A big thank you to Eleftheria

A big thank you to Eleftheria, the hostess at Aya. When we arrived, there was an unexpected electricity outage, but she handled the situation amazingly. She remained calm, professional, and very informative, explaining what was happening and offering different options to accommodate every customer’s needs.

Her attitude and professionalism made a difficult situation much easier for everyone. Well done, Eleftheria excellent customer service!

During our November stay with 2 adults…

During our November stay with 2 adults and 3 children we had no hot water or heating for the duration of our stay in our barn. 2 engineers were called but a part was needed which was only available after we had left. Despite daily calls and promises of the manager to call us we have heard nothing. We’re very disappointed in the service and lack of customer care in our situation from Aria and Retallack resorts and after staying several times before this will be our last.

Been several times to the bay Filey

Been several times to the bay Filey. Total crud. Either there's a smashed glass table on your patio rusty and been like that for months or an icey drive to break your kneck on, or no Christmas tree on a highly inflated Christmas booking, not allowed to use the wood burner or the swimming pool closes at 12 noon and children totally disappointed to then find pubic hair in a burger in the pub. It's a rip off and it's totally rubbish

Disappointing

We have stayed at Retallack many times. This was the first time we have stayed under Aria ownership. The accommodation we stayed in was privately owned and lovely and the booking agency we booked through could not have done more to help. Unfortunately I can not say the same for Aria resorts we lost all water for 2 days, when we complained we just received mixed responses.

Excellent accomdation

Had a family catch up at Aria Resort St Helen’s IOW. I would highly recommend accommodation was spacious, clean, very comfortable and in a lovely area. We all commented on the high quality of the accommodation.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

We stayed at the Aria resorts in the isle of wight. We got a phone call on the day which i assumed was to ask when we was going to arrive, when we did arrive at the 5pm check in time to the site the lady who handed us the keys was in a rush and said she wanted to leave to go home. we stayed 12th to 19th, on the Sunday morning we was just getting up and the maintenance man opened the door and came straight in we have a 7 month old child dont want people walking in unannounced, he said thought lodge was empty, on the Tuesday the sofa had been changed while we was out again wasn't told someone was going to enter the lodge came back and doors left unlocked we have all our belongings in there and twice came in and leaving the place unlocked is unacceptable. on the Wednesday was raining so decided to stay in the maintenance man looked through window then taken the chairs outside, but didn't remove anyone else's?? the bar onsite very limited drinks as they ran out was also very expensive. for the money we paid was not worth the stay felt everytime we went out our belongings wasn't safe. We love holidays in isle of wight been many times but will not being staying here again.

Don't stay at Aria resorts isle of wight

We stayed with Aria in isle of wight over new year. Discription is nothing like what you get. Front door jammed so we couldn't get in or out (fire hazard). No driveway as promised. No staff to help.reception was always shut. No food in the restaurant, Swimming area is dirty and not covid safe. Electric tape round the lamp shades and to top it off dog poo all around the site. Second year we have been (in 2019 it was excellent) but definitely won't be returning to this dump!

Never visit this site or stay in…Rookley Park Isle of Wight. Adverts are a lie. Cleaned within Covid 19 requirements? Another lie. They have no staff to implicate the cleaning.

Never visit this site or stay in Caravan 114. A total disgrace. My son in law took 96 pictures of the filth, stained carpets, mouldy shower and radiator. The indoor pool showers were covered in blood, no staff to clean them up. I was staying for four days with my daughter, son in law and 2 year old granddaughter. The Isle of Wight is lovely, pity holiday was ruined by this site and filthy holiday home. I paid over £900 because festival was on at same time, something I was not aware of at time of booking (my fault?) but certainly resort or booking agents Hoseseaons did not inform me of. Festival normally in June.

Nothing as described

Just like Tom Burtons review our complaint has been ignored leaving it with the site itself which done nothing
Below was part of the email complaint

It was not an experience that I would want to encounter again or for others to endure. our reception, cleaners & multiple members of staff were informed of our disappointment during our stay but could not assist as it was out of their hands apparently.

• Outdoor swimming pool closed – We were advised this would be open weather permitting until September 10th. The weather was in its 20’s. Told upon arrival it was closed due to staff shortages
• Dog Excrement left around the site
• Abandoned bikes & cars left around the site
• Smashed Glass in various areas
• Sloping pitches despite being assured they were flat; I have a disabled Son who struggles with mobility
• Advised the wrong check in time being 4pm when we could have arrived earlier
• Showers would only stay on if you held the button
• Water coming from taps brown in colour
• Toilet rolls just dumped on the top of toilets leading to a night where all toilets were blocked as they dropped in each toilet
• Toilet rolls then put in dispenser but of the wrong size leaving people unable to get any out at all.
• Cobwebs everywhere & quite a build-up clearly over time... During Covid this should be a higher priority
• Leak from the sink leading to a constant slippery floor & myself slipping over. No sign of warning regarding the slippery floor just that the sink was out of action
• Pooh smeared on the toilet walls, this was present for the whole of our stay
• No Food available on site for the duration of our stay, again was told this was due to no chef
• Ice cream parlour / Blue surf shop was closed on multiple occasions despite a sign clearly stating opening hours of 9-6pm
• No Pool Tables in working order
• Multiple machines in the kid’s amusement area not working. Money exchange machine not working but no sign, so you continue to use & find out yourself although the staff were aware
• 2P machines stopped working whilst using, asked at the bar for help with no Avail as the lady that looks after the area was not around. Waited for a while with no avail & shrugged shoulders
• Sharp tiles within the main pool leading to a cut foot.
• Ice -cream – Pretty much no existent in the Venue
• Security – Starring through our tent window without our knowledge of him being present. This made us Jump & my daughter was left feeling scared. I understand they need to check & if we were loud then he should have made his presence known. Looking through the tent when we could have been changing is a cause for concern.
• Travelling community
Now I have left this part to the end as this was a massive disruption to our holiday. Sadly, to add further insult I have been advised by Aria staff that it is a yearly problem with travellers on this site. They were Loud all though the night with extreme language, we were shouted at & intimidated. Whilst the Venue was open my Son had money taken from him & when your pool tables were working, they kept potting the balls so they could not play. They were having sex in the toilets near the top of the camp site which my children do not need to see. Aria did not have enough Staff working to control the issue, Despite Police being called the situation remained the same. Now if this was the everyday family we would have been made to leave immediately without a refund. Yet I had been informed that a full refund was provided to the people that ruined our holiday.
The Venue got closed due to fighting amongst themselves, you had no Door staff to protect or control the situation, again we were left without due to the damages by them. Your reception said nothing can be done due to health & safety.
Overall, the holiday was nothing as described even the Entertainment Guide was not correct & activities were not as stated.
It would be helpful to be notified but again this is impossible as you do not receive signal on site.
I feel like the travellers have been treated more fair than other, guests & yet they have ruined it for other people. Aria should not be letting them back on site each year.
As pretty much everything was closed, we had no choice but to spend most days out & about.
I could not possibly recommend this site / Aria to anyone.

Aria Resorts do not care about their customers.

Aria Resorts do not care about their customers. We had a horrendous stay at one of their resorts. Tried complaining to 'Head Office' only for them to send our complaint back to the resort who had dealt with our complaint badly in the first place. Trouble is, we've had fantastic stays at their other resorts, but this recent experience has put us off ever using them again. It says a lot about a company when their complaints email address is also their general enquiries email.

Lovely place but on our first evening…

Lovely place but on our first evening we were informed there was no chef so no option to order food and the internet wasn’t working so cash only for everything . I appreciate that sometimes these things happen and are out of people’s control. Couldn’t buy a coffee either , tried several days but was told no , not sure why .
Stayed in a premium lodge which was lovely but a shame about the stains on the sofas and moldy grout in the shower. Some of the drawers in the bedrooms were broken but that didn’t effect us too much we just didn’t unpack. The location is great , lots of kids playing and running around while late in the evening but to be expected for august . No extras in the accommodation to make it more homely . Bedside lamps wouldn’t go a miss and a lamp in the living room or some kind of accessories so it’s not just an empty space . Nice little park for the kids to play on and the outdoor pool is a good size but the water was cold although it’s meant to be heated . Apart from that we had a lovely time , not sure if I would return though .

Newquay Bay Resort

Newquay Bay Resort. Sadly still on site. After spending over £1000 on a ‘super deluxe’ we arrived to find one of the twin rooms smelling of urine. Although the young Lady on reception was very sympathetic, they couldn’t help at that time but was going to call us the following morning to try to arrange alternatives. Nothing happened.
We have Four young adults and a child with us, so thought we have to just make the most of it. 3pm we thought we could go to the bar area for the afternoon for food and drinks as this has an outdoor pool. All closed.
If you’re planning to stay on resort, try to prepare to continually have to leave site, if you want to entertain children, eat or drink.
Poor experience. Certainly won’t be revisiting.

Got a call today

Got a call today, 3 weeks before to cancel my accommodation as the person who owns the cottage doesn’t want to let it out now. So last min, as much as they’re doing their best to sort this. It’s extremely disappointing!

Retallack - great for family gathering of all ages

Stayed at Retallack resort and spa. It is a fantastic place for a family gathering. The lodges are well appointed and well laid out for a larger family get together. The hot tub was a fantastic addition to our lodge and was used every day. We really loved the "lakeside resort" area, it is a fun place to chill out with a coffee and watch the watersports going on. We had great fun on the water park, and paddleboarding. The flow rider looked really cool too, and again, you can sit and have a coffee and watch that happening too. It is really relaxed, with loads to do on site, and very close to Padstow, Wadebridge etc.The spa is lovely, I had an amazing facial there and hubby had a massage which he said was great too. The kids enjoyed the pool a couple of times and there is even a Nisa local shop on site.
