THE WORST TELCO!!
THE WORST TELCO!!! I simply asked via online chat why the strength is low, my phone is on 1 bar!!! the quality is terrible and their response was to cut my Internet completely!!! I was stranded, stuck with no internet and this is how they handle complaints???? This is disgusting behaviour and they should be shut down immediately. If you want poor slow internet, shit service they are your Telco.
Extremely untrustworthy
You have to jump through ridiculous hoops to cancel your service, says it all really. If you're that desperate to hold onto a customer, you're hiding something.
I am very disappointed with Amaysim
I am very disappointed with Amaysim. I have paid for the eSIM card and Amaysim deducted the payment from my credit card. However there is no eSIM provided to me. The Amaysim apps keep asking for my passport photos verification even I had uploaded my passport details multiple times.
The support agent told me they can't verify my passport details, email address (which I use it to logon to the apps), they even said can't find my credit card detail when they have deducted the payment
It is very disappointing and frustrating, the customer service is not good at all
Extremely slow delivery
I was amazed to find the Amaysim sim card today, 4 March in the mail today. I ordered it on 2 February. Not receiving the sim, when I enquired Amaysim, I got a reply on 15 February telling me "Just to set you the right expectation, the timeframe for the delivery of the SIM card is 2-10 business days. It will be delivered to your address up until 17-02-2025."
Then it never arrived until today, 4 March. The product has a 28-day cycle, which means that while I was just waiting for the SIM, I was already charged for the whole cycle even though it was not delivered.
I really don't know where the problem lies, but I think the business is responsible for the reliable, safe delivery of the product on time. And they should not start charging customers until the sim arrives and is activated. So if a customer paid for a service that was never delivered, what is it called?
My passport verification didn’t work…
My passport verification didn’t work and I was never able to use the product. They have continued to charge me monthly although I have asked them several times to stop. Do not waste your time, there are better products available!
Don't bother
Don't bother, find a different provider. They are beyond useless. The passport verification doesn't work half the time then they take 1-3 business days to manually verify it while making you jump through hoops.
Total scam
Total scam. Because I have a foreign passport, they can’t verify my ID, but they took my money and haven’t given me a refund yet. It's been a month
A foreigner traveling to Australia
As a foreigner, they couldn't verify my id from my passport and visa, which was required for some reason to set up the sim. The guy in the shop i got the sim card from said it would be fine, obviously not knowing any better. Why are the requirements so high? In canada you can buy a sim on Amazon and set it up without id or anything. It took an entire week of emailing customer service to figure it out that they wouldn't accept my id, and they wanted a contact number as well? Thats why I was trying to use your product in the first place! Ridiculous scam. If I could give zero stars I would.
Coverage has changed & is now terrible
I've been with Amaysim for a long time, and it's generally been a set and forget kind of experience, coverage was mostly good and plans are cheap. Over the last 4months I've had a many issues, I had to get a new phone because when I did a system update the phone no longer registered the SIM, got a new SIM, problem remained. That phone was quite old, so fine with replacing. Since I've had major issues with places I used to have signal, like at my local supermarket (actually, any shopping location), the office and project work site, inner city locations - no longer having signal. What baffles me is others on the Optus network have full bars of signal at the same places I have none. This has left me stranded, frustrated clients and generally feeling anxious whenever I'm relying on my phone. I will be switching.
Amaysim SMS Charges
I had an issue which was carrying forwarded from Vaya before Amaysim took over the business. However, I was so pleased with the service I received from Hence who’s working from Resolutions Team.
So many unexpected charges that were…
So many unexpected charges that were not made clear, very unimpressed. eg you pay not only to make a call, but also to receive a call.
Can’t activate sim if you are traveling…
Can’t activate sim if you are traveling on an eta. Maybe they should state that on the pack. Waste of money - also can only get refund at location of purchase, which is 1000km from here.

Do yourself a favour - avoid Amaysim
Do yourself a favour - DON'T use Amaysim
I chose Amaysim because I wanted to have my phone number but I rarely use it to call, nor access the web. Mainly I wanted it for 2-factor identification purposes.
Their offer was very cheap so I moved my phone over.
The main reason I chose them was becasue I travel overseas occasionally, and was originally assured that I could receive sms from Australia without adding roaming.
That turned out to be untrue - the phone did not receive sms and moreover when I returned to Australia a month later, the phone would not work at all. I had to delete and reload the esim, and it caused a great deal of inconvenience (although not much expense).
For my next trip, I added a roaming package (just $20 suppposed to last for a year so I could receive calls and sms - again, I don't use the phone much for outgoing calls or web access)
1: The roaming package did not work at all, money wasted and inconvenient (I was unable to log onto various sites with two-factor id with my mobile numnber listed)
2: Upon returning to Australia for the second time today 2 Nov 2024) when turning the phone back on -- the telephone is completely non-operational: cannot make or receive calls nor sms. Last time this happpened in July it took at least an hour on the phone (using a landline).
I contacted the company on their website (couldn't do it by phone obviously) and their fix was the same as the first time - delete and reload the esim.
During the chat, I asked them to escalate this recurring issue which they were initially reluctant to do - see the screenshots below - so it remains to be seen if any lasting resolution will be attempted by Amaysim
