I spoke to Binish from Al Rayan Bank. She was friendly and dealt efficiently and professionally with my query.
Extremely poor service, it'd have been better to sleep on my money than pay it into Alryan.
The returns on savings are okay, nothing special or worth the effort but its a halal service which is what we need. Their service on the other hand is really bad, bad on a world class level bad!
So Alryan are consisten, in the art of being tat ti.... their online services are slow and complicated, customer service, management and willingness to help seriously poor.
It takes forever to register for online banking, I had issues registering on my new phone so called up, the advisor told me my account was blocked now and that I'd have to write a letter and send a copy of my passport or driving licence.
I haven't got time to chase the bank, they're only available 9-5pm Mon to Friday. So this went on for a while, I called again and was told the same thing, I asked for a manager callback which was agreed but never took place.
I then wrote in asking for access to my bank account, I really needed this sorting to work out my zakat, I also asked to close my accounts and sent a copy of my driving licence.
I got a letter to say we called you but couldn't get in touch and to call us, and flippin to call mon-friday 9-5pm, when most people are working.
I eventually had the chance to call and was told that I need to send my actual driving licence or passport into to the bank by post, WTH... anyway asked for a manager call back, they agreed it'll take place 11th or 12th March 2024, never took place. Its as though they don't want to help, crappy service from the people who should be making light work of this. Its so much easier to get something sorted when you have a bank that pays you interest. Why make halal so difficult.
I'll be turning other options for halal investment and savings such as Gatehouse, and they have better returns than Alryan. Once this crappy bank has sorted my complaint I will be switching.
Gurmeet Singh very good and halpfuly person i like this tour and he knows all roads.

I ve been with them since 2009. Whoever since last year the service degraded to a point where I Closed down my account and I can’t wait for my son to reach 16 so I do the same to his account. Too many new processes and hurdles which I personally can not tolerate so it is better to say goodbye Alrayan Bank.

My recent attempts to register with the Al
Rayan App resulted in frustration and failure.
An email of complaint to the Bank was immediately followed by a call from Customer Service.
My complaint was listened to and dealt with patiently by Zakariv. Am now fully registered and grateful for the assistance.
Impressed!

I submitted my application for an account with Al Rayan Bank. I received an email acknowledgement stating: "Thank you for your application to open an account with Al Rayan Bank. We will contact you shortly to complete your application." After submitting my application, I did not receive anything. I waited and waited and then decided to follow up on my application. To my surprise, the team told me they contacted me via Postal Services. I asked them where exactly your acknowledgement email says I should expect a package via postal services. They did not have a single clue. I never received anything via postal services. I also never received any emails from the bank informing me to expect a package via postal services. The final reply from the Customer Complaint Officer stated: "Please note that while the email mentioned that we would be in touch shortly, it did not specify the specific method of contact. Our current process is that we write to you, informing you of the requirements to proceed with the account opening." The bank's current process is a guessing game.
Reply from Bank: "Our standard procedure for new savings accounts is currently to send a Welcome Letter, outlining the next steps for account opening. This is referenced on our website."
This is untrue. The email I received didn't have anything about: 'outlining the next steps for account opening'.
'This is referenced on our website.' Nothing in the email said I should check the website.

The customer service is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The contact centre staff are so warm, friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Justifies my decision in moving to Al Rayan Bank. Keep it up

Firstly there was a lack of information about CHAPS and the process for this on the website. The limited info then took me to a page that said no longer available. (My Suggestion: more information on process and timeframe).
Secondly I was told to write a letter in order to initiate the chaps process considering we are in moving towards a digitalised world. (My Suggestion: use email or app as alternative).
And finally my thanks and appreciation goes to Kiran S, from the payments and processing team for resolving my issue promptly and at a very short timeframe, constantly keeping me updated. (My Suggestion: please pass my comments and appreciation to Kirans manager)

They're fraud bank dealing with fraud people, they provide very low mortgage which is supposed to be for those who have low income for the people who work at an Oil compound abroad, the landlord bought a house while he's living abroad, working abroad and not supposed to rent it as he's not allowed under the mortgage agreement, when this mater reported yo the bank with evidence in 2021 and 2022 the bank still not taking any legal actions for the buyer, and we as family of 7 members with two autistic children rented the house and was promised to live there 20 - 25 years, we were asked to leave the property after 14 months because of the landlord daughter want to come from Qatar and study in Scotland, the bank under the mortgage agreement should take the real legal actions.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review as normally I wouldn't want to write a negative review over those that aim to provide services aligned to my faith. However, I feel this review is very necessary in order to ensure others don't go through the same experience.
I have tried since November 2023 to open a savings account on behalf of my mother. Despite several phone calls and apologies from customer services advisors, the account has still not be opened. Letters that were supposed to arrive do not arrive. This has literally cost my mum thousands of pounds. She sold her property some time ago and was looking to invest her money in a shariah profit account. We waited patiently (2 months and counting) for Al Rayan believing they had a better reputation and history than other shariah profit accounts. It was a mistake. Had we gone for a different provider we would not have lost thousands of pounds. Very disappointed.

Previously I wrote a report about this bank and how it took over a month to transfer an ISA to another provider. They were hopeless using excuses about procedures etc. Just to give you an idea the Leeds transfered another ISA to the Kent Reliant in 7 days. Yes 7 days and not over a month. AVOID THIS BANK. I have had a reply from them saying they understand about prompt service. WELL THEY DONT OVER 30 DAYS TO TRANSFER AN ISA IS NOT PROMPT.

I struggle a lot with the app as I think there have been technical issues and login details issues but whenever I call the bank is great at helping me sort this out. They are very patient, polite, professional. I spoke to Abu the other day to assist who was all of the above. Thank you so much!
