Professional and expert advice

Recently had a hearing test that identified some mild hearing loss.
Phoned their customer services and spoke to Jonathan who was very helpful and professional , he answered my questions fully and took the time to explain tge options in an easy to understand way.
As a result I've booked a consultant at the local branch to discuss the option.

My hearing test

Though l have some hearing loss,to be expected at 75yrs old, l am not suffering day to day and I'm considering what l want to do next. I may speak to my doctor for some guidance about this.

I lost my hearing in my left ear in 2017, found it hard hraring the tv, radio, conversaations in noisy places. Vin fro amplifon was so good & helpful he provided me with the hearing aid to make my hearing so much better that I dont hve to have the tv/radio on so loud any more I can hear conversations in load enviroments. Would highly recomend if you have hearing problems.

As a 34-year-old professional who is deaf, I recently decided to trial private hearing aids with Amplifon.
I wasn’t sure whether going private would offer anything significantly different from NHS hearing aids. And truthfully, three weeks isn’t long enough to fully evaluate something this important. But I’ve noticed something that surprised me.
The benefit isn’t about “hearing more” than NHS aids provide.
It’s about how much less hard my brain has to work.
The difference is cognitive. After full days of meetings, travel, background noise, and constant communication, I’m noticeably less fatigued. The reduction in listening effort is significant. It’s not about turning up the volume — it’s about reducing the mental strain that comes with piecing conversations together all day.
I also think hearing aid providers could do more to speak to working-age adults. Many of us operate in demanding environments — business travel, outdoor activities, fast-paced workplaces, social events — and we don’t often see ourselves reflected in hearing aid advertising.
If you’re hard of hearing rather than profoundly deaf, you can feel caught between two worlds — not fully part of the Deaf community, but not fully hearing either.
There is real value in solutions that acknowledge that space.
For me, this hasn’t just been about amplification. It’s been about clarity, and quality of life.
Since then, I purchased Phonak hearing aids from amplifon and five months later, I would never look back.

Today we visited the Amplifon hearing…

Today we visited the Amplifon hearing store on Grainger Street in Newcastle upon Tyne, my wife and I were booked n for hearing tests. On arrival we were greeted by a nice young lady receptionist who made us feel at home whilst we were filling in required paper work.
We were then joined by audiologist Andy who started to explain how the hearing tests would be conducted and what was involved technically in carrying out these hearing tests. Before any progress to the testing room Andy asked both of us pre test current and historical hearing problems, unfortunately , due to previous childhood ear treatments Andy reluctantly said he was unable to carry out tests on my wife’s due to her previous treatments.
Andy and I then moved into the testing room. Before the hearing test could start Andy had a few more questions to ask plus a short inspection of each inner ear. Due to both my ears being plugged by hard lumps of wax in each ear Andy explained any hearing tests could not be completed until both ears were cleared of wax.
Unfortunately both our tests were not completed, however we would highly recommend Amplifon hearing centre’s and in particular the audiologist Andy who was very efficient, professional and understanding.
Finally we can clearly state that at no time were we asked to pay for their services, hearing tests are completely free.

Hearing aids

My first hearing aids were from the NHS. They were not brilliant and I hated fiddling with the batteries so I spent £2000 on HAs from Amplifon (in London). They were certainly rechargeable but my assumption that they would have a T facility was wrong and it was never explained to me hat no HAs are both rechargeable and have a T option. I was getting more and more isolated as I was finding it harder and harder to follow conversation. So I went back to see if an NHS HA might be better. I can only say that my life has been transformed. I can take part in conversation in a way that has not been possible for some years. Music is better too.
It was the most wasted £2000 that I have ever spent.

Constant Problems

I had my first hearing aids, in 2024. The main reason was because I was almost deaf in my right ear.
After a month I noticed the right aid was not working. I returned it to the shop, and it was sent for repair.
Since then the same aid as been returned for repair four times.
I asked Amlifon to replace the aid, but they maintained that once repaired the problem would not reoccur.
I have no faith in the aids provided by this company, and will be seeking another audiologist in the future.
The staff are first class, unfortunately the product is rubbish.

Consultation at Amplifon,Eastbourne branch.
My hearing loss has been monitored by Amplifon for the past 4 years. I have always felt that their staff strived for excellence in Brighton and so I was a little apprehensive when I moved to live in Eastbourne.Initially, we had temporary staff for a period of time, but I am pleased to say that Amplifon employed a permanent and new audiologist earlier this year. Justin,the audiologist, is not only professional, but is kind,caring and a knowledgeable practitioner.He will make sure that you understand everything before proceeding with the hearing tests in a patient manner.This quality, along with his cheerful manner and professionalism is key to his success.

Audiologist Is Key

I have had my hearing aids for nearly a year now and I have been looked after by Annetta at the Hull Branch.
From what I have read on social media and press advertising it is very easy to to make the wrong initial decision if the false claims are to be believed.
The array of devices available are bewildering and as humans are requirements vary considerably.
It is for this reason our personal requirements are professionally diagnosed and matched to the correct hearing aids otherwise the chances are that you are wasting your money.
I am happy to say that the advice given to me by Annetta has been backed up by sound logic and will serve me well in the future.

Excellent service at Amplifon Dorchester

Yet again the Dorchester branch have shown what customer service really means. I lost a hearing aid, but with Jo and Lania's help I was soon fitted out with a new replacement set. Jo could not have been more helpful in arranging the prompt supply of the new hearing aids, and then going out of her way, including out of hours, to ensure I experienced the high quality product and service I always receive from this branch of Amplifon.
I have no hesitation is recommending Amplifon of Dorchester to anyone needing hearing aids.

EXCELLENT

From my first visit to Gurvir Sarai and his staff at Amplifon, Peterborough I have had excellent customer service. Gurvir gave me lots of very useful advice and guidance about the hearing aids he prescribed - how to use, care for and get the best possible sound quality from my rechargeable hearing aids. He paired the aids to my iPhone so phone calls, messages, reminders, my curated music (and BBCSounds!) all come straight to my hearing aids. Guvir's advice about Amplifon insurance was tailored to my particular needs and lifestyle because he carefully listened to me. I am very much enjoying comfortable hearing aids which give me excellent sound clarity and help me feel well connected.

Amazing they have changed my life

I visited Bhadra at the Canterbury office, after being diagnosed with profound hearing loss. Wow …. Bhadra was amazing, he took so much time to assess my hearing loss and fitted me with two hearing aids. It was so emotional I actually cried ….. I have missed so much for so many years, I was astounded at what I could hear. I’ve since had a follow up and cannot thank him enough for the profound difference he has made. No longer am I missing out on group chats, when I ride my bike I can even hear the birds singing.
Bhadra you have truly changed my life, I cannot thank you enough.
I would 100% recommend you and your team and look forward to our partnership and friendship in the years ahead.

Popped into the Swansea branch to…

Popped into the Swansea branch to purchase capsules for the drying cups. As always I received excellent customer service from Vicky and Co. Every time I attend the store I am blown away by the friendly atmosphere and all staff go above and beyond to ensure the customer requirements are met. The Swansea team are a credit to the company. Turned up on wrong day

Shrewsbury Branch Shropshire - Having turned up on the wrong day for my appoinment the receptionist was very helpful and was able to fit me in at a later time due to a cancellation. When I was seen by the audiologist she was very profssional, putting me at my ease, explaining the procedure and finally being very helpful in my decision making.

Great service from the Sheffield branch

I visited the Sheffield branch. I've never had hearing aids before but knew I was struggling to hear in certain environments and was becoming isolated.
The reception staff was lovely and helpful.
I saw William who gave me a thorough examination and explained and demonstrated what my heating was like and how it could be improved. He was very supportive, low key (I didn't feel any pressure to purchase. He let me have some aids for trial. They were great and really improved my day to a significant degree.
I had no qualms about purchasing, the price was reasonable, the quality was high and reviews of the company were positive.
I've been wearing them a couple of months now and don't even notice them any more. The app is good though can be a little temperamental in connecting to the aids. I can set the aids up for different environments, TV, pubs, outdoors, chatting at home, and this makes a huge difference. I would recommend Amplifon with no reservations.

Nothing too much trouble for Plymouth store

I went to the Plymouth store in December 2024 and again in summer 2025.
I saw two audiologists, both of whom were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and they always responded quickly and helpfully to queries.
I had two sets of hearing aids on trial and before buying. Their price beat all the local competition and after sales support has been brilliant.
