Never received my dumbells despite…

Never received my dumbells despite numerous promises. Purchased the beginning of Jan, got a refund through PayPal the end of June. Shocking communication and service. Would definitely not recommend

Mixed bag

Mixed bag, but will try and be as honest as possible. As others have reported, there were significant delays to the initial order, but that was due to circumstances out of the company's control. They did send an email informing of the reasons, which I appreciated. I took advantage of the good price to get some kit for personal use and was happy to wait, so overall that delay didn't affect me too much. However as a new company, I think they tried to run before they could walk in terms of the supply line, and hopefully in the future this can be addressed by having an established stockpile in the countries that they aim to operate in.
It is 3 stars for this reason, because it can't be ignored, however;

All my dealings with the customer support team have been positive. They've responded within 72hours, and have solved any issues immediately (there have been some items missing, and to their credit, they've actioned it with no fuss. One issue was down to courier error, and through no fault of the Apex Day-1 - they had the issue resolved and resent out missing kit straight away even though it wasn't their fault).

The kit I've got, I've no complaints with. Good sturdy kettlebells that do what they need to do.

Overall: I'd say its been a positive buy. If you're prepared to wait as it is a bulk order operation, I think its value for money and the service was good. I'd like to think Apex Day-1 will try and organise their supply lines better so it becomes a bit more seamless and coherent, but they've taken negative events out of their control and still tried to be helpful. They have potential, and as I say, I'm happy with the items I received

Nearly 12 months from placing an order…

Nearly 12 months from placing an order that was postponed without any explanation and constant false promises by dragging it out. Still no refund paid after placing an order over £2000 worth.
Disgusting service to be constantly chasing this up tbh.

Absolute shambles of a company

Absolute shambles of a company. Poor communication throughout. Waited over 7 months for my order. The plates I originally ordered they no longer do found out 6 months later. The plates I received were cheaper and I am still waiting for my refund of the difference. They sent me a set of resistance straps as a sorry for waiting so long which turned out to be a EMPTY BOX. Now they will not respond to my emails again.

Hands down the worst company I have…

Hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. Placed an order in Aug 2020, still haven't received anything. Almost certain the company is running a scam, as there is no communication from them. They just take your $$ and run. If you haven't received anything from them yet report them for fraud.

5 months later….order finally completed

It seems many customers have had bad experiences with Apex Day 1 since the start of 2021 but clearly not enough for their leadership team in Australia to intervene and improve any element of their process!!

I placed my order in early January for ~£600 worth of dumbbells and knowing that throughout the pandemic many gym/exercise vendors were profiteering from demand, I specifically placed my order as products were listed as “In Stock” - had it been a pre-order or joining a back order list, I would have gone elsewhere!! The general online experience worked well - nice website, easy to navigate, view products and pay etc.

This is where my positive experience ends. From here on out for the next 5 months, it was quite possibly the worst of customer experiences I could have received.

Proactive communications from anyone of a management role were not forthcoming bar one email chain sent out forwarding details of an exchange with their logistics partner having challenges with line haul in Netherlands. Beyond this, I had to chase and actively follow up for information - which was inaccurate, slow and on one occasion included a straight up lie “my order had not been shipped”. Apex clearly has no established processes for handling demand on the magnitude it has and there has clearly been a fundamental breakdown in any ability to keep the customer at their heart of their business! Simple weekly comms updates would have been useful and a better sense of transparency also - at too many times, it simply felt like the varying reasons for late shipment were more so driven by them not knowing themselves (at least those having to reply to emails).

The management team in Australia needed to intervene and they didn’t…as a result their brand is tarnished and many consumers like myself will not return - I will in fact actively advise friends/family of my negative experience with them!

After 5 months of waiting for my…

After 5 months of waiting for my dumbbells to arrive they have cancelled my order. Still no refund though.
Not one personal email or gesture of good will in this time.
Do not buy anything from con-artists. Avoid them at all cost. They will take your money and deliver nothing but empty promises.

Awful customer service

This is bar far the worst company I’ve dealt with regarding gym equipment. Ordered bumper plates in January with a delivery date of March, however, the plates never arrived due to shipment issues.

After multiple attempts to contact customer service, they gave the same response of the delivery is delayed. After 6 months of waiting I cancelled the ordered, however, I have still not received a refund and customer service don’t seem to want to help with the situation.

I would not recommend this company and will never purchase at item from them again.

Delays and bad comms

I pre-ordered dumbbells at the start of Jan with an expected delivery time of March and I've only just received my order.

I can understand that delays happen and that the world isn't normal right now but maybe don't allow pre-orders and just wait until you've got the stock to start selling.

The communication from customer support was also lacking. They should've sent weekly updates, even if the update was still the same as the week before.
I had to send multiple emails asking for updates after weeks of silence.

Then when they finally got the stock I didn't expect it to take another two weeks for them to get shipped. My order was also packaged terribly and one of the boxes was ripped up by the time it got to me.

The dumbbells themselves seem good quality but bit of a shame to receive them so late and after the gyms have opened up again.

I was in the process of opening a fitness studio and ordered bumper plates from Apex. The company had significant delays in shipping which I understood and was happy to wait. I waited over 4 months and couldn’t wait any longer so asked for a refund which I got, then the plates arrived.

Apex very kindly let me keep the plates and the refund, which I am extremely grateful for.

I hope the company has sorted any issues they had and I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again.

Ok so there have been significant…

Ok so there have been significant shipping delays, but communication has been honest and good. advising of when products would be eventually delivered.

There communication out has been good, however they could do better in replying to comms coming in to them.

Shipping delays

Whilst there have been shipping delay issues which were beyond the control of the company the communication has been excellent. The products have now been delivered and are excellent quality and the company have also issued a full refund. I will definitely be ordering products again.

I ordered my dumbells in January with a…

I ordered my dumbells in January with a wait time until March.
I didn't receive them in March so I emailed them, in which they always responded to let me know what was happening. There was big problems with delivery which Is something some company's can't avoid.
I received my dumbells in May along with a full refund and apology. I respect the fact that they gave me a refund for my wait time!

Constant communication in a difficult time

I ordered my dumbbells during the height of the pandemic. They took a long time to turn up but the company did keep me informed and responded to questions quickly. The product is a high quality and I've enjoyed using them

Terrible delivery and customer service

Great products. Terrible delivery and customer communications. This is the second substantial delay with delivery. Website stated items in stock but no confirmation of shipping. I will never buy from you again !!!!!

Avoid this company

I bought dumbbells from apex day one in November 2020 which at the time appeared to be in stock. It took over 6 months to receive the full order, during that time I had to constantly email to get further updates although the projected dates were constantly put back for a variety of reasons including forgetting about my order. The courtesy of even replying to my emails stopped before the delivery of items. The order itself arrived in drips and drabs, months apart. I was offered a partial refund on the order should I not cancel, they have now went back on that and are not acknowledging my request to fulfil the agreement. If you are considering using this company for sports equipment my advice would be to use an alternative supplier.

6 MONTHS NO PRODUCT!

I Purchased 5 sets of plates in November 2020 and didn't receive anything until February 2021. What I did receive was half the order: a set of 55lbs, a set of 45lbs, and one 35lb plate. Two of them were damaged, one was warped and the other was ripped! When I asked them to make it right and find the other half of my order, they "gave" me a replacement and told me they were working on finding my order. March 2021 they couldn't find my order said they would send out a new order and throw in a set of dumbells. April 2021 they are out of stock still don't know where the other half of my order went I didn't receive the replacement or the dumbells either. they told me they're warehouse is in debt and they don't know when it would open up again they said they would refund me to avoid legal action. It has been 3 weeks and I still haven't received anything!!! Spend your money more wisely else where they are a new company in over their heads.

Avoid at all costs...

Avoid at all costs. Luckily I paid through PayPal and got my money back. Ordered 4 pairs of dumbells 5 months ago they only shipped one pair. The rest of the time I got nothing but excuses and lies about why I haven't got my order and when I would receive it.

They even went as far as saying it would be 100% shipped by a said date, nothing and no response

Tinpot company how they're even trading I don't know but I'll be reporting them to trading standards anyway for taking money and failing to deliver goods/service.

Ordered two products on 14th January

Ordered two products on 14th January, received one of them 3 months later due to delays. Was given suspension straps as compensation - still waiting on them to be delivered and still waiting for my dumbbells to be delivered now 4 months later. Absolutely shocking. Either don’t reply to your emails or give vague info. Supplied tracking numbers don’t work. Once I get my order I will not use again
