Hidden fees and misinformation
Hello, Anytime Fitness has hidden fees of euro 15 every six month for the gym improvements. I was not informed about it while signing and also did not see any improvements over the year. It is also a privet company, I found it unacceptable. When I signed in I pay for the key and was told that the money for it will be returned when I give it back. Yesterday I tried to give it back and was told that I bought it and I can keep it, it costs euro 35.
I also think that looking what is offered at another gyms Fitness First is too expensive for what they offer and what machines they use.
Chiswick branch is to be avoided
Warning Chiswick branch is to be avoided.
Really friendly when they want you to join and will lie through their teeth, making empty promises that never happen. The building leaks when it’s cold and yet they tell you it’s condensation. A quarter if the gym is not available due to classes which also means equipment like ski machine, rowing machines and weights are not always available.
Never mind the lack of paper towels and the non existent ventilation especially around the cardio machines.
Raising issues are futile as you simply get ignored.
Terrible
Terrible! The gym I go to is full of creepy men following women in and out of the gym and staring the whole time we are exercising. Also, if you are late for payment, your card bounces or anything like that, they charge you $19 A DAY for late fees. Stay away from this one and find a better gym.
Anytime fitness Silverbell rd Tucson Az
I came to Tucson with a goal of turning my health around. Being from Wisconsin I was abit skeptical in a new gym but my concerns were put to rest immediately. The management and its staff are the most respectful and helpful I have ever encountered. This is the cleanest gym I have ever seen. The staff and trainers are always at hand to answer any questions I’ve had and are the most friendly I’ve encountered. The customers seem very pleased from what I’ve witnessed. The gym on Silverbell rd is a model that should be followed through out the industry. I’m very pleased I sought this gym out
Squalid, Unstaffed, No Customer Service…
Gym is unstaffed and there is no customer service. No one answers the door or phone. No one returns phone calls. It is like no one works there. I bought a membership thru my health insurer but actually can't use it because no one is ever at the gym to give me my keyfob.
Great membership sad I’m leaving due to…

Wish I could do zero stars!
Wish I could do zero stars!! Anytime Fitness is the worst….We were supposed to be canceled in October but somehow we weren’t canceled then after that they started charging our old card twice a month instead of once. So 2 charges per person per month. Which we never agreed to. And we have to pay this 350 balance now to actually cancel or it goes to credit bureau.
Then it took like 10 tries to make the payment with their billing company. AND we still had to pay another month because you have to give a 30 day cancel notice which we literally already gave but we can’t pay it now it has to be auto drawn later this was nov 26. My husband gives them our new card information so we can make that last payment now today December 9 we get a notification that it was never updated and we owe them more money. I I’ve never had to work this hard to cancel the gym. I have never seen this level of incompetence from gym staff and management.
PSA - pick a different gym!!! Total trash
Basic gym but beware when cancelling
Basic gym but beware, the cancellation is a mess, they make it very hard to find & trick you into paying more based on contract clauses.

Review for Anytime Fitness Fruit Cove…
Review for Anytime Fitness Fruit Cove FL:
Good gym with decent variety of equipment. Extremely poor membership and management practices. I canceled my membership when I moved out of state in June 2024, turned in my key fob, and was assured that my account was closed. I received no further written or electronic communication from the gym.
In November 2024 I began getting calls from a collections company alleging an unpaid balance, again with no written communication. I have contacted Anytime Fitness to resolve and will update this review once I have written confirmation that the matter is resolved.
Anytime Fitness Bramhall
Anytime Fitness Bramhall was so badly maintained it was dangerous. I moved elsewhere when my membership expired; it closed 3 weeks later, as did their gym at Stockton Heath.
Really poor franchise, impossible to cancel memberships and don't care about customers. Avoid if possible.
There is no way to contact there…
There is no way to contact there financial services and they just start a payment procedure without any legal reason
Very unethical company
Very unethical company. They take advantage of the over 65 group. As soon as you walk in the door with a Silver Sneakers membership, they want your credit card, even though Silver Sneakers says there is no additional fee required. They demand a card or your checking account debit information and are relentless. If you are going to use this gym, open a whole separate credit card so you can cancel it when they get out of control. Their business practices are nothing shy of criminal. I will be spreading this word through my social media accounts as well.
Horrible customer service, great home gym
The home gym representative at Martin place is incredible and they clearly love their work and gym. No complaints there. The issue is with the head office. I got locked out of the gym on the basis of their access pass not working. Took their IT 3 days to respond with basic information. Took another 3 or so to respond. Finally the home gym manager offered to help so I finally accessed my gym. It has now been weeks since this was sorted and I just received an email apologising. No offer for compensation when I did nothing wrong. Asking me to speak to my home gym for compensation is ridiculous when it is not my fault, nor my responsibility. I did nothing wrong and yet am supposed to deal with their mess up.
HORRIBLE customer service and a complete waste of money!!
Anytime fitness is a complete rip off and waste of a gym membership. No matter what location you go to the equipment is very basic and minimum and there are no perks added on to a $24 a week membership. When I signed up for this gym I expressed my stress for money and they reassured me that I could pause my gym membership for up to 6 months and that if I wanted to cancel my gym membership I would only have to pay a $50 cancellation fee. Being told this, I signed a contract (my mistake). When I called my anytime fitness location in Woy Woy a few months back I stated I needed to pause my membership because my car broke down and I needed money for a replacement. The lady I spoke to made me feel horrible for having to pause and stated “you realise you can’t pause your membership for very long don’t you?” And she decided for me to only pause this for a month. When I called recently to ask to cancel my membership again because of financial stress and other priority bills, she laughed at me and stated there is no such thing as a $50 cancellation fee and I would owe them $430 (50% of what a year would cost) even though I expressed to her I am financially struggling and can barley afford rent at the moment. Again- completely know it’s my fault for taking someone’s word and signing a contract, however I feel lied to, used, and I feel like anytime is a gym that ONLY cares about money and not the actual client and their individual needs.
Great gyms all over the world
Great gyms all over the world. Always well equipped, spacious. The new AFLegacy App is a great support.
Moving States, Injury, and Cancellation—Anytime Fitness Fails to Deliver
I signed up for an Anytime Fitness membership in San Jose, California, under the assumption that I could cancel my contract if needed. The gym informed me that the membership required a 24-month commitment but assured me that I could cancel at any time for a $200 penalty. They also mentioned that Anytime Fitness has locations across the U.S., and if I moved to another state, I could cancel without penalty if I wasn’t satisfied with the service at the new location. This was confirmed by several points in the contract, which seemed reasonable, so I decided to give Anytime Fitness a try.
After about nine months, I moved to Ohio and transferred my membership to the Anytime Fitness location in Hudson. Unfortunately, my experience at the new gym was far from satisfactory. During my first meeting, the gym owner made inappropriate comments about my nationality (I am an immigrant) and discussed his political views, which made me uncomfortable. On top of that, the facilities in Hudson were not comparable to what I had in San Jose. I could have joined a much better gym nearby with a pool and fitness classes for half the price.
Due to an injury and dissatisfaction with the new location, I decided to cancel my membership. I made multiple calls to the gym owner, explaining my situation, and I followed up with an email requesting cancellation. The owner initially confirmed via email that he had canceled my contract renewal. However, after several attempts to reach him, he later claimed he didn’t know how to cancel my membership and continued to charge me monthly fees without addressing my cancellation request.
In frustration, I had to block my credit card to stop the charges, which resulted in a significant loss of credit limit. Despite this, the gym continued to contact me, demanding payment for a contract I had already tried to cancel. They eventually threatened to report my credit, claiming I owed $1,100.
I am now facing the possibility of legal action, as I am unable to get the gym to honor the terms of my contract, which clearly allowed me to cancel under circumstances like moving to a new state and being injured.
I would strongly advise anyone considering an Anytime Fitness membership to think twice. Based on my experience, they do not uphold the terms of their contracts, and canceling a membership—especially under legitimate circumstances—can be incredibly difficult and frustrating.
The billing and membership…
The billing and membership administration is borderline criminal. They do not respond and then surcharge you when you withhold payment. It is nearly impossible to cancel membership. Run away from these people. They fo a true disservice to their franchisees. Run.
