Thinking of buying a holiday home here #GIVE IT A MISS
Thinking of buying a holiday home here, do not bother. You will find the value has plummeted by 80% plus if you try to resell back to Aria. Ruthless and none caring is the only way to describe these Arthur Daley / Del Boy like dealers. Keep your hard earned savings and go elsewhere as these will mug you without a care in the world. Fees increasing and a sales team that will laugh in your face. Ask Arnie to give you a written resale valuation before you buy, of course he will not. Read the small print very carefully indeed and then avoid like the plague
Information...
Cant rate as just looking for abit of info. Apparently aria resorts are giving away free weekends for lucky couples. Anyway I joined summat months ago while was laid up with broken leg. Got phone call off of aria few weeks back saying I've won a weekend away free of charge in the places these guys are saying. Is it a con or legitimate?? Thanks in advance.

We had a very enjoyable Holiday at The Lakes Rookley IOW. We stayed here three years ago and it has improved since then. We stayed in a Lakehouse and it was nearly perfect - settee not very comfortable and if 4 of you not enough seating. Lights very dull in Lounge/Kitchen area.Cleanliness was good. We found the staff very helpful - had a problem with bifold door by the time i had reported it at reception and walked back to lakehouse the maintenance team had been and sorted it out for us. Bed very comfortable and bathrooms/kitchen clean. Do think they need to check on numbers of plates, glasses and mugs as we were some missing. All in all a lovely stay and we are returning in 2020.
Ruthless
I have read with interest reviews regarding Guests booking Holidays at various Aria Resorts
As an Owner , or soon to be ex owner, the company are absolutely Ruthless, showing no compassion for families who have invested in Holiday Homes, either Static Caravans or Lodges.
Our Static is based at Newperran, between Newquay & Perranporth, where we have been for 7 wonderful years, enjoying friends and family, forging close bonds with other owners.
Out of the blue, without warning, last Friday we were hit with a letter to inform us the site fees were being increased by 45%.
As my wife and I are both retired this new figure, coupled with Gas / electric charges, pushes the fee to about £5, 400 per Pitch
On speaking to Management, the actual Manager laughed in my face when I complained about the 45% increase
We sold our caravan yesterday, a heart wrenching decision, no one showed remorse or compassion, just profit in any shape or form
Please please be very wary of this company if considering purchasing
Dirty and uncomfortable beds
I have given this a 3 because it is ok and not great. They have spent £600k on a refurb which finished in June this year. The cottage is nicely equipped but the beds are shocking. They are so old and bumpy and the quilts are very lumpy. Why Aria have not purchased new beds is beyond me. Surely this is one of the most important parts of a holiday cottage in respect of comfort. The cleaning is deplorable. It has not been cleaned thoroughly. Under the sofa is so much dusty and hair that I don’t know the last time the sofa was moved out. I daren’t look under the beds. Simple dusting of lamps and bedside tables haven’t even been done. Will not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone until they sort the cleaning and beds out.
If these were done properly then it would be a nice place to stay.
Aside from the above, the hot tub and position for the beach was perfect and this could be a lovely place if only it was clean and had new beds.

Received a telephone call saying I had been awarded a 2 nights free stay at one of their resorts in the UK..I was then informed that it could be upgraded to 4 nights if I attended a 90 minute presentation at their Filey resort. They would send out the invite letter.
I received the letter and it said that the invitation was for a 2/3 night stay in one of their uk resorts and to look on ariaresorts /invitefiley for full terms and conditions.
I looked at the terms and conditions and it said that at the end of the presentation you would be given a voucher for a 2 night free stay. I received another telephone call the day before the presentation asking if I was attending. I informed them that their literature was different to what was said on the telephone and they then stated that the telephone information was incorrect and it was only a 2 night stay...I do not appreciate being lied to to get me to a presentation and if the sales tactics are like this I dread to think what it will be like if you were in a presentation .....Reminds me of the Timeshare tactics years ago...I gave it a miss !
Waste of money
Waste of money
Terrible beds, don’t expect a decent nights sleep. We have stayed at two of these resorts now and assumed the first one was just a fluke but it appears that the beds are awful where ever you go with this company!
Also the need to cut the grass and use a leaf blower at 8.30/9am in the morning right outside if your window when people are on HOLIDAY! Is a joke!
Go anywhere else
Rookley
Rookley
No customer service, Staff a waste of time.
Save your money and buy a tent ... this will be cleaner and better than staying at Rookley.
I could list all the faults ... but no one cares .... would give ZERO stars.
Lakes Rookley
Lakes Rookley. Isle of Wight. Paid top dollar. Bufold doors on lakehouses dont fit. Had to keep locked so no access to patio but despite being for 4adults. Only two patio chairs. 3 mugs. Not enough cutlery or crockery. Not even a salad bowl. No hairdrier. No hoover. No bin bag. Nothing of anything useful at all, in fact. All stlye no substance. Flys everywhere and we had to buy our own insect sprays and drain cleaner as shower blocked. Gi en this property was brand new it was disgusting. Pool area dirty. Algae around pool. Showers filthy and never cleaned in the week I was there. Never saw a pool attendant. Very dangerous for kids. Not enough communal bins one dog bin and no recycling facilities. If this is what Aria think is a top grade facility they really are deluded and Arrogant. We travel all over the Uk with our dog. We r elderly and I am a cancer patient and this might b my last trip to the Isle if Wight. What a disappointment.

The Bay Filey
The Bay Filey. Walked in & out of first given accomodation as it was covered in stains and well battered furniture. Into property 2 which at first glance looked better than the first,so gave it a try. Then it became apparent how filthy & unfit for purpose this was too. Mould inside of windows. Cracked window. Blinds coming away from fittings. Taps running from joints when turned on. Shower rail loose. Shower screen covered in mould. Stains in carpets. Big curtain stains. A musty smell we couldnt get rid of. Furniture coming apart when used. The washing machine interior was black with mould growing. Laminate floor was filthy, my bare feet were black. We, your guests, cleaned as much as we could, then the itching & coughing started. 5 days in for a 14 day booking & we had to vacate, nowhere to move to. Refused refund. Offered 10% OFF NEXT BOOKING when complained on arriving home. What a disgrace Aria Resorts were to us. Keep my money. We wont be returning.....
should have stayed at home!!!!
What an absolutely appalling place and the customer service beyond a joke!
Despite being on a low income with only receiving disability benefits, I decided to book a weeks stay here for my me & husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I looked on the website at your special offers and because our stay was within 3 weeks I used the discount code of LastMinute to get 30% off the total price. I was shown the price as being £327.60 and I proceeded to the payment details. As I’ve already stated being on a low income this was almost all of my personal independent payment benefit but I thought it’s for a special occasion and how nice it would be to have some time away relaxing with my husband.
I then get a notification from my bank that I’m close to my limit, so I look and you have actually taken £397.80 out of my account! Now £70 might not sound like a lot of money to you but it is to me as that’s roughly what we have to spend each week. So I called to find out what has happened and why you’ve taken more that what I was agreeing to pay for our trip. I’m then informed it’s because I have used the wrong discount code when booking and only been given 15% off!! I don’t understand how you can say it’s my error as I obviously put the right discount code in as it reduced the cost by 30% on the summery page. But if it’s better for you to blame the customer then fine. On the 30th April I was told I would be refunded the £70 and that it would go back into the card I paid with within 3 days. I had my purse stolen and the bank card I had used had now changed so I called to let you know this on the 3rd of May and was told that it hadn’t been processed yet, so that if I gave my account number and sort code instead it would actually be refunded much sooner, so I gave that information and waited until the 8th May. Still no sign of my refund so I called again and was told I needed to be more patient as due to the bank holiday on the 6th that would have delayed things.
We arrived on the 10th and I was hoping that I would have had my money back by now given it’s been 14 days as I don’t actually get paid again until the 23rd and I used most of my money on booking this as a nice treat for us both so funds are pretty limited. So I thought it might be easier to talk to reception on site to see what was happening. The girl on the desk says can’t help me as refunds are felt with by the contact center, I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told there wasn’t one!
So I called once again to see what was taking so long. I was put on hold while Kirsty went to talk to her manager about this, she came back and asked me again for my account number and sort code and told me that the refund would be processed today (the 13th), so I said well i was told it had already been done on the 30th, the 3rd and the 8th, she said there’s no notes to indicate it’s been done yet! I asked to speak with a manager as I’m not happy at all and what a coincidence, the manager she had put me on hold to speak to 30 seconds ago has now left and is unavailable. But she assured me that it’s being done, I get put on hold again so she can go and talk to accounting who apparently are just doing it so it will be in my account either this evening or first thing tomorrow morning (14th) at the absolute latest. I don’t even know why I’m surprised anymore but here we are now at tomorrow morning and guess what?? That’s correct I still don’t have my refund!!!!
So despite waiting 14 days to get back £70 you never should have taken to begin with, I’ve had 3 different people tell me I have to be more patient when in actual fact it hadn’t even been processed yet!!. And now I’ve had one person tell me that this morning would be the very latest I would get back what you over charged me, and again that wasn’t correct as I’m still waiting.
The fact that we were actually staying on site and had what should have been a nice and rare treat away for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary ruined by the constant lies and overall lack of customer service from this joke of a company is absolutely disgusting!! I’ll be doing everything in my power to ensure that this experience is well documented across social media and web review platforms to prevent anyone else having their special occasion destroyed. As we would have been much happier and better off if we had just stayed at home as we have been unable to do anything here due to still waiting for the money, and because of you we were left no other option than to celebrate our anniversary with a meal of beans on toast in the caravan!!
Oh and this email was sent to management on the 14th of May and what a shocker I have had no reply from them at all! Avoid booking with them at all costs as if something goes wrong they just outright ignore you and refuse to put things right proving they don’t care about the customers at all.
Also I don’t know why they bother asking you to confirm how many people will be staying in the caravan and taking all the names just to have it under stocked when you arrive. As there were 6 of us there for the first 4 days with only 3 glasses (and one of them had a massive crack through it so was unusable, and 4 plates for us all to share! We went to reception and asked for more within an hour of checking in and even asked again on the second day when no more had arrived, but even by the end of our stay we still had the same issue as the lack of customer service from this circus meant they couldn’t even be bothered to put that right either.
shocking service
Absolutely loved Newquay view resort when Peter bull was the owner. Now Aria takes over and decides to give ridiculously short notice to kick all seasonal members off! Really would recommend finding another caravan site!
