Easy, affordable and thorough!

The process of banking our child's cord blood was easy to manage with the kit that we received well in advance. The forms were easy to fill out and the hospital staff seemed to have everything they needed. The pick up was a little awkward, but that had more to do with hospital policy, the time of day and being shifted to a different room at the same time.

Personal Service

The folks working for Americord are fantastic at offering great personal service. During any interaction they always called me by my first name which made me feel valued as a customer. I thought it was awesome how they gave me a timeline of what to expect and then a back up plan should things change rapidly. They are well prepared to help their customers with any scenario! Thanks so much!

Americord made it easy and affordable to do something that is so important!

Americord was great to work with and made the process easier. The harder part for us was working with our doctor and hospital to make sure they were doing everything correctly. It was the first time thy had done cord banking with Americord so I think if Americord becomes a more well known name in the hospitals, that would make it easier for the doctors and nurses to know the process!

Super Easy

It was super easy to use the kit! Americord even offered to deliver a kit to the hospital if I forgot it. Luckily, I remembered it. I always had excellent customer service.

Good experience so far

I have had a good experience with Americord so far. They were really quick in response and the collection process right after the delivery.
Hopefully the experience would stay this good for all the coming years. I would recommend Americord to my friends.

So far, So good!

Using Americord was easy and simple while at the hospital. So far we've had no problems and the price is very fair.

A survey a year and a half after our birth, really?

Blood collector showed up to the hospital with no identification whatsoever. No way, other than his word that he worked for or was contracted by Americord. We also never received any confirmation that our blood made it to any facility or any information on how to find it if we need it. No follow up at all.

Except now. A year and a half later.

Do we have an account set up somewhere online that we can access? Any way for us to verify that our very expensive process of collecting cord blood was all for not?

Hi Greg, this is Martin Smithmyer, CEO of Americord. Thank you for your feedback. We take this feedback very seriously. I can understand and imagine that, handing over your baby’s stem cells immediately following birth to a stranger in the middle of the night that works for a medical courier contracted by Americord might be a bit disconcerting. As a result of your feedback and the feedback from our other valued clients, we have reviewed and revised our procedures around pickup to ensure the best possible experience during the pickup process.

I also understand that you didn’t receive your Certificate of Storage. Typically we send a Certificate out to our clients immediately following the confirmation of storage. From time to time, depending on a variety of factors, including which email address was provided to us during enrollment, the Certificate doesn’t go to both parents. It appears that we do in fact have a copy of the one that was sent previously to your wife’s email address, and I have asked client services to send a replacement copy to you. If you don’t get it in the next day or two, please feel free to call and reference this review and exchange.

We are also working on a newsletter and an updated client portal for our existing clients, so that we stay in better touch with our clients in a way that is most valuable to them. Our deadlines for both of these are Sept 30, 2016. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at 866-503-6005 x2 and reference this review and my response, and once again, thanks for your feedback.

No issues

No issues, but haven't received any notifications since I paid off the account. I actually forgot that we had banked our cord blood until I received this email soliciting a review. It would be nice to get updates occasionally.
