Knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating staff. Great advice & a successful sale

We have been absolutely delighted with this company. Our daughter in law contacted them when we were snowed under with a difficult house clearance with some really beautiful artefacts. Annie came and did a sympathetic, professional valuation and send us a detailed summary within 48 hours. Richard came and removed objects for virement to charity and then came again for items for auction. The communication was fantastic and clear and an horrendous situation was dealt with sympathetically but practically. So grateful to this wonderful company with brilliant people. The finance side was handled professionally and timely.

They couldn’t do enough dealing with family things I was left with. Despite them liking all the things I thought were ugly, they did help me through it all. Special thanks to Annie and Sam.

Delivered a lot more sale value than expected. They appear to me to be very well organised.

I've sold and bought through these guys on multiple occasions. The staff are all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I see some one star reviews and comments and it just isn't the business that i've experienced. Logistics, deliveries and communications all on point and at a decent price.

As an overseas buyer, I had a pleasant and smooth experience with Auctioneum UK.
I was bidding on some scripts from the Ronald Wolfe collection, and upon acquiring them, had some questions that were promptly answered.
Items were packed well and arrived in good order. Description as said on website.
I would recommend this company.

Horrible company.

I bought some bits online and couldn't collect them within the 6 days they stipulate because of a) being abroad (it was the summer holidays) and b) having a chronically ill child at home who was ill when we got back. My elderly father then got very sick and we had to dash to another country to see him.

I ended up having to pay over £300 in storage costs for 1 x poster, 2 x very small pictures and a tiny box of glassware before they would release the goods. I explained my situation and told them repeatedly I would cover storage charges (not expecting them to charge what they did given the minimal amount of space my purchases would be occupying).

I then got a threatening email saying they were effectively repossessing my goods and reselling them to cover my unpaid storage costs. They hadn't at this point even sent me an invoice or requested payment for the storage.

I ended up paying them £330 for storage and sending a taxi to collect the goods that day as my daughter was too ill for me to leave her again.

I have requested a refund but if that is not forthcoming, I will investigate legal recourse.

Please don't use this unscrupulous company unless you are in a position to personally view the goods you are bidding for and are then able to collect immediately after the auction. From reading other reviews , I suspect a large chunk of their revenue stream is ripping customers off with inflated delivery and storage charges.

A really unfriendly, unhelpful bunch. I made a 3 hour round trip to view the auction. They absolutely refused to let me view the auction without an appointment. They were pretty rude and unhelpful. There were about four women's standing around who could help me, but they refused to accommodate me. I had called in the morning to make arrange a viewing but got an answer phone message saying they were open 9-5 so thought it would be ok. Not a very nice experience...

This was the first time that I've sold in auction and I'm glad that i chose Auctioneum as the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Their knowledge was second to none and they explained everything to me in a clear and concise way. I'll definitely be selling and buying with them in the near future. Highly recommended.

This is a review of House Clearance only. From the very first contact, with Evan visiting the property and assessing the contents, I was really impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of his very efficient review
His good nature and helpful explanations were very reassuring, as was his integrity; he found a gold bracelet at the back of a drawer that we had missed, and handed it to me and suggested it should be valued...it was went for £900...I wouldn't have been any the wiser if he hadn't mentioned it. His valuatios of the house contents have proved accurate at auction. The two colleagues who came later did a very thorough job, leaving the property totally ready for sale.
If you are looking for an efficient, honest and proficient house clearance, and reliably accurate summary of the value of contents, I can't recommend this firm highly enough.

Brought an item of military interest in March which looked good on the photos which were not the most clear but i went off the description given as honest but turned out it was a really bad fake. It had been painted quite recently. First time purchasing from this auction house and also the last. Sometimes its hard to tell on the photos but you put your trust into an auction house especially when they have a militaria specialist supposedly. Paid 95 on the hammer and finished up around 150 with charges and postage. A lot of money wasted on a fake that the auction house would have known was a fake straight away by handling it. And if they cant they are in the wrong job. Too many auction houses happy to rob folk for junk and fakes

Love to give no stars. These ‘experts’ are having a laugh. Don’t know their business. Avoid. Thankfully, I realised that the person I was dealing with was of limited knowledge otherwise I would have lost a considerable amount of money. Selling my items privately. May take longer but, seriously would rather donate to charity than put money in the pockets of cowboys. I’ve read the reviews, the good ones appear to be written by inexperienced novices or those selling late relatives belongs and not familiar with antiques, collectibles or retro

They packed an antique Chinese plate in such a way that it arrived broken. And then the 19-pounds shipment allegedly wasn't even insured. So unprofessional.

Good cataloguing with excellent photography, slick on-line conduct of the auction, most efficient, swift invoicing, safe and secure packaging and lightning despatch through FedEx. I found Auctioneum thoroughly professional, efficient and helpful in every way with helpful charming enquiries staff. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Buyers beware, scam artists, charged £19 to post a item(uninsured) measuring 10cm by 9cm. Postage £3.39 and took over 10 days to arrive, received a parcel from another auction who charged £7.99 for a heavier, bigger insured parcel. Total scammers will never use again. Bidders be aware of East Bristol Auctions as total RIP OFF MERCHANT'S never again will I use these scammers.

Charming during initial negotiations but, I suspect deliberately, slow in payment for auction sales. Mine took forty days from auction date to settlement.
