Something happened to me that is…

Something happened to me that is similar to what I recently read here, but also different. I'm on my email and all of a sudden ads keep coming, ads that you can't delete, and if you do get rid of one by reading it, another one comes up immediately; if you think about it this can drive you crazy. The only way it seemed, after searching all over the net, was to buy some idiotic AOL ad blocker for $4.99 per month. So I did. It stopped the continual ads but it totally messed up my computer. My trusted sites, like weather, business and finance, personal information that you need, do not recognize my google log-ins, even though I can access them on google. My NYTimes site now only gives me half a page. I spent a whole day, over ten hours, getting a systemic scan of my entire computer to see if something was wrong with it. Came out clean, with only one minor problem that was fixed. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FOR A LOUSY $4.99 A MONTH, THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY WILL HARASS AND TORMENT A CUSTOMER OF OVER 25 YEARS, like the rest of you. I THINK THAT WE SHOULD TAKE OUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST AOL. Or if not that, take individual lawsuits. We all know there is a lot of graft and misery with big companies in the US, but to me this is beyond the pale. I don't know if my computer will ever be the same. And, like others, I was told to wait 2-3 business days to call back so they can help with the problem.

Worst customer service ever.

Worst customer service ever.
I have been an aol customer for over 30 years, but according to them my email address doesn't exist. There is no contact number and the aol chat is only available to approved email addresses (which I do not have apparently). Their emails bounce back from an unmonitored account therefore there is absolutely no way of getting through to them. People have laughed at me for years for sticking with aol, now I know why. Totally useless!

Zero stars! My mail and money have been stolen

Suddenly stopped receiving mail ,their fault after using them exclusively for years. I had to pay for “VIP” C.S. Located in the Philippines. Echo, Bel, Mona etc are Sadistic reps who should work for torture programs, hang up when they are transferring, refuse to send a code to my phone, say they can only help me if they can send a code to my recovery email address which I can’t access! Maria said a “specialist” will call…nope! I’ve been at this for days! They accepted the payment just fine though. BBB and FCC needs to know about this! Apollo is the company that owns AOL and Yahoo. I still can’t access my mail. Update 11/2024 received a letter from a “specialist” requesting a picture of my license and a picture of myself holding the license plus three sent emails with the addresses they were sent to that must include a subject line and on each one that must have exact punctuation…because I have this stored in my memory!

I have been a customer of AOL for over…

I have been a customer of AOL for over 20 years with relatively good performance. In the last 15 days I have experienced the worst customer service experience from AOL in comparison to any computer service (commercial or personal) I have ever had. I have been totally locked out of my email accounts. Just when you think it is working it goes out again again. Customer services has stooped answering support calls and refers you to a help screen that is no help. I believe the company might loose a lot of customers over this radical change in customer service and product reliability if improvements are not made soon.

I have had my aol email account for about 15 years and for the first time ever, I am locked out! I can not get Any help with resetting my password. I've been locked out for a week! I wish there was a way to give zero…

I wish there was a way to give zero stars.
AOL Customer support is a total waste. I was able to find three different 800 numbers to use, but you can never get through. If you do get past the initial greeting, plan to stay on hold at the very minimum of 45 minutes.
I have been trying to get my email account re-verified since my phone messed up a couple days ago.
They want a two factor verification and the phone number that I initially used to set up. My email is no longer valid.
Of course, customer service can help you. They say call back in 48 hours. And of course when you call back in 48 hours, they still can’t help you and tell you to call back in 48 hours again. And when you call back in 48 hours again, they still can’t help you.
Asking to talk with a supervisor does not help. They say their system does not give them any other options to verify your account other than the phone number that you originally had. And then they say call back in 48 hours.
I honestly don’t know how these people are still even in business.
I was told yahoo bought AOL out. My only question is how much did AOL have to pay yahoo to take the service on?

What the hell has happened to this app

What the hell has happened to this app? A couple of days ago it was fine and it had the scheduled email feature. Now it has updated and it looks like it was when I first downloaded it. The scheduled feature has disappeared and it is hard to delete emails you don't want. What the hell is going on here. Total incompetence. Reinstate the scheduled feature and get app back on track.

Customer service is non-existent

Customer service is non-existent. I’ve been trying to reach customer service to reset my password for two days!!!!! And the recording it’s always the same - Due to a high call volume all of our customer representatives are busy, please call again later. If I try to reset password on line the 6 digit code never arrives to the recovery e-mail it’s insane!!!!
Its unacceptable for the high monthly fee AOL charges!!! Gmail and yahoo are free! Shame on you as a company and shame on the employees that choose to represent it.

I'm aol verizon and I hate aol

I'm aol verizon. I just spent over 8 hours trying to get my email up. It was seven and a half hours before they admitted that there was a problem and that we had to change our passwords. The help line phone number is still not taking calls at all. And it was planned, but of course they couldn't warn anyone or post an explanation on their website until the afternoon....

Needed to reset password after getting…

Needed to reset password after getting new number and forgetting email recovery password. Took 4 calls over 30 mo. Ea the last one was an hour and the lady reset the password on my other aol screename and I never gave her that name. So after figuring that out they said that my ID wasn't verified though it was the other day, it's insane how dumb they are and annoying. Ill never use aol again I just need to get info them now. And they still reset my password I paid and everything waiting for supervisor to call me " they were in a meeting " so couldn't let me talkt to one then.

Just horrible

Just horrible! I’ve had AOL since the very beginning but now I get hundreds of junk mails a day. When you call for help, they just want to extort money from you to do something they could do on their end if they chose too already! 🤦‍♂️

I have been an AOL customer since 1995

I have been an AOL customer since 1995, almost 30 years. I logged onto my account today and it accepted my user name and password, but then it took me to a second verification page listing three different phone numbers. None of those three numbers is my phone number. I called customer support and they can do nothing to help me. Thirty years of emails and files inaccessible because you are too incompetent to find a simple solution.

Unbelievable

Useless customer service. I called for simple support and the woman was not able to provide a solution. They require payment to subscribe to a membership in order to receive customer service and I find that such unbelievable. I can't believe that!
