Terrible data restrictions/connection dropouts
Switched to Amaysim for the better prices. Huge mistake. I am in an area with solid Optus signal so as a reseller amaysim should be fine but the connection has constantly dropped out. The signal strength is fine & phonecalls work but the internet connections throttled so badly it often takes multiple attempts to load a webpage. I am not sure I can tolerate this for the month I have prepaid. Changing carriers asap.
The worse customer service on this…
The worse customer service on this planet. They never resolve issues and don't have the professional knowledge. They handball to another staff who is incompetent as well. Great product.... Recalcitrant customer service. No Australian contact only Filipinos who don't know absolutely nothing

Amaysim - failing at the basics
We purchased a new service from another telco, and we are waiting for delivery of the new phone and service. Which is fine - we were aware it would be several weeks.
What is supposed to happen, is that our service with Amaysim is supposed to keep working until the SIM for the new service arrives, at which point we activate it and the port completes.
However, Amaysim have gone ahead and cancelled the existing, fully paid up service with almost a TB of data paid for.
Apparently, to restore our account, they have to cancel or order with the new telco.
We don't want the order cancelled. We want the Amaysim service to keep running until we receive the SIM for the new service and activate it. Ie, we want them to do their job correctly.
Sure, I get that we can buy a temporary SIM. But why should we have to?
People change telco services all the time, in their hundreds of thousands. With 2FA etc, a new phone number is a big deal.
So, Amaysim can't tell me why the account was closed without us completing the transfer. And they can't get it back without cancelling our order with the new telco.
Thank heavens we are moving our service, but how can a telco get it this wrong with what is supposed to be an everyday process?
Poor customer support
Have been a customer for about two years. Now on a yearly plan, but considering not renewing due to poor customer support service. Prices are good, and service is usually fairly reliable, but if you have a problem, you just get fobbed off onto reporting to Optus! I pay Amaysim, not Optus.
Excellent customer service from PAM…
Excellent customer service from PAM (Ira Pam). She was extremely helpful in transferring my number from another Telco which had been very difficult to deal with. Thank you very much.
No Problems
Ok I have Amaysim for a couple of years had no problem with them. I have plan and have no problem. I would like to know when you will be doing internet.
SIM card never arrived. Nothing works!
I live in Perth, Australia. I purchased a long term prepaid plan nearly a month ago. They said SIM card will be delivered in 2-10 business days. It never arrived, even after following up a couple of times. Then, I bought a SIM card at the supermarket, tried to active it with customer support but they said it didn't work because the SIM card was not scanned and they also said that bringing my phone number request from my old service provider didn't come through (seriously I submitted nearly a month ago!!). Nothing comes through with this company!!! Totally waste of time, effort and money ($2 dollars Sim card). I strongly recommend to cosider other options, specially if you don't live in Sydney. They are super quick to charge your credit card when selling a product but not so much aftewards. Everything is complicated. Very disappointed.
Cheap plan
Cheap plan. Good coverage. I’ve never had any problems with them.
Terrible customer services and neglect…
Terrible customer services and neglect customer. I have 4 mobile with them now, transfer from Vaya. They charged me $36 extra as vaya plan, I called they they replied contact vaya. I told them it's closed and transfer my plan here. Customer service replied its not my problem. What it is what it is. We don't have same services like vaya . I told her it's bigger and better services . No answer.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, glitchy app and website. Don’t even bother with this company
Giving amaysim a ONE star is being to…
Giving amaysim a ONE star is being to generous!! hopeless customer service they don't understand an issue, overseas call centre, long waits to even speak to someone.
Website is not user friendly hard to navigate avoid at all costs unless you can sit around all day waiting for someone to speak to and then good luck!
Coverage
Not a problem it seems until you leave the city
Walwa to close to Wodonga. No service this morning. This is typical. Outback Q or NSW. Town service only.
No service. Number deactivated and took ages to rectify, still unable to use my number. Transferred from Boost but turns out this is a big mistake!
No service. Number deactivated and took ages to rectify, trying to resolve issue with customer service for the last 3 hours and still unable to use my number. Transferred from Boost but turns out this is a big mistake!
Planned to use this as a tourist SIM
If your buying it as a tourist SIM, be aware that the activation process take 4 hours. Also the price is high considering how much data you get. There are plenty of cheaper options.
Terrible customer service and…
Terrible customer service and reception.
It took 2-hour call to change a small thing.
Don't fall into the trap
Great and easy service
I've shifted from Telstra and I couldn't be any happier. The app is far way intuitive, the customer service is super responsive and the signal quality, which was my main fear, is the same I used to have with Telstra. Everything for a much cheaper price. I've seen complaints about the customer service, but for me has been working really fine.
No working partner Network in the UK
No partner Network in the UK so best to change to an alternative provider such as Vodafone before leaving Australia if you need to receive SMS messages or calls (for two factor authentication for banking, tax, government online accounts, etc.)
Disabled auto-renew on the dataplan
Disabled auto-renew on the dataplan. I had to top off during the month. Amaysim turned on auto-renew with this, without informing me, or asking my approval.
They are now charging me this.
Edit: The customer support reached out and resolves this issue very quickly and professionally. 5/5 for customer support. Still keeping the total at 4/5 stars as the app auto-renewed without informing me.
