I recently rented a car from Avax, picking up in Rijeka and dropping off in Split. The pick up and drop off process was very smooth and efficient - and they were very helpful when we wanted to drop the car back earlier than our original slot. The car was in good condition and we were given a free upgrade to a slightly bigger car on arrival. All in all, I found they were very easy to deal with and would recommend them to anyone looking to rent a car in Croatia!

Renting the car on the island of Korcula is quite a bit more expensive than on the Croatian Mainland.
Service by the Avax Representative in Vela Luka was just perfect. Very friendly, competent, receiving us upon arrival right at the ferry terminal. Super!

We booked a vehicle, pickup Pula, drop-off Split, Croatia.
Pula: manager late (with car) for 30 minutes, then it took him 45mins tapping keys and staring at computer screen. Then finally ready to sign and pay, eftpos machine hadn't been initilised properly, he used 3 of my credit cards, all three failed pin test, i told him the machine needs initialised, he was having none of that.. just muttering to his helper in Croatian, anyway, we used manual mode to get on the way (we also continued to use these three cards all day without any issues ;)).
Anyway, car looked ok and didnt mind the empty water bottles under seats, and someones cosmetics in the rear seat? But NO FUEL. Assistant manager says, youbtake empty and bring back empty, no problem. We were driving 500km between Pula and Split, how do you accutately brong back empty? So we drove away from Avax CDC ar rental in Pula, the fuel light came on, so this is a good time to waste a another 20mins looking for fuel station in foreign city. Dropoff in Split went well, very helpful manager met me 500 mtrs from dropoff, cause of heavy traffic, he say car should have 1/8th tank, we were empty and I shiwed him a picture of the fuel gauge at puckup, "all good" he says. He also said the insurance excess refund will be credited by old mate in Pula, pardon!

We hired a car from Split airport for 1 week at the end of August. They have recently re-located to new offices which is virtually next door to the airport now. We were picked up from airport and taken to the office which took just minutes. The lady who dealt with us (so sorry, forgot your name) looked over and appraised the car with us to note any damage etc before we left. This was all done efficiently and quickly and we were on our way to our final destination in no time.

The car perhaps could have done with a bit of a clean as I don't think it had been cleaned since the last user, but that didn't put us off as the customer service we received was excellent. They were always at the end of the phone if we had any problems.

When we returned the car it was all checked over again very efficiently, and all okay so was given a lift back to the airport.

It was a hassle free car rental experience and we would definitely recommend Avax Rent a Car. We loved Croatia so no doubt will be back soon to visit and to hire a car from yourselves. We wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Great car hire service- made simple!
Was originally going to hire a Suzuki swift but was upgraded to a ultra modern tech filled Suzuki Ignis free of charge!

Hvrajo was excellent- explained the whole process and was very good at making sure we understood, as this was our first car hire experience.

Very good value for money and car was in top condition.

Overall a very good experience with and will highly recommend to anyone visting Dubrovnik or Split, Hvrajo and his team will look after you.

Very easy car rental. The pick up and return were speedy and efficient.

Horrendously overcharged for scratches without any deformity. If only I could post the pictures. For a 3" scuff mark on one rim (no textural damage) they charge 170euro - that's a whole new rim!

I worked for Budget Car Rental for 5 years and know all the ins and out - absolute this is a rip-off. They first told me it was going to be 700euro after they took a picture and sent it to their "boss," then after I showed 3 waiting customers, the agent re-quoted at 600 euro. Needless to say the other soon to be customers we're questioning AVAX ethics.

BTW, my insurance company will cover this 100% I have no skin in the game just reporting what was truly unacceptable charging practices.

Apart from that, the agent was friendly and reasonably efficient and the car was in good shape.

I 100% accept responsibility and I have insurance that will pay for the damage - this is not the point. The point is, AVAX charged 600euro (originally 700euro until the agent via pictures reviewed the damages again) for a 200-300euro fix. The car will be in the shop for 2 days (max for the paint) and the rate I rented was 39 euros per day. How does a 2"-3" superficial, no depth scratch incur 170 euros REPLACEMENT price? Your transparency would be much appreciated.

Everything was perfect, frane brought the car from his agency at sibenik to vodice in time. The car was excellent except some little damages on it that were by the way notiiced before I took the car. To return the car back, it was a litlle bit complicated and done as the last minute as I had to to return it in sibenik at night instead of vodice in the afternoon. Globally I'm satisfy by Avax Rent a car Sibenik and I would recommend it

Rented in Split. Nice new Suzuki swift. Good price and importantly no extra charge for cross border use. We took car to Bosnia and Montenegro wihout issues.

We rented a car with Avax in July 2018 out of Zadar. Very straight talking and clear. Service was reliable and at a fair price, which is rare in Croatia. No problem with recommending this company for anyone who is traveling. Good company to deal with.

We rented a car at split airport. We chose to go without the full insuranse (70eur), witch later turned out to be a misstake. When returning the car the staff found some minor scratches on the rear door, witch must have occurred when the car was parked. I thought ok, that will buff out (I am in the car service buissiness) but they charged me 1850kn (220 eur) for it. With the reason that they do all their service at Suzuki and they will probably charge them more. But looking at the other rentals they have on the yard, i know that they won't even bother with those scratches.

No problems or delays at Pick up or Drop off, efficient helpful staff, I would highly recommend this company.

I am always a little worried when booking hire cars.. you never know what you will be getting when you pick up the car. But this time - it was fantastic! I booked everything online, sent communication emails prior to my arrival in Split to make sure everything I ordered was well - booked. I always receive quick replies... which was reassuring. The pick up was easy, they requested the normal papers and I was handed A BRAND NEW CAR :-) only 730km at the clock with all amenities and gadgets on board. I only booked a normal car so really wasn't expecting much :-) Dropping the car off took literally 5mns. No issue at all. Definitely recommends using Avax Rent a Car in Split!!
