they would not cover it and I would be responsible for the tear down cost (~$1.5K-$2K estimated)...if it was mechanical failure, they would cover it. I was confident that maintenance was done so I communicated that I agreed to the tear down. Alpha then changed their mind (probably had assumed I wouldn't agree to tear down) and said they would not cover it because my records did not meet their requirement which includes calling in and recording it at time of maintenance. I understand and agree with the spirit and intent of requiring maintenance records...to prevent unscrupulous customer from taking advantage of the warranty company. This was a case of a known (even litigated) failure mode on a vehicle that was not maintenance related. If the company actually followed the CEO's mantra of "as long as we do the right thing and treat people how we are supposed to, things work out" a different decision would have been made with my claim. Instead Alpha Warranty used their extensive fine print to avoid doing the right thing.

Hello Brian, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your claim didn’t go as you had hoped, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide clarity. Your claim was carefully reviewed and ultimately denied due to a lack of credible maintenance records, as required under your vehicle service contract. The contract clearly outlines your responsibility to follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule—including timely oil changes—and to retain verifiable, computer-generated receipts for all services. Unfortunately, we did not receive documentation that met these requirements. This obligation exists to ensure that covered components are properly maintained throughout the life of the contract. Without these records, we cannot confirm the vehicle was kept in a condition that supports coverage eligibility, which is standard across the industry and detailed in your contract under the “Contract Holder Obligations” section. We understand that claim denials are disappointing, especially when you’ve had positive experiences with other companies in the past. That said, our goal is to apply the terms of the agreement fairly and consistently for all customers. If you have documentation that you believe satisfies the maintenance requirements, we’re happy to re-review the claim. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Wish I could do 0 out of 5

Wish I could do 0 out of 5. Absolute scam and joke of a company. Customer service won’t let me talk to the auditor (wont provide credentials of the auditor) who denied the claim also won’t send me the auditor’s report(said I would need to get legal counsel to get report), customer service won’t talk to my mechanic. Also jerked the mechanic and myself around for over a week before saying it’s denied Paid over $4k for coverage for them to tell me surface corrosion is why internal parts failed even though mechanic has sent videos saying otherwise. Absolute scam.

Hi Josh,

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating claim issues can be—especially when you’ve invested significantly in a protection plan and are counting on that support during a breakdown.

We’ve reviewed your claim in detail to better understand what occurred. The denial was based on findings reported by the repair facility, which indicated rust intrusion on the vehicle’s side steps as the cause of the failure. Unfortunately, corrosion is not a covered cause of failure under your contract.

That said, we want to be as fair and thorough as possible. If you or your mechanic disagrees with the findings, you can return the vehicle to the repair facility and request a reinspection. We’re happy to send out a third-party inspector (TPI) to take a second look and gather an independent opinion. Our goal is to ensure the claim is evaluated properly and objectively.

Regarding your concerns about communication, while we do follow strict procedures for privacy and compliance, we are committed to transparency within those boundaries. Our Customer Service team is always available to discuss your claim and walk you through next steps, including facilitating communication with your repair facility.

We’re here to help and would appreciate the opportunity to review this further if you’d like to proceed with an inspection. Please contact our team directly at 800-662-5519, and we’ll make sure you’re supported through the process.

A legal scam

Too bad that there is no an option for zero stars. I paid the top of the line coverage for my Ford F-150, I have had 2 cases of engine repairs, no repair was covered, it is basically a legal scam. Do not waste your money with them.

Hi Mr. Peralta,

We’re sorry to hear you’re frustrated, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

We’ve reviewed your claim and contract details to better understand the situation. You currently have our ABC Extended coverage, which is a stated component contract—meaning it covers only the parts specifically listed in your coverage section. According to our records, only one claim was submitted, on May 7, 2025. That repair facility diagnosed issues with the front crankshaft seal, valve cover gaskets, and vacuum pump, all of which fall outside the list of covered components in your contract.

We understand this can be disappointing, especially when you've invested in a top-tier plan. Unfortunately, items like the front crankshaft seal and valve cover gaskets are not covered unless directly tied to a covered repair. While there is an option to enhance seals and gaskets coverage, your vehicle exceeded the mileage limit at the time of sale, making it ineligible for that add-on.

Our goal is always to be transparent about what's covered, which is why we provide a complete breakdown of included components when the contract is sold. We’d be happy to go over your plan again in detail and answer any remaining questions—please reach out to our customer service team at 800-662-5519.

Purchased Through Sears Imports

I purchased an extended warranty through the dealership; however, when the time arrived to file a claim, the process was remarkably challenging. Upon contacting Alpha Warranty, I was informed that they would not cover the full costs associated with my claim. It appears they are collaborating with the dealerships to limit their liability by excluding items such as nuts, bolts, and cleaning supplies from coverage. This seems to be a systematic approach to reduce the financial obligations of the warranty company. Consequently, I have decided that I will not invest in an extended warranty again, as I find the practices of these companies to be questionable and potentially deceptive. I would encourage people to think twice about purchasing an extended warranty. I will be filing with the Attorney General. SCAM

I assume you cannot fix the car without the screws and bolts, so the warranty seems mostly worthless. Additionally, the cleaning supplies appear to be just another way for the consumer to pay more. I have submitted my complaint to the Attorney General. I will inform Sares Imports that the repair does not require screws, so please do not charge me for that. This feels like the biggest scam!

Every repair has been like pulling teeth with this company!

Dear Mr. Gehle,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your frustrations and appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points regarding your service contract and recent claim experience.

Since the start of your coverage, your P1 service contract has supported three claims—two of which have already been fully paid, and a third that was authorized—with Alpha Warranty covering a total of $3,347.93 in approved repairs to your vehicle. We are proud of how your contract has performed, and we believe it has delivered significant value and protection when you’ve needed it.

Regarding your most recent claim: the vast majority of the repair costs were covered. However, certain minor items—such as screws and part cleaners—were not eligible for reimbursement. This is not unique to your contract. As clearly stated in Section #13 of the “What Is Not Covered” portion of your agreement, fasteners, shop supplies, and similar incidental items are standard exclusions across nearly all vehicle service contracts in the industry.

We understand that on your previous claim you may not have had any out-of-pocket costs, which might have led to the impression that your contract would cover absolutely everything. However, as with all legal agreements, it’s essential to review the terms, conditions, and exclusions outlined in the contract itself.

Your statement labeling Alpha Warranty as a “scam” is not only unfair and inaccurate, but it also ignores the thousands of dollars we've already paid toward your vehicle repairs under this agreement. We stand firmly behind our mission to offer real, reliable protection to vehicle owners, and the record of your coverage speaks clearly to that commitment.

We value your business and sincerely regret that your experience has left you feeling disappointed. If you have any further concerns or would like to speak with a senior member of our customer care team, we welcome the opportunity to connect directly.

Disappointed Customer

My Audi service rep stated he has been working with Alpha Warranty for 2 weeks trying to get a claim approval and they approved 3 hours of labor and the job is 14 hours for an oil leak. That is a huge disparity therefore I would be responsible for 3,000 out of pocket expense. I never had this problem with AUL and I had them for 6 years. Anything that was covered was always covered fully less my $100 deductible. Both warranties were purchased through the dealer where I bought the car. I'm just so disappointed.

Hi April,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand how frustrating it can be when repair costs don't align with expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Regarding your claim, the labor was adjusted to reflect the published time in ALLDATA for the front timing cover repair, which was verified as the failed component by the repair facility. It appears that the repair facility may have included charges for the rear timing cover repair, which has a higher published labor time than the front cover repair.

Additionally, we covered a new timing cover at a cost of $599.20, even though the contract specifies coverage for the gaskets required for the repair—not the entire cover itself.

We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused and would be happy to discuss this further to help clarify any outstanding questions. Please feel free to reach out to our team directly at 800-662-5519.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention—we value your feedback and hope to resolve this to your satisfaction.

Inconsistantcies and failure to justify reasoning.

Complaint: Lack of power - excessive smoke. Cause: Internal failure to both turbos - impeller seized up. Leaking coolant through turbo. Update: Both Turbos have failed internally. Found nuts to be off impeller wheels, one in the turbo housing and one in a charge pipe that fell out during removal of pipe. The turbos have coolant leaking from them. Appears that nuts came off, shaft walked out and ruined impeller Correction: Replace both turbos and accompanying lines.
From contract: PLAN COVERAGE A8: TURBO or SUPERCHARGER: All Internally Lubricated OEM parts of the turbo or supercharger. Turbo or supercharger case is only covered if damaged by Internally Lubricated part of the turbo or supercharger. Under WHAT IS NOT COVERED 1. Any part not listed in the PLAN COVERAGE You selected.
They told me that the impeller is an internally lubricated part, the impeller cannot function properly without the bolt, the impeller failure caused the seize up of the turbos, it is a manufactured part of the impeller, the bolt cannot be serviced separately from the impeller, and they could not answer how the bolt was a separate entity from the impeller. But it is denied because nuts and bolts are not covered.... but nowhere in the contract does it say bolts on covered parts are not covered. My service department even tried to talk to them and are just repeatedly told bolts are not covered. The turbos are integrated, interdependent system, they are an internally lubricated rotating assembly. To make things worse the lengthy process I talked with customer service multiple times and they would give me conflicting information or even hold information from me, like the appeals process.

Hello Ms. Devenport,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent claim. We understand how frustrating this situation has been for you, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the reasoning behind the claim decision.

After carefully reviewing the details of your claim and the terms of your contract, we’d like to provide additional context regarding the outcome. While your contract does cover internally lubricated parts of the turbocharger, the root cause of the failure — the nuts coming off the impeller wheels — falls outside the scope of your contract’s coverage.

Here’s why:

The failure was traced to the nuts coming off the impeller wheels, which caused the shaft to shift and ultimately damaged the turbocharger.
Since the nuts and bolts are not listed as covered components under your contract, the damage resulting from their failure is not eligible for coverage.
Section 5 of the contract specifically excludes coverage for damage to covered parts when caused by non-covered parts — which applies in this case since the nuts are not considered covered parts.
We understand the complexity of this situation, especially when dealing with an integrated system like a turbocharger. While the impeller itself is an internally lubricated part and would typically be covered, the fact that the failure was initiated by a non-covered part (the nuts) means that the resulting damage is excluded from coverage.

We apologize for any conflicting information you may have received during the claims process. We take your feedback seriously and will work with our team to ensure more consistent communication moving forward.

If you have any further questions or need additional clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We value your business and hope to have the opportunity to assist you in the future.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Sincerely,
Alpha Warranty Services

Was happy that the warranty covered…

Was happy that the warranty covered this repair “This time”, however in Aug of 2023 I had a transmission issue out of state in Muncy PA andhad the truck flat bedded to Blaise Alexander Chevrolet. They notified, sent requested pictures of evidence (in the pan) and we waited two full days for authorization (I had to uber to a local hotel for 2 nights. The 3rd day was given an authorization code for the repair but was told I would have to wait for a replacement one to be delivered to the dealership. As I was out of town and had important family matters to tend to, I couldn’t wait as the dealership had transmissions in stock and I had them install one so I could continue on my way. At that point your approval was rescinded and I had to pay $2864.64 out of pocket instead of my deductible. I reached out till I exhausted my ability to get this corrected. I was and still am very dissatisfied with the wait time for a “covered” repair due to the length of time to get the authorization. If this breakdown occurred near where I live, it wouldn’t have been an issue as I would have been nearby and able to tend to my family issues. I would sincerely appreciate talking with someone from your company to resolve this issue. I purchased this warranty on good faith for $2972.00 then had to spend another $2864.64 for this “covered” repair due to having to return home (over 3 hrs away)! My name is Brad DeWaal 585-208-7749. Thank you in advance.
