Exceptional service

From start to finish the staff were incredibly professional and friendly, making the entire process smooth and stress free. They handled my belongings with care, ensuring everything arrived in perfect condition.

Positive experience

Me and my family had a positive experience with Astra removals from start to finish, we required some deviations from the set time and was assured they would be met, which they where. Great care was taken with all of our belongings and the workers were polite and efficient.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service, by Neil & Jason called to give a time, arrived on time , pleasant, cheerful, efficient, loaded with expert care looking after everything 😀 asking for instructions & did not mind moving sofa when I had change of mind .
Left all clean & tidy . Cup of coffee while loading & tea while unloading. So impressed I gave them a penguin each !! Well done Astra highly recommended making a difficult day so much easier

AstraRemovals a first class service

The team at Astra Removals recently moved me from Germany to the U.K. the professional approach, care and time that they took with packing and loading my personal effects was faultless. The whole team communicated well through all stages and their professionalism shone through all of this. Taking time to ensure my property was packed safely, reassured me that they were going to take care of the items in transit. The unpacking was efficient and when the house I was meant to move too fell through, changing delivery to storage was easily completed without any issues.
A very big thank you to all those involved, a faultless process from start to finish.

I would give no star if I could

I would give no star if I could!

We are a military family and moved from Germany to the Uk.
The removal van didn’t have enough space for all our items due to poor planning! They booked in to collect goods of two families, the family they loaded up before us was within their limit and calculation and so were we. However we had 60cbm which was calculated at the start and there was only space for 30cbm.

They also turned up 2 days late without the info that half of our goods had to be left behind. If we would have known this info early we could have prioritized better as to which goods we will need at the new house first.

Communication was awful since Ricky was on holiday with his family, it was a bank holiday in the Uk but not in Germany. I find it very unprofessional to have a collection on a day when the office isn’t manned to deal with issues.

We had to clean our house and hand the keys back the next day, but our house was still full of goods. And no collection was being arranged. We had to leave Germany and get back to the UK for our new jobs (we had retired from the military) and started new careers.

We had to trust a neighbour with our keys and hope that all will be organized.

The next week was one of the worst of my lives, a germany company was instructed pack and to collect the goods. They were however given the wrong address by Ricky (I saw the email he sent them with the address of the people they collected from before us) he also told the company that we would be there to meet them, which we weren’t…. My neighbour was messed around by this mistake, she left work several times because the removal company told her that they are on their way but since they had the wrong address they never turned up…. Communication with the movers was awful because they all didn’t speak English only their office did. Thankfully I speak German and I was trying to call back and forth.

My neighbour got frustrated and decided not to help us anymore. So I found a different neighbour to help, however the next day the removal company turned up without my knowledge and the home owner opened the door to our home to the strangers. It took them 2 days to pack 30cbm because yet again Ricky instructed them to collect only 15cbm so they turned up with a smaller truck. Since I was handing the house back I left all spare keys on the kitchen counter for the landlord. The removal guys just took a key to let themselves in the next day.

Our goods were stored for a month and then collected by Astra removals again to deliver to us. NOTHING was packed! We had over 7000£ damages from our goods just being thrown into boxes without packing paper, my wedding dress was packed with garden tools, the protective cover ripped and oil stains all over it! My own handwoven livingroom blankets from Portugal was used to wrap the TV… we had a ton of damage, our dyson hoover was thrown in a box with not protection and more garden tools. On top of this we had a ton of boxes missing! Silly things like a wallpapering table, a whole box of cloth nappies, a toddler carrying hiking backpack, which still had tags on it.

Our washing machine and dryer were completely scratched, no protection used, some garden lanterns were shattered, a leg from our dining table missing.

We didn’t have a full written inventory of all the small items we had, we only took as many videos as possible once we knew our goods wouldn’t all be collected. To try and keep an eye on everything. The feeling that strangers came into my home, the home I brought my babies home from hospital, the home we had some lovely family memories…. And they came in and ramaged through our personal items and took stuff as they pleased is such a horrible feeling. Being in a new home having to try and figure out what else is missing and damaged … it was sickening I lost a lot of weight during this time.

Astra removals blamed the company they hired and the the company they hired blamed Astra… we were going back and forth and were offered 400£ by Astra removals as a compensation.
We didn’t accept and kept hassling, also dealing with our own insurance, after over 1 year of emails and calls and constant request for us to prove things … we got 2800£ from our insurance and 1000£ of Astra removals.

I would urge everyone to use a different company for their removals as this company didn’t care about us at all, probably since the move was paid my the military. Otherwise I wouldn’t have paid them!

I left a google review to warn people and it was deleted… which yet again shows the integrity of this company.

I feel it’s fine to make mistakes, but it would have been nice to not let us go through nearly a year and half of the stress to try and get justice. Astra removals created all these issues with their poor planning and bad communication!

While we attempted to address the situation through compensation and by working with the subcontracted companies involved, it is clear that our efforts did not adequately resolve the matter in a timely or satisfactory manner. For that, we are truly sorry.

Your feedback highlights several areas where we needed to, and have improved, including:

Amazing Service

The team turned up on time, everytime. They were polite, friendly and courteous throughout our move. There was an amazing work ethic from the guys start to finish. I would highly recommend and will be requesting the same company for my next move.

The team was great

The team was great; it was my first move where nothing was broken. Everything was packed up well, individual plates bubble wrapped and packed properly. Over all a stress free house move.

This is to accurately respond to the response from Astra removals. In an attempt not to further lower your average I have left this review as 5 stars review but that does not mean it is a 5 star review.

Firstly, 0840hrs to 1400hrs is not under 4 hours. It is 5 hours and 20 minutes. Secondly, you were not packing that day, that happened the day before. Third, you video called me. It was explained and apparent what was required and you agreed to it. Next, you did destroy the wardrobe. It doesnt stand up without the support of a wall anymore. If I could leave photos, I would. You did repay me, sure, £40 for a £1600 wardrobe. £40 for a clock that is irreplaceable. You did also compensate me, £20, to move wardrobes up 2 flights of stairs alone, to reconstruct furniture you had taken apart and to finish the job you promised to do. Even your movers who were there asked me to sign the paperwork showing it wasn't completed as agreed and I'm sure you still have this paperwork. Finally, we lived on the first floor. And there was a lift. You have no excuses, the service was poor, you failed to make it right. Meeting your liability is far from making it right, it's meeting a minimum. I promised I would leave a review reflecting the service i received and I have done just that.

Friendly service

Communication throughout, helped pack the last few bits we couldn't finish wasn't a problem for them. All items made it in the same condition the left in. Floors were covered to prevent them getting ruined. Friendly chatty guys, sadly our kettle was packed so couldn't offer any refreshments.
