After being a loyal long time customer of Army and Outdoors since 2002 when they were known as SAS Kiwi Disposals they have once again stopped accepting non credit card payments. I have always been honest and forthright in my transactions. And now because of some less than savory people I can no longer use their site . After receiving an honest and sincere reply from the owner and staff I understand his dilemma I apologise for being a little rough but I still feel hurt that honest customers and the store suffer because of fraudsters and scammers

Great quick response to change of clothing size ordered and allways happy with items ordered previously. I’ve been enjoying thier service for a few years now 6-7 purchases.

This is a great small kiwi business who sell great product, have a well sorted website with a good selection of items all of which are described well, they also respond quickly to any queries/emails. Will buy from again with no hesitation.

Ordered multiple times from these guys, they get what you ordered to you, when you order it, and they have a comprehensive description and sizing guides for all their items. They also have a really cool range of gear and collectables that even make browsing to check out their new arrivals enjoyable so bonus points there for the work they do to get their hands on that stuff.

I've never had a problem with any purchases from A&O. Always been good gear, and is well up to the standard according to their quality guide. Obviously if it's noted as value grade, then it's going to be a bit rough! Duh!
I'm in New Zealand, and this is an NZ store, so postage is pretty quick. Packaging etc., is good standard.
Always good communication, and prompt answers to any questions.

I've read some other reviews, and some of the (so called) problems are quite obvious. If you're in another country, then postage will obviously take longer.

Another thing I've found is that military sizing is all over the place. Some run small, and some large. I have clothing in 96, 104, 112 and 118 to fit me. Read reviews if possible to see people's reaction to sizes.

Staff was exceptionally caring with my order and expedient. Couldn't ask for more!

What appalling service from this company😩 They refused to reply to 4 emails I sent requesting help with sizing, so I dread to think how they’d treat someone trying to return an item😩😩 The lack of a phone number should have sounded alarm bells🤔 Avoid at all costs👍

Best army surplus store i have ever bought from they are kind with there emails and great with costmer service, and the website is easy to navigate.

Delivery is always fast and the items are well packed. Across the years I've bought what must be hundreds of items and have only had a couple of issues, both of which have been handled very quickly by the excellent support team.

Fast and friendly service

I was notified of a sale on West German wool blankets and purchased them. Payment was processed and the order confirmed, but a day later the order was cancelled on account of the website misrepresenting the product price. They refused to honour the price and offered nothing in exchange for the inconvenience.

This wasn't a $1 slip either (something I'd understand). The order was for $100+ CAD.

Disappointed and I feel like others should be aware if they're considering purchasing from this website.

The back and forth via email was professional and pleasant, however vendor's response isn't 100% accurate. They did notify me within 24 hours that the order was cancelled, but that initial email didn't have any compromise or solution proposed. It was just a simple "sorry for the inconvenience" type response. After posting this review I figured I'd try and see if they'd be willing to sell a single item (as opposed to my initially purchased 2x) for the price I paid ($108 CAD), and they followed up with a 15% discount offer.

Mind you, this is an item that went from $41 -> $151, and that my friend purchased for ~$70ish 2 years ago. My compromise was paying double the initial listing price + shipping with no fuss. I get that military surplus costs can fluctuate, but offering a 15% discount after a pricing error on their end, and only after I followed up and requested one, isn't what I'd call an ideal buyer experience. Best of luck on the family run business and I hope my experience is an outlier, but my review stands.

Excellent customer service. Jason goes above and beyond to help out. Great products and good prices.

I have bought far too much stuff from this lot recently, but that's my fault, not theirs! The gear is always excellent, and if they describe it as being "used/good" you can bet on it turning up in pretty well brand new condition.
Thoroughly recommend this place.

(And I have to take issue with Jimmy from a previous post.....the overwhelming majority of us Aussies do NOT under any circumstances think kiwis are a bunch of wan**rs).

Very dissapointed with there delivery options i paid for express 3 days for the delivery, it's now been 4 days and will probably end up being a week, I asked to be refunded for the extra I paid to get my delivery in 3 days but they refused
