Good product but awful customer service

I ordered some personalised cuff links and a tie clip from this website on 28th January. Having not used this website before and since I had not received my order, I tried to contact the company on 6th February (as my order was supposed to arrive within 5 working days), I emailed them twice, tried calling and also left a message on their Instagram page. I received no response at all.

My order thankfully did arrive on 13th February and although it was late, I did actually really like the product.

I got an automated review email earlier today from Reviews.io and I decided to leave a review since the customer communication had been really bad and as this was the first time I was unable to contact a company that I had ordered from. Within moments of leaving the review, I received an email from Badger and Brown saying that they did not receive any emails from me and that they have not been answering calls due to the valentines rush. They asked for my review to be revised for a 20% refund (they specifically asked for the review to be changed to 5 stars and for a positive comment). I was quite shocked by this as it defeats the whole point of leaving honest reviews.

Since I was told that my emails hadn’t been received, I forwarded them again to Badger and Brown. I received a response immediately this time but it was unfortunately quite an unfriendly response. This is what the email reply said: ‘Well done for proving a point. Perhaps they went into our junk folder, who knows. We did not see them.’

I am always more than happy to support small businesses and I actually liked the product I received but it’s just such a shame about the lack of communication and when I did show that I have been emailing, the response was not polite.

It’s a shame that I can’t recommend this website and will definitely not be using it again.

Fantastic service

If I'm honest, I nearly did not place an order after reading some reviews, but I'm so glad I did. This was a gift of engraved cufflinks for a special birthday. The cufflinks were great quality and presented beautifully. The engraving was also exactly as ordered, and I received the cufflinks back within a couple of days. Would definitely purchase from here again and would recommend to others.

Great product and company

Great product and company!
Not sure about all the negative reviews, but there was a problem with my personalised image on my original order, and Chris was very helpful in sorting it quickly.
My order has now arrived and we are very happy with the cufflinks.

A positive experience

Needed 30 bespoke engraved cufflink and engraved display box sets for a 50th Anniversary function. Was not put off by some of the recent reviews, reasoning that these revolved around issues outside of the company’s control such as post strikes, Christmas, and international deliveries. Moreover some 86% of the reviews (on Trustpilot) were 5 star, and 8% 4 star. My confidence was rewarded as the 30 sets arrived in just over a week, exactly as specified, and looking very good for the very reasonable price. My experience in communications with the principal, Chris Lee, was entirely positive. Chris couldn’t have been more professional and commercial in his approach to this customer. Respect should always be two-way!

The most rudness unprofessional Company

Well wish I would have read all these reviews before I spent my money in this firm my experience of rudness unprofessional service is the same as others clearly we can't all be wrong. Their tone and unwillingness to never once accept responsibility for either their lack of respect for those who are supporting their business or how they correspond to theirs if there is a issue.

I would not recommend this company they take peoples money then deliver the poorest service please avoid at all costs

At no point were we rude. Our email responses were matching of those received.

You kindly ordered engraved cufflinks but you did so after the cut off point for same say dispatch. We dispatched them the next day and they arrived the day after.

This was too late for your short notice gift purchase and you wanted to return them. The cufflinks were engraved so therefore non refundable. You didn't take too kindly to this.

We have to have measures in place to protect our business.

We really have done nothing wrong here and have acted professionally in every sense. There are some scenarios where the customer cannot always be right, especially when selling personalised products.

SMALL COMPANY, HIGH QUALITY! RECOMMEND!!

I would firstly like to start off with publicly sending my appreciation for this small company. It is evidently clear that this small company has had an influx in high demand over the festive period, partner this with national postage strikes and they have resulted in bombardment of self entitled people demanding. However…

I have just received my item ordered, which was delayed due to Royal Mail (as outlined by the company) and I am absolutely over the moon with the quality of this product! HIGHLY RECOMMEND and will definitely use again.

Take your attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine, you ignorant fool. As with ALL internet businesses - WE do not deliver the items, that’s not how it works.
Take a look at the news. Post, nurses, ambulances....... the whole country is in a mess

If you wanted a 110% guarantee you should have gone to the shops!

Blame us all you like. Return the item when received, as previously instructed.

The postal strikes caused absolute mayhem and as a business owner it was horrendous. I worked 16/17 hours everyday for nearly 30 days, I worked myself sick.

I was trying to be clam and collective throughout but hands up, there were a few customers I lost it with and this lady was one of them.

We're an online business and we did everything correctly our end. My staff and I worked tirelessly hard and we always give 110%. Most people understood that if ordering within a postal strike there could be severe delays and it's not the businesses fault, others like this lady blamed us and was extremely rude and offensive. As was I in this reply above, for which I now regret. I wish I hadn't have bitten in such a way, but it is hard when you care so much.

Product fine but..

I will start by saying the product itself I don't really have an issue with, its fine.

However, when you are paying for a service, I strongly believe that you are not just buying the product. You are paying for communication and quality customer service and quite frankly I did not receive that from this business.

I asked for my tracking number so that I could keep an eye on my parcel (I work for a courier company so had the means to do so) and whilst we were eventually able to locate the parcel through the barcode as opposed to the tracking information asked for, I cannot excuse the inconsistent dates of dispatch advised (4 days apart), and utterly unprofessional responses from the customer support (I will not name names to protect their identity, I hope this is a learning curb for them that there are ways to address people when clearly under stress in a polite and professional manner).

Working in customer service myself, 'please' and 'thank you' go a very long way when liaising with customers, blaming and alienating does not.

I also paid for 1-2 working day delivery. Omitting weekends and the strike days it took 4 working days to arrive, you could put it down to peak christmas period, however the person I spoke to said that engraving takes more time anyway. So those wanting to add a 'personal touch' - just go for standard delivery.

As I said before, the products I purchased from this company are fine and I hope my boyfriend will like them.

However due to the service, I think I shall heed the advice of the person I spoke to and shop on the High Street (or maybe amazon) for my next purchase.

To receive the order within 4 days during a postal strike seems reasonable to me.

I ordered cufflinks for my husband to…

I ordered cufflinks for my husband to be in July 2021 and the engraving was very poor quality. They got in touch and said they would sort it if I removed my feedback, which I did. Needless to say they NEVER got back in touch. Shocking service. Would not recommend to anyone.

Charged money on website and dodnot proceed order. After I enquired what's wrong and provided order number, they gave me random date and some random false information. When I told about the mess they've created the reply was: "What kind of mess?? A real big mess tbh!!! These strikes and people ordering all early has caused a real nightmare. A living hell.
I don’t like your aggressive attitude, please don’t speak to companies like this, you wouldn’t speak to friends and family like it.
The email to you was sent by mistake.
The order you placed yesterday didn’t go through and tbh I don’t really want your business. Go shop elsewhere. "

So only after my 2 e-mails they finally in an extremely rude way told that my order did not get through. And did not return any money back!

P.S. And this man is even lying in the review reply. I have e-mails that can prove that (1) order actually went through, o have confirmation (2) e-mail from the man himself that he was trying to say that he doesn't have my money, but eventually agreed to refund (3) bank statements with payment and refund.
And now this man is trying to accuse me in lying in my review. Though he is lying himself. And if there was an option to attach files to review, I would be able to prove it!
P.P.S. And yes, this is an edited reply from him. The first one was containing abuse as well. Now he edited it!

No money was ever taken from this customer and there never was an order placed, the transaction did not go through.

Customised cufflinks

This is my second purchase of personalised cufflinks this year. The first for my daughter's graduation, which she loved. My second purchase is a Christmas present. This time I opted for a customised photo of our springer spaniel photoshopped onto a photo of the late Queen's Corronation photo. Probably disrespectful but they made me smile and I'm sure my daughter will find them amusing too.
They've come out much better than I expected and they arrived super quick so thank you Badger and Brown. I will probably be back.
