Absolutely disgusted with Amey!

Absolutely disgusted with Amey!
I cancelled their Trade Waste Contract, to end at the end of October.
1. Their final collection STILL has not taken place!
2. Collection of their overflowing containers STILL has not taken place!

I cannot believe a company with such disregard for health, safety and the environment are still licensed??!
I have chased and chased, constantly promised that the bins will be removed from our property, and yet they remain!
I have decided to now escalate this issue to Environmental Health, and have requested an address to forward an invoice to them, for storage of their containers since November!

Were supposed to fit our smart meter last Thursday...no show...no explanation..no apology...and Scottish Power tell us all they can do is request another date from them (amey). Who's wagging who's tail...Who's paying who...is this the best we can do in this country???

Waste solution is a rubbish

Waste solution is a rubbish. The keep forgetting to empty bins again and again, even when they are strait in front of their noses on the pass way. Phoning does not help as they will say "Probably bins were not presented". I tried even to go outside during the collection to be sure they take them and realise, there are few neighbours watching Ameys as well! Ridiculous!

A disgusting and shambolic company that fail to meet their obligations and then shirk all responsibility. If you have any choice do not use them. I don´t have a choice as my council uses them but I have let me council know.

Please don't get a smart meter

Please don't get a smart meter. It's taking people's jobs away as they won't be needed to read meters etc. Smart meters don't save you money it only gets you looking at the meter to see what's in the red. You don't want to be worried about if you have had too many tea's or coffees or had the heating on for too long etc. We don't need more stress in our lives. Even if it gets to the point where we will have to have one it won't make me change the way I live. I work too hard and deserve to enjoy some home comforts like heating etc.

Today was my fourth attempt to get my meter changed. 1st time someone turned up but said they couldn't change the electric without consent from the neighbour because they need to turn off power to both houses for up to an hour. Fair enough but would have been nice to know in advance so I could sort it with my neighbour.
Second attempt i had the neighbour ready to consent, but nobody turned up and I was never contacted, I had to call in to find out. Same thing third and fourth time, each time this is a major inconvenience for me and my neighbour. This company is beyond appalling at both providing a service, and customer care. Unfortunately I don't know how I can get a meter changed without them. I guess they know that and therefore make no effort to provide a decent level of service.

First appointment to fit two smart meters.... engineer never turned up.
Second appointment ... engineer turned up and looked at gas meter on outside wall of a new house and said it had restricted access so would need an adaptor kit for piping. He left and didn't do electricity meter either.
Awaiting yet another report and then third appointment.
2 months now passed.
Yawn..........

Caught lying this time!

Sorry for the length of this...
Had 3x smartmeter appointments today, 2x properties across the road from each other, the 3rd 3 minute walk away. Simples I thought.
Scottish Power told me they had confirmed with Amey that I would have a call before they arrived, so I knew which property they were starting at, AND all 3x appointments would be with the same engineer because they accepted I can't be in 2x places at once.
These were my conditions for allowing the installs to go ahead.
The day started when I received a call, private number, to cancel the 3rd appointment as the engineer had been sent home sick, the person clearly didn't know about the 2x on the same road until I asked but he confirmed they would go ahead, and they were with the same engineer but he couldn't do all 3x as they had promised.

Shortly after, one of the girls contacted me because the engineer had arrived, no phone call in advance so its lucky somebody was (unexpectedly) at home.
Engineer wasn't asked to call in advance. Sigh..

As he finished the 1st install, he had a call which was very obviously telling him to go somewhere else and not to my 2nd appointment accross the road.

Whilst my engineer was talking to his manager I received a call from Amey to cancel my 2nd appointment because the engineer (stood in the same room as me) had also been sent home sick!!!

The moment i said 'he looks OK and he's stood next to me', he realised their lie had back fired. He quickly suggested there may be a mix up and put me hold for 5+ mins.

My engineer, now put into an impossible position by his managers, reluctantly, confirmed he had been told to drop my second appointment to go to another job, which needed his higher qualifications.

He knew I had heard the conversation and even tho it was from one side it was very clear what was being said. He even told his manager I was with him on more than one occasion before they called me.

When Amey came back to me I was told there had been a mix up with addresses and my engineer would be able to do my second appointment after all. I asked if my engineer knew this, and I was told he'd been called and did know. I was in same room and they hadn't called him!

I had a very quick apology for the mix up and they ended the call. Within a few seconds my engineer received a call to tell him to stay and keep my 2nd appointment.

My engineer was excellent, polite, professional and knowledgeable, and was clearly put in an extremely difficult position.
I'm contrast, Amey management are clearly very content to lie to customers and disregard the inconvenience they cause - certainly not professional or customer focused.

I now have no doubt they lied about the first canceled appointment 'due to the engineer being sent home sick' .
Same 'excuse' twice in one afternoon to the same customer!
Simply poor management, clearly no morals and they were caught out this time.

I'll now need to book another day off work due to their incompetence to complete the installations.

Awful service and will not accpet Complaints!!

Failed to replace double yellows lines on the main road outside our house following resurfacing - an accident waitng to happen. Series of calls to Amey to no avail. Misleading statements and lack of transparency. Clearly trying to avoid racking up formal complaints by denyimng access to the complaints procedures. Told I cannot make a complaint!!!!

As Trafford Council seems to have subcontracted much of their facilities to this shambolic outfit, I can only imagine that the local authority are either incompetent, naive and/or so focussed on getting a cheap deal that all other considerations are ignored.
It will be no surprise when this goes down the same toilet as Carillion.

TOTALLY useless Amey

Never collect bins weekly as paid for. Best we can expect is overflowing communal bins to be collected every fortnight or less often. Ealing Council POWERLESS and TOTALLY SUPINE in making this lamentable company do their job. Result - stuffed ratepayers.

Smart Meter costs incurred

An Amey engineer came to fit smart meters for our gas and electric for Scottish Power which resulted in our boiler not working. We were informed by the engineer that this was because the fuse had blown. He attempted to change the fuse using one from a lamp however dropped this behind the back of the fitted cupboard and informed my mother who had kindly waiting in for him as both myself and my husband were at work (Amey only appear to work during office hours which is not practical for a working family) that there was nothing else he could do and left the property with no heating or hot water. Before leaving he asked my mother to ‘sign that he had been that morning’ with no further explanation as to what she was signing for and no demonstration on how to use the smart meter or even plug in it. Later I was informed that the work had been ‘completed’.
My mother rang me in tears, I contacted Scottish Power who advised I replace the fuse (which on my return from work my father in law did after a detour to obtain 2 fuses!)
This did not work, we then realised the plug sockets were not working all down one side of the home (same side as boiler and smart meter).
I contacted Scottish Power again (1 hour phone call) as Amey engineer was contacted several times and talks with team leader, we were informed that we had to call out an emergency electrician and gas engineer to rectify the problem (this was at 5:30pm on a cold Friday night) and we would be reimbursed for the cost by Amey. A call out charge of £82.80 was required with a further payment of £95/hour. In total £177.80 as luckily the engineer found the issue in a timely manner. He came and identified the issue and was obviously as a result of the work completed by Amey that morning.
I find it difficult to believe that Amey ‘engineers’ are not certified electrical and/ or gas engineers and are only trained to fit meters; Coming into peoples homes and cause this level of disruption and leaving without rectifying problems.
We now have our smart meters however I do not understand why these are being fitted if we are unable to use them at this time due to signal issues.
I have been informed by Amey that they are not reembursing the cost and Scottish Power are not taking responsibility. We will be going to the ombudsman service to take this further.

Give them a break!!

Give them a break!!! Arrived early to fit smart meter but asked if it was alright. Very polite. Explained what he'd need to do and what he'd need access to. Unfortunately he was not able to fit the meter as there was no room for it in our meter cupboard as we have a shower isolator in there. Explained and showed me the problem. So for now I'll just continue sending my readings in monthly which is fine. At all times he was courteous and helpful. I told him about the number of bad reviews on here and he said sometimes they are given six jobs for the day and each job can take up to two hours so do the maths on that. However, they need to do this to take account of the jobs where they cannot fit or are very straightforward.
