Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 69 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people reported unexpected charges, often for £40.56, appearing on their bank statements, leading some to cancel their cards and query the transactions. Customers frequently mentioned that these charges were unexpected, as they had no knowledge of subscribing to any service from this company. The website was often described as uninformative, and many felt there was a lack of clarity regarding the purpose of providing card details, such as when paying for legitimate services like parking or food. The minority of people were dissatisfied with the difficulty in cancelling subscriptions, with some noting that even after attempting to cancel, payments continued to be processed. Some reviewers also highlighted issues with the company's pricing model, where an initial £0.00 charge for verification or a short free trial quickly escalated to recurring monthly fees without clear consent.

My bank have just refunded me £149.95

My bank have just refunded me £149.95, as this scam company have also been billing me £29.99 a month, for five months! . Call your bank if this company have charged you, they have the systems that can easily detect it as a scam transaction. Just imagine how many people they're ripping off, who haven't noticed. Just unbelievable how they're getting away with it and I like to think I'm quite I.T savvy.

I attempted to pay a £3 parking charge

I attempted to pay a £3 parking charge, the council machine was out of order, and gave up in the end only to find I had been charged £40.29 and they had set up a standing charge on my, now cancelled charge card. Unfortunately it was the day before I drove abroad. I will be taking it up with the council on my return.

Sneaky scam alert

Noticed £29.99 taken from my online account on16/4/2025 from assistbill.com for an apparent subscription I had not set up. Have no idea what it is and how they managed to take the money. Have cancelled it and raised a dispute. The bank reimbursed me within hours of me raising it.

Assist Bill probably a Scam

I believed I was logging in to my Tesco account, but realised too late it was Assist Bill. Never heard of them.
I phoned them to cancel but they don’t answer the phone. Cancelled the “account” they said I had requested.
I also sent an email to them cancelling “my account” and they replied - “sorry to see you go!” I have no idea what they do for £29 or so a month.
Phoned my Credit Card company and cancelled my card. Can’t trust Assist Bill not to rob me!
