Car itself had no problem at all.What I found very unfair and tricky is that the company keep adding extra charges unreasonably interpreting that everything is part of their T&Cs.
Firstly, I was charged 50 euros for picking up my car after 9pm. The truth is my flight was delayed for around 1 hour and landed at 8:44pm then it took me around 15 mins to collect luggage and pass the long queued passport check. I arrived at the desk at 9pm and it took me another 15 mins due to waiting for another customer to be processed.
None of these was actually my fault and the company knows very well how to put the customer under pressure at that time of the night.
Secondly, on my return, again I was charged 12 euros for cleaning fee which was absolutely irrelevant. They should already accept a little of dust on the car as we use the car and do not paper wrap the car and leave in the garage. I am sure that the company have already accounted the cleaning cost into the rental price as this is a simple formula to calculate the final price for goods and services.
As a result the process was disgraceful and very shady.

Renting a car at Zadar Airport was by far the best car rental experience I've had.
The team at the desk was friendly, pleasant, and highly professional. We had a nice chat before being shown to our car, with all potential issues clearly marked and explained. They even encouraged us to take photos of the vehicle for our own peace of mind.
Returning the car was just as smooth and pleasant—quick, easy, and with no hidden charges or suspicious tactics that some rental companies are known for. I highly recommend them!

Nice car and helpful staff but I feel my experience was marred by money grabbing policy. Was charged a 12€ cleaning fee because the car had been caught in the rain so was “dirty” even though everything else was spotless. I would’ve totally understood if there had been food, stains or dirt in the car but something that will be easily be cleaned with some water sounds absurd to me. Even more so when you’ve already paid a lot for the renting itself.

Catastrophic rental: under the pretext that I had a Visa Gold with immediate debit and not deferred debit, AVIA forced us to take out the full insurance policy with no excess, with an additional €175 to pay.
I've never had this problem, even abroad, when leaving deposits on my Visa Gold, so I plan to ask Visa what's going on.
AVIA also made us pay €12 to wash the vehicle, otherwise we should have done it before returning it!
I don't intend to leave it at that with AVIA and I will write to the company's headquarters to report this abuse.
I will never rent with AVIA again, and other people at the airport ahead of us had the same problems with this immediate debit card issue.

Avia. Split airport
When i tried to collect the car they wouldn't accept 2 of my credit cards - one for Anna bank and one with Chase. ( never had a problem anywhere before using these cards and I travel a lot) So i had to use a debit card as a deposit but they insisted that i take out full insurance for this which was 350 euros for 10 days! Nearly as much as the rental.
It felt like i was being ripped off, but they had me in a corner and I had to get the car.
Wont be using Avia again.

Car was new, worked perfectly, agents were quick, no negative comments on those. The only thing that needs to be improved is that it is really difficult to reach the office by phone, they do not answer often at all, in case you would need their help with something. There should be a line for urgent situations, if you need their help.

Can be improved the description of the coverage of the damages to the costumers and to takes a lot of photos how is delivered the car when you receive it and after when you give it back.

When I was hiring at the airport there were 2 very unhappy customers returning cars because they were being charged for cleaning, so I decided to pay in advance to avoid any unnecessary delays upon return. When I returned they charged me €150 for cleaning, additional €13 for diesel as I didn't refill at the station around the corner and €37 service charge for filling the €13 of diesel! They said the car had to be sent away for 5 days for chemical cleaning due to a damp stain on the seat. Everything in Croatia was fantastic except this scamming car hire company. The staff were so well rehearsed...professional scam artists....

Very bad experience with this company
they charged me 30€ because I took the car at 5PM rather than 12AM and when I requested to modify the return hour they charged me additional 80 euros. In addition they charged me 125 euros because I will go in Montenegro, it is not clearly indicated in their documentation when I made the reservation. To finish the car had a lot of chocks and the personal when I took the car were not firendly

The car was very good it was in very good condition and work very well.
The down side is that at the reception they charged me around 120 euros for delivering it back att a different destination. I had already declared that when I reserved the car. Every single other time I have done this the price of giving it back a a different location is added to your quote. So I did not expect to pa an extra 120 euros, this is a little cheeky on AVIAs side. They also asked me if I wanted to pay for in advance to wash a dirty car. Every other time I rented a car that means a dirty car not rain specs on the car. Cheeky again. When I turned the car back they said there was damage on the car. I said it was just a spec and could be wiped off. The attendant actually got a rag and wiped it off! Then charged me 12 euros because the car was returned dirty. I should have taken a photo! I don’t think I’ll be renting from them again. Very sly business model.

We'd already taken out extended insurance protection elsewhere but she tried to insist we take the same cover from her. I had to decline 3 times. She also pushed several other add-ons, which I kept declining. It became a bit of an argument before she was prepared to move on with the paperwork processing and release the car to us.

No debit card accepted for the deposit first time in many rental car trough the years, so i was obligated to pay 300 more euros for something like cleaning fees and petrol when they weren’t necessary at all, obligated to do another Insurance and feary fees… ridiculous, the car was ok !

Fast pick up and drop off. But smaller car than expected. Always take pictures of the car on pick up and drop off. All sides and also under the front and back spoilers! Doing this gives you evidence if there is an argument. I did not encounter any problems with the AVIA staff.

Took a long time to deliver the car when we arrived at Pula Airpor. Got a nice car. Went over the car quickly at the Airport. also stood in a long queue when delivering the car, when you have to catch a plane! other companies spend 5 minutes on this. with AVIA it took over 30 minutes. upon delivery AVIA found a tiny scratch above the wheel arch. this small scratch can easily be fixed by polishing the car which you have to do regularly anyway. they charged 288 EUR for this. Go clear of this company. this is robbery.
