Do not order from AM Car Parts

Ordered an alternator from AM Car Parts on 27 April 2026 after being told the item was in stock and delivery would be within 5–10 working days. This info was reconfirmed on 3 calls post the purchase and payment being taken.

By working day 11, the part had still not arrived. We chased several times, most times unable to get through to anyone on the phone line (it rings and cuts off after 5 mins).

On 11 May we called and then received an email stating the item had been “shipped” with delivery due the following day. However, when we called FedEx they confirmed they had not actually received the parcel from the seller. Label created does not mean actually shipped - please be aware of this.

Communication has been very difficult, with repeated failed attempts to contact customer service by phone.

Unfortunately this left us without use of our car while waiting for an essential component that had been represented as in stock and dispatched.

We have subsequently requested cancellation and refund due to non-delivery, but at the time of writing have received no response to that request either.

Based on our experience, we would not recommend buying from AM Car Parts or relying on the company’s stated stock availability, dispatch notifications or quoted delivery timeframes. We bought the alternator from an alternative and have been guaranteed delivery within 5 working days and proper customer service.

Save yourself a lot of hassle

Save yourself a lot of hassle and don't go anywhere near this lot.....Ordered a master cylinder 5 -10 day delivery on 12 March 2026. Day 13 I was on hold on the phone for 1 hr to try to talk to them - no answer. I wrote to cancel the order. They wrote back advising to reject the goods and to get a refund. I rejected this and told them to cancel their logistics. They still delivered and received on the 8 April, but dropped at my side gate so could not reject. Opened the package and its the wrong part!?!??! Wrote to them to again asking them to provide a refund and to advise how they want their part returned and they are not responding some 15 days on. Absolutely hopeless. Never again.

Expect a bumpy ride with AM Car Parts

Expect a bumpy ride with AM Car Parts. They got 4 stars because they were the only supplier to have my rear bumper in stock (Kia Ceed 1.6 crdi 2007 MK1) The bumper was a perfect replacement and was of a high spec with the same O.E Number. They were also the cheapest, beating Euro Car Parts by £35.00 (They were out of stock) But the grief !!!!!!!!!!!! Once you have paid for the part and set up your account online you wonder when its going to be delivered. Well their delivery times are hidden in their terms & conditions. I only found this out when I eventually managed to get through to customer services. So 17 days later my bumper arrived, but no not for a Kia Ceed, they sent me a Kia Picanto totally wrong and it was clearly labelled Kia Picanto so then you have the rigmorale of Customer Services, Email photos of the wrong part and label identification, and then dealing with their courier DX Services (who I did not have a problem with) So 2 more days later the correct bumper arrived.
Their Customer Services team at AM Cars Parts are sparse because each time I managed to get through I spoke to the same guy (Jay) Who kept calm in a crises and got the problem sorted out. So as I said previously expect a bumpy ride.

Terrible company

​I was misled on the website to believe that it was £48 for a set of four spark plugs. I purchased two sets, but the order actually contained only two spark plugs in total. I have emailed them and also requested a refund through the order system, but no one has replied. This is a terrible company, and I absolutely do not recommend purchasing from them.

Slow to dispatch item.
Poor communication.
Wrong item sent (even after email querying)
Expects buyer to return at their own expense which goes against consumer law.
Ignores emails when challenged.

Dreadful company. AVOID!

Wow, what a shame I didn't see these reviews before ordering. I purchased a part on Tuesday because their website said it was in stock. Due to ( clearly untrue reviews on their website) people saying the parts were delivered the following day. Since then, they've only sent me an email I sent them. Zero feedback, no tracking. I have requested a refund. After seeing these reviews I have little faith I will get one. How do companies get to operate like this? I am now left without a car.

Items were deliverd up too the Orkney Islands in a timely manner free off charge.
would fully recommend AM Motors for car parts.

After emailing them texting them…terrible company

After emailing them texting them leaving reviews tried phoning without getting a reply they still have not responded to anything I’ve sent them so looks like I won’t be getting a refund as it’s been over 30 days and was allowed only 2 weeks for full refund
Shocking outfit I have requested a return link 3 times

DONT BUY

WELL JUST WOW wish I had seen these reviews before I had ordered, had escalated a claim with paypal after nearly a month waiting, no way theyhad the part, are they even a real company delaying tactics witht he paypal claim, escalated and amazingly next day item has seemingly been shipped , do not buy

Either scammers or fraudulent who knows

Still waiting for a response,
I got in contact with PayPal and low and behold two days later they dispatch the item.
It has arrived to my relief.
But if I hadnt contacted PayPal I'd have been scammed out of my money.
Certainly according to feedback on here they are certainly scamming or doing something dodgy.
My advice is buy off a company that has a trade counter , With people whom answer phones and emails good or bad
But this lot..
I really don't have words for them.

Disaster

Disaster! They said it will take 3 days for the item to be shiped but it took 4 weeks, and the item is still on transit! they never respond to messages. Rubish!
