Hallo,

Hello,
I have a complaint and I would like to get part of my money back. Because of our flight, I wasn’t sure when we would arrive. I thought we might arrive at the car rental after closing time, but we were lucky and got there at 20:30. I was at the Avia counter around that time, but there was another customer ahead of me. This took a while, but it's clearly visible in the system when all the documents were created (I even have proof — all Avia documents are timestamped around 21:06. I can tell you it takes much longer than 6 minutes to generate those documents).
Still, I had to pay €50 for no reason, and they refused to refund it.
Upon arrival, I presented my voucher with all the details, including insurance, but the rental company said the car was not insured and that they did not recognize the insurance provided through Discovercars.com, which is obviously ridiculous. As a result, I had to pay an additional €241.92 (excluding tax). I had no choice but to pay this, otherwise we would have been stranded at the airport in the evening with a small child.
After making the payment, I contacted the intermediary (Discovercars.com), and they confirmed that the car was indeed insured (this was also clearly stated on the voucher). I have now paid a total of €281.92, excluding tax.
All Avia does is hide behind rules and signatures that you are forced to give, otherwise you simply can't move forward.
I hope you understand that I would like this amount refunded.

Disgusted to find at the pick up desk, that a fully acceptable credit card could not be used to secure the damage deposit
A CON !!!!!!!!!!
Then to add insult, you are conning people with the threat of additional cleaning of 12euro
AND also your staff in country, ultra rude
Further Comment
Firstly, a valid card was presented, eventually a debit card was used
The way your staff member described the cleaning charge, was clearly a threat
And IT WAS YOUR STAFF MEMBER WHO WAS RUDE, NOT US !!!!!!!!
Clearly your staff are in need of some urgent re-training

Fast, friendly efficient service. Car pickup a very short walk from airport and well sign posted. Great quality car and easy drop off.

Dear fellow Tourist,
Avoid this company. They'll sell you overpriced insurance that's useless. A deductible of a whopping €500. When you pick up the car, they'll do everything they can to appear nonchalant. They'll laugh off all sorts of little blemishes and scratches. They'll say they're part of the deal. Within 30 seconds, you'll get the keys and have to leave. Returning the car is a completely different story. They'll seriously examine the car with a magnifying glass.
You guessed it. Now the blemishes and scratches are a problem. A whopping €220 for two spots they claim were my fault. My request for proof that these spots weren't there received no response other than the response that it was a new car. Everything is new at first, people, that's not a good argument. Of course, it's not possible to get an invoice from a body shop.
What a shame that they've implemented this as a business practice. In the meantime, we have made initial contact with the local police to report fraud.

Service was quick and convenient. The car was almost new and just the right size. The only reason why I didn't give five points is that while getting the keys at the company office in the airport terminal I was asked for a deposit of 1100 euros, although the amount of 900 euros was indicated on the website at the time of booking. But it was good that they returned the deposit on the fourth day after returning the car back, which is very fast.

I do not recommend renting a car at Avia! At Avia you have to watch out for additional costs. They charge extra for example for cleaning (9 euro) and early check-out (approximatly 80 euro). Moreover, our tank was only half full when we arrived at check-out. The employee of Avia said we could either pay 90 euro as a fine or go to the gas station. It turned out that every gas station was closed which almost led to us missing our flight. Never again!

From the check in to the check out everything was perfect. The expereince with the car had been excelent and the people who treated with us was professional and helpful.

We had a mostly positive experience with this car rental company. The pricing was competitive, the vehicle itself was in great condition, and the delivery service in Split was prompt and efficient.
However, the pickup process in Dubrovnik left a lot to be desired—there was a long wait, no seating available, and the entire process was quite slow.
Additionally, we were surprised by a few extra charges. We were billed for car cleaning upon return, this should typically be included in the rental price if the car is returned in a reasonable condition. More unexpectedly, there was a hefty €40 charge simply for taking the car on a ferry to the islands. While this might be a common practice among Croatian rental companies, it wasn’t clearly communicated in advance and felt excessive, especially since island visits are a common part of traveling in Croatia.
Despite these issues, the overall experience was good and the car served us well throughout the trip.

On top of the rental price came a lot of add on costs (extra cost for an extra driver, extra costs for driving outside Croatia, extra cost for taking a ferry, ...) resulting in almost double the "announced" price. Also when bringing the car back, a minor scratch on one of the wheels was taken into account for more than 300 euro damage, which is totally over-rated.

Our flight was delayed resulting in us collecting the car an hour later. We were charged a EUR50 penalty for out of hours collection even though it was not our fault. When collecting the car your staff member gave us a terrible baby seat and said there were no other baby seats available. I kept saying we can’t use the one he wanted to give us. Eventually he gave me a different one but refused to help putting the baby seat in the car. The staff member couldn’t care less about helping us.

The criteria for reviewing car damage seem excessive to me. They're asking for aspects that are impossible to review upon delivery, such as damage smaller than a millimeter on the underbody of the vehicle.
Good value for money

Before I took the car, the attitude was pleasant and nice, and I paid additional coverage in case of accidents in order to limit the participation amount to 750 euros in the event of an accident. Unfortunately, when I returned the car, I saw that the sums did not meet and I paid 2000 euros in an accident, but only 750 euros. And besides, you paid more than 750 euros, you also paid an additional 146 euros for nothing.

It's outrageous! We've never had any trouble before, but this agency charges an extra €200 in fees and forces you to take their insurance because they’re unable to place the deposit on a credit card.
We’ve traveled all around the world and have never encountered such bad faith anywhere else!
Avoid using their services.
One thing to add: your responses to all these negative comments only reinforce the bad image you're giving of your services.
You're very strict about the rules, sure, but that's not the kind of business attitude tourists are looking for.

We got a good, clean car. They were very friendly and fair to us.

Staff were helpful but tried to upsell us at the airport after we had already booked and paid for everything through discover card. Ended up costing us an extra £200. Also when dropping off we had to wait 20 mins for a member of staff to show up.
