Lies and dishonesty. Avoid

It's appalling how they resorted to lies and dishonesty. They changed the policy and refused to provide recordings of conversations. They cheated an 80-year-old lady. Luckily, she didn’t have to file a claim.

They label all of Togher, Cork as a subsidence area.

Mesmerisingly bad. Insure your car with literally anyone else.

Amazed to read all the terrible reviews about claims from people who managed to hold a policy long enough to make one - I couldn't even get past the hurdle of providing them with all the documents they initially requested, before they started threatening to cancel my policy - 3 times. They wanted documents from 2 separate previous insurers, both big names in the industry, neither of whom were able to supply the evidence they wanted. Forwarded the documents they did provide for simple stuff (no claims bonus etc), each and every one rejected - not with an email telling me, but with a letter in the post threatening cancellation after days and weeks of no contact at all. They don't reply to emails, you can't get through on the customer service number to complain, so you leave a message as requested - no call back or reply. Finally gave up today and cancelled the policy after taking out a new policy with a competitor who wanted half the documents AXA demanded, and who my wife had already switched to when she had exactly the same issues with Axa. Just an astonishingly inept and incompetent business. 1.7 stars on trustpilot is both richly deserved and also 1.7 too many.

I must greatly commend the lads at the AXA office on Merchants Quay in Waterford. My sister and I were having great difficulties entering our mini because the key was not working, and those lads saved the day. I think their names were Erin and Eamon. I am now back in Connecticut, USA, but I will not forget their kindness and support.

If I could leave a minus 5 star rating

If I could leave a minus 5 star rating, it wouldn't describe how bad this company are. Cancelled my policy without notice because they changed their auto renew policy and didn't tell anyone.

Unfriendly customer service

Unfriendly customer service. Called to ask about Direct debit date change. Lady was rude and would not listen to the question.
I have been with AXA for 4 years and not once had a simple query answered with a friendly tone. Please look into this. Cork office

AXA follow up on a claim either making a new or following up on an existing is nothing short of the slowest, most incompetent service I have experienced in Ireland.
I would not recommend doing business with this company if you have a more competitive alternative available to you

Please avoid! NO SERVICE

I have been trying to have a claim sorted, just basically trying to get the go ahead whether the car should be scrapped or fixed. When I try phoning I have to hold the line for 30 min before someone answers and then just to be told that no one is available and will be phoned back...as if. I have tried emailing...no response. So so fed up with this. Will not renew my policy with them and will not recommend them to anyone!!! Would give a 0 STAR if possible.

Avoid if possible

My wife's car was flooded and is a write off, after 3 months Axa hasn't even sent an assesor, assigned a claim handler or returned emails or phonecalls. Still waiting and going through complaints procedure. Shocking that they are allowed to operate like this.

Refusing to engage with BI claim.

I have a business interruption claim with AXA and they are simply refusing to engage, they made one offer but are choosing to respond now months after and are refusing to respond to formal complaints about the matter. Insurance companies are great at taking your premium but when it comes to a claim they do as they please. I have made a formal complaint to the financial ombudsman who are currently reviewing my case but it is ridiculous that a regulated company can act in this way.

If you pay peanuts you get Mxxkxxs

If you pay peanuts you get Mxxkxxs

submitted a claim to these people in January, yes they were cheaper than all other insurance companies, and I see why, terrible customer service in the claims dept, nearly bordering on bullying, this is from their call centre in Derry, other departments are ok, but then again it pays to be nice when your taking money off a customer, but when you have to pay out thats a different matter entirely, claim was closed, without my knowledge, and everything put down to wear and tear, be warned they are very difficult to deal with, in the end I wouldn't take any phone calls from them- I wish I had checked trustpilot before I paid them, next time around i'll pay the extra €80 for a decent insurance company.
