Avoid. They will make up damage after you return the car

The time it took the person at the hire desk to process each customer was so slow. From getting through security to finding a queue of 5 people for the desk already annoyed, and finally being given the car keys took nearly 2 hours. No apology or urgency from the lady at the desk. We got to the car close to midnight, and found that it had not been cleaned. It was smelly and dirty throughout. Having waited nearly 2 hours, and with another 3 people behind me in the queue, there was no chance whatsoever that the lady was going to come and inspect the car with me. Unacceptable.
When I brought the car back, there was a person in the car park to give the keys back to. I handed her the keys and took my flight. A week later, and email arrives telling me I had caused damage and I will be charged €230 to my card. The photos that were taken were unclear and I could see no damage. I most certainly did not cause the damage, and it certainly did not happen whilst on my hire. I replied to the email.... no reply. Unacceptable.
A weel later and another email came from a different email address telling me that the €230 had been charged to my card. I replied to that email explaining there has been a mistake. No reply.
Unacceptable.
I will never use this bunch of cowboys again. They are a disgusting company who don't check the car with the person hiring, and then make up some damage. They refuse to answer emails or to offer form of correspondence other than what they are charging. They couldn't care less about the people waiting for 2 hours in the queue. Never ever again.
Avoid this company. They should be shut down

we are sincerely sorry to read about your experience at our Pescara Airport branch. We understand the inconvenience caused by the waiting time at the desk, the condition of the vehicle at pick-up and the subsequent communication regarding the alleged damage.

We apologise if the service you received was not perceived as attentive and timely. Vehicle handover should always be handled clearly and, where any non-compliant condition is found, the customer must be able to report it before using the car.

Regarding damages, Autovia carries out documented checks upon return and, when differences are found compared with the vehicle’s recorded condition at pick-up, the customer is informed with the relevant documentation. However, we understand your concern about the clarity of the photos and the lack of response to your emails: this is an important point that requires further review.

We kindly ask you to contact customercare@autovia.it with your booking or rental agreement number, so that the case, the images and the previous communications can be checked in detail.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!!!!

Extremely DISAPPOINTING experience with this provider. Have been renting for the last 20+ years with different companies and never had such an awful, terrible, very bad experience. Although is written they accept credit card only (I would like to point out that I have always used debit card before and never had any issues at all) they force you to buy at the desk the insurance for using the debit card (after you have already paid online for your rental). WATCH OUT...THESE ARE SCAMMERS AND CHARGE EXTRA MONEY!!! You try to explain the situation to their stuff and in a robotic way they answer back "ah this is the procedure"... Hopeless and useless .... But that's not the only thing. The car was also in EXTREMELY POOR CONDITION. Literally not cleaned inside, with stains on the chairs and literally with a huge hole in the mat and with so many miles, something they should not rent. Something you wouldn't expect for the price they charge as the car should be newer and other companies don't have such old vehicles in their fleet. They deserve to go bust!

we firmly reject the accusations contained in your review. Accepted payment methods and rental requirements are clearly stated in the terms and conditions. As with any rental company, Autovia defines which forms of guarantee are accepted.

When a payment method does not meet the required criteria, an additional coverage may be offered – but not imposed – to reduce or eliminate the security deposit. This is an alternative solution, not an obligation.

Regarding the vehicle condition, all cars are checked before delivery. Any issue should be reported at the time of pick-up so it can be addressed immediately.

All lies why don't you show customers…

All lies why don't you show customers the original car give? And after? Show them the before and after pictures and they will judge Autovia if you're company is serious or not. Trust me if I am wrong I put my hands up and take the blame but in this case your wrong

Imaginary GPS

I booked rental of a car with GPS, with AutoVia, using booking.com, and paid for the basic rental
online at that time. When I arrived to pick up the car, I paid, as expected, an additional sum for GPS. Then I was given the paperwork and keys for a vehicle in the lot, which I subsequently found, on inspection, had no GPS. There were no other vehicles available in the same size range with GPS, so I agreed to accept the first vehicle, provided the GPS charge was cancelled or refunded.
Despite repeated verbal promises to do so by AutoVia counter staff, it was not cancelled, and there has been no refund. Attempts to reach Autovia, on this matter, have been totally ignored. Phone calls were not answered and at least one of the ignored emails, per tracking, was deleted without being read. 1.5 months have passed, and STILL unable to receive any receive any response from AutoVia, let alone compensation for this invalid charge.

The Worst Car Rental Experience – I Strongly Advise Against Autovia Pescara

We booked a car online with Autovia Pescara. During the booking process, we used my wife’s debit card, which the system mistakenly recognized as a credit card, and around €272 was charged immediately.

When we arrived at the office at 12:30 PM, we were told we couldn’t pick up the car because the office was closed. We had to wait until 4:00 PM. When we finally returned, they refused to give us the car because we didn’t have a credit card, only a debit card.

We requested a refund of the amount paid for the booking, but it was denied. So: no car and no money.

Compared to Germany, a terrible experience. There, we had no issues renting a car with a debit card, received the return receipt immediately, and the €300 deposit was refunded the same day.

Autovia Pescara – unreliable service, no flexibility, and unfair treatment of customers.
I absolutely do not recommend it!

La peggiore esperienza di noleggio auto – sconsiglio vivamente Autovia Pescara

Abbiamo prenotato un’auto online con Autovia Pescara. Durante la prenotazione è stata utilizzata la carta di debito di mia moglie, che il sistema ha erroneamente riconosciuto come carta di credito, e sono stati subito addebitati circa 272 euro.

Arrivati all’ufficio alle 12:30, ci è stato detto che non era possibile ritirare l’auto perché l’ufficio era chiuso. Abbiamo dovuto aspettare fino alle 16:00. Quando finalmente siamo tornati, ci hanno rifiutato il veicolo perché non avevamo una carta di credito, solo una di debito.

Abbiamo chiesto il rimborso dell’importo pagato per la prenotazione, ma ci è stato negato. Quindi: niente macchina e niente soldi.

Rispetto alla Germania, un’esperienza pessima. Lì abbiamo noleggiato senza problemi con carta di debito, ricevuto subito la ricevuta di riconsegna e il deposito di 300 euro è stato restituito lo stesso giorno.

Autovia Pescara – servizio inaffidabile, nessuna flessibilità, atteggiamento scorretto verso i clienti.
Sconsiglio assolutamente!

La necessità di presentare una carta di credito intestata al conducente principale non dipende dal sistema di prenotazione, né è una scelta della filiale: è una regola chiaramente indicata nelle condizioni di noleggio, visibili al momento della prenotazione.

La carta di credito non serve per il pagamento del noleggio, ma per il blocco del deposito cauzionale, come da prassi internazionale nel settore.

La invitiamo a verificare personalmente le condizioni indicate e, se troverà che l’informazione è chiara e visibile, la invitiamo a valutare la possibilità di modificare o rimuovere la sua recensione.

when i picked up the car the tank was not full

when i picked up the car it was not fully tanked
and i rented it by rentalcars, took allso an insurance and when i picked up the car they told me that that insurance is not the richt one

The auto via is the worst car hire…

The auto via is the worst car hire company that i ever come a cross. They gave me car half tank full. I took a pic. On my return i gave them full tank and i have copy of my receipt. They charged me the petrol and when i question them they said the tank was not full. I provide them the proof that althogh i didnt have it full but i returned full. Since 28 th march until now 21 st may i sent them email and call but they dont give a prompt reply. They are a coward - thats only i can tell about this company -

I have used Autovia on a number of…

I have used Autovia on a number of occasions for car rentals. We even rented for four months when we first moved to Italy. When asked, I send friends and others to Autovia where I know they will be able to speak with someone in English and I know they will be treated well. It's the only agency I'll use.

Lower fuel costs with Ecovia.

We were given a self charging hybrid Panda from Ecovia. This almost halved the fuel cost for the week we used it. The car was clean, comfortable and easy to drive, if a little underpowered. The desk service was efficient and courteous.
