Poor customer service/claims handling

I returned from holiday to find that my car tyre had lost air. AutoAid refused to assist by towing us and only connected me with a seriously(!) overpriced tyre fitter as I didn’t have a spare tire (not provided with my brand/type of car) or a tyre repair kit.
However, the fault was with the actual wheel not the tyre as my garage later confirmed, hence another tyre or a tire repair kit would have been of no use.
Despite informing AutoAid accordingly, I am still waiting for AutoAid to apologise for leaving our family stranded in this manner and issue an appropriate goodwill gesture.

pretty rubbish, need wifi to report as live talk dont work

Hi had the unfortunate experience of a duff battery and the more unfortunate experience of contacting AUTOAID for assistance. Fortunately the car started after a wait so I cancelled it. I was left a message by the recovery guy who said my policy was not longer valid. I do have a valid policy, I just gave an old registered address in error.
I clicked on the link sent, which I was informed was the 'easiest' way of making a request, only to have to fill in a very lengthy form with all my details blah blah blah. That was only after a kindly man let me piggy back on his wifi so I could fill in the form, not having a signal. I then attempted to contact a living person only to be told several times, 'I had made no selection'. On the whole the experience was pretty awful, only saved by the car starting.

Mixed Feelings

Mixed feelings from me.
When I needed help, they were very ok, attending twice within two hours, and transporting me and my car home.

I did however have to pay £25 up front as my car is quite elderly.

By mistake I didn't cancel auto-renewal, tried to call them on renewal date. It was the weekend, so had to wait until the Monday. My mistake cost me another £25 (refund less admin fee).

I'm with RAC now through car insurance (it was cheaper too), and shan't return to Autoaid.

Bad experience.

Same problem for me with the auto renewal. No need to repeat what is already written above. Do not go with this company, they are completely lacking in any empathy, their customer service staff are unhelpful and unfriendly. A poor recommendation from Martin Lewis. It might be cheap but you sure get what you pay for.

Auto Aid renewed my policy despite my…

Auto Aid renewed my policy despite my express wishes not to do so. The email address they provided on the renewal notice was inexplicably NOT monitored. Took four attempts to get through on the phone to speak to a Customer Services Agent. Eventually spoke with the fast-speaking KAY, a CSA, who said the firm was have issues with their phone systems (not very reassuring for a breakdown firm) and that I would have to pay £15 cancellation fee plus a further £9 service fee. He refused to let me speak to a manager. He described the call as "not a managerial level call." So, I got very little service for my money. I would avoid this company given the shoddy treatment received today. It is also going to take 3-5 working days for my money to be returned. I feel totally robbed and cheated out of £25. There should be a law again auto renewal of policies.

Auto renew OFF Impossible

Presumably this is the same as Auto aid breakdown, where I have already posted.

The pricing has increased significantly over the years, If your car is older you have to pay £25 up front before they come out which is inconvenient if you dont happen to have your debit/credit cards on you. Most annoyingly and an unacceptable factor is the auto renew button. There is no evidence that the autorenewal is off, as the button remains selectable even after choosing renewal off. This was NOT like this on the old site. Its goodbye from me, I`ve had enough. I`ve been a customer for years.

I would have given zero stars if I could. Don’t sign up with this company. They auto renew even when you pay the one off annual lump sum. I didn’t receive any email at all to tho effect. They then charge you 15.00 admin and 9.00 fee?!?!?)!.. I cancelled on the day it auto-renewed and despite that they charge you.. what the 9.00 is for in addition to the admin fee is beyond me. Just a rip off

When trying to cancel autorenwal of my…

When trying to cancel autorenwal of my policy with them they seem to make this difficult. I sent an email requesting this to be cancelled, which received an auto reply with FAQ's one of which was cancel auto renewal. You need to provide policy details which I provided correctly (copy and paste) to log in but the site would not allow access after trying all ways for some time. Then using the same details to download docs it worked perfectly which is rather odd! I then called and cancelled the autorenew and they said that its done but they wouldn't be able to confirm via email and that I would still receive a renewal notice? Not ideal in my view and very poor service. I wont be back.
