Thank you, for making quite a long journey to provide a specific kind of Survey, which was done professionally, with care and attention to detail.
I am particularly uncomfortable when people arrive to work in my home, but Luke and Jamie, were professional, experienced, and i would recommend this company for their efforts to explain their work and also communicating clearly when completing tasks. Arriving at the appointment time, which was just refreshing and stress free. Our survey report arrived on time and exactly on the day they explained that it would. Thank you.

We requested a structural engineer survey for specific defects identified from a level 3 building survey from another (excellent) chartered surveyors company who did not have structural engineers available. We were also told we needed a separate damp survey.

One of the issues highlighted at level 3 for investigation in the structural survey was inspection of cavity wall ties. It clearly states this is included as part of the structural survey and we provided a copy of our level 3 survey plus requested this in our instructions. This issue was not investigated at all and was not referred to in the report they produced whatsoever.

Our original surveyor said he suspected rot at the bearing point of the roof timbers following a long-standing leak, which was difficult to assess in a level 3 survey and required an engineer. They just went in with an electronic damp meter and inspected the visible joists, said it didn’t report damp but to allow a contingency in case we found rot when we replace the roof. So this issue didn’t seem to be investigated either.

The report repeatedly referred to a utility room and an en-suite, but the property we requested the report on did not have an en-suite or a utility, so large sections were clearly copy and paste from other reports or a standard template.

I replied to the report in writing (email) asking if the cavity wall ties were investigated and whether this was an oversight in the report. Over a week later, no response and not even an acknowledgment indicating that they are planning to get back to me.

After no response I then called the office to see if I could resolve these queries and spoke with a very polite and professional member of admin staff who explained they couldn’t help me further but would ask someone to call me back. Which never happened either.

I’ll never use this company again and categorically wouldn’t recommend them. As soon as they have your money you won’t hear from them, and they did not complete the work according to the agreed terms, which I will try to take up with the relevant regulating authority.

Helpful staff and good detailed report was sent to me along with helpful advice on next steps.

And providing follow up services if I need it.

I was very Impressed with AMS surveys. We had the Homebuyers survey. The surveyor Kimberley was very friendly extremely thorough & very knowledgeable. She let me know of a few issues & preventative solutions whilst she was there. I've since received the extremely detailed report from her which contains photographic evidence & findings. No stone was left unturned which is exactly what you pay for. I highly recommend using AMS Surveys I'd definitely use them again.

Fantastic from start to finish!

From the moment we requested a quote, through to booking the survey and the turnaround of getting the survey back to us AMS were brilliant. Very communicative and the contents of the survey were very thorough. Couldn't ask for more and couldn't recommend any more.

The review justified the reason for seeking a survey. It was comprehensive and delivered on time. We were also kept informed of each stage of the survey and when it would reach us. Our only negative comment was the fact we had to print the report it due to their policy of being paperless.
However I would certainly recommend this firm.

The survey itself was very thorough and full of advice and importantly great advice on how to proceed. We renegotiated on the basis of the survey and they accepted a lower offer.
