Buyer Beware – I Will Never Shop Here Again
I’m extremely disappointed with Baltic Born and will never be shopping here again. Be warned: they do not issue refunds under any circumstances — only store credit. This was not made clear at checkout, and it feels intentionally deceptive.
I placed an order expecting a standard return process like any reputable retailer. Only after trying to return the item did I discover the harsh and inflexible return policy buried in the fine print. Had I known upfront that I’d be stuck with store credit, I never would have made the purchase.
Their lack of transparency and customer-first values is a huge red flag. There are too many great companies out there with fair policies and better customer service — save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere.
THEY DON’T OFFER REFUNDS
THEY DON’T OFFER REFUNDS, JUST STORE CREDIT. Their return policy is buried in your account which is hard to get to on your phone since it’s blocked by a coupon popup that’s difficult to ex-out. The color of the “return policy” link is an extremely light shade of pink on a cream colored background. Very shady tactics that manipulate customers to overlook details and forget smart consumer practices when purchasing higher priced products. For customers who don’t overlook these things, they make it very challenging to access the information to make educated decisions.
The material of their dresses is frequently low quality, which makes their return policy even more unsettling since it’s an online store and it’s impossible to know the quality of a material until you see it in person. I will never shop here again.
Return Policy is Bad, Dresses are Nice
The dresses I got were nice, but it was not at all obvious that returns for store credit were the only option. I feel a bit cheated and won't buy from this store again.
Buyer beware - returns policy sucks
I was looking for a mother of the bride dress, and after going to my normal go-tos - Nordstrom, Macy's, etc. I decided to try some of the dresses at Baltic Born. They looked good online. My fault for not doing more digging like I normally do. I thought when I bought their "extra" protection policy for $7 it was also for free returns like it stated. Instead I still have to pay for the return package. And who only gives store credit online? How can I check out a dress to see if it will work for what I need? So now I have several hundred $$s in store credit I will have to burn through and hope the items are something I want because I won't be buying with them again once that is done. The dresses were fine. They just didn't fit me or the wedding vibe. Am I supposed to just order one dress at a time and return and try again? Such a wasteful system. Just give full returns like normal online stores.
Misleading and fraudulent practices
Company offers hassle free returns for a an additional fee on products they also claim to be final sales and not eligible for return. Final sale items are not clearly communicated. Additionally, after learning this, I attempted to cancel a second order I had placed two hours earlier and received an AI generated response that it could not be cancelled.
Deceptive Business Practices
Deliberately does not put their return policy front and center. You have to dig for it on the website if you know to look and it is not mentioned at the checkout process.
The quality was severely lacking in the three dresses I ordered. Anytime clothes comes up in a conversation with my family, friends, acquaintances I have and will continue to share what a garbage company Baltic Born is. So far I have personally told over 30 different women why they should avoid this company and they were very appreciative. I will continue telling people what a predatory, garbage company Baltic Born is until the day they close, which can not come soon enough. I hope they get hit with a class action lawsuit.
Beautiful Dress
Beautiful Dress I received many compliments!
Baltic Born has so many beautiful choices!
I will be purchasing again!
Beware return policy and poor quality
The quality of their clothing is very lacking and the return policy is very misleading. Advertising "free returns" but only for store credit is confusing especially when they offer an additional fee that supposedly is used for returns and shipping protection. Perhaps if the clothing was higher quality I would see how they could not accept returns, but I was both unsatisfied with the product itself and the poor customer service.
I would give zero-terrible scam dress company
I would give zero, but cannot. They are a terrible company with terrible customer service. I have been waiting for a refund, now they are offering a store credit. I do not want a store credit, I want my money back. I also tried cancelling a dress and they sent it anyway. Stay away from this company, a total scam!!!! Terrible quality dresses too.
What a rip off
What a rip off! I bought a dress which the sleeves are too long and looks better on online than in actuality. Who in this day and age of online shopping would think that you could not get a refund when the sizing does not fit you when ordered on line and not be able to fit like you do in the store. Be warned that they do not do a full refund but only a store credit. Store credit as if you actually fitted it in the store! Some items are even charged $25 for handling fee. Not to mention the amount you pay for shipping. A scam is what I would call it. Consumer services Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection should be made aware of these unfair business practices.
The dress is okay- the color looks nice…
The dress is okay- the color looks nice against my complexion- but it has a funny smell, and the material is cheap; however, the size fits me-I don’t have to do much altering- if any. I ordered an xs and I am 5’1 (almost 5’2), and around 118-120lbs. It’s true to color but definitely not worth 80 dollars- maybe $30. I understand why they don’t accept returns, but only in-store credit- they probably have a lot of disappointed customers.
Forget About a Return
I really wanted to love shopping at Baltic Born, but the return and exchange process is a major letdown. Be aware before you buy: you cannot exchange items. If something doesn’t work out, you have to return it, wait for a store credit, and then repurchase the item yourself hoping it's still in stock.
What’s worse is that they won’t honor any previous discounts or free shipping, so you’ll end up paying those again when you reorder. That means if you bought something with a promo code or during a free shipping period, too bad you’re out of luck.
And forget about getting your money back. Returns are only accepted for store credit, no exceptions. It really makes the whole experience frustrating and inconvenient. I won’t be shopping here again unless they seriously improve their policies.
I wish I read these reviews before I…
I wish I read these reviews before I purchased a dress . The dress was nice but a bit too small. The return policy is so bad. I knew it was for store credit but I purchased with a first time buyer discount which you are not allowed to use on your next purchase. I want to get the exact item in a larger size. Not to mention having to pay the shipping fee again. This company is not customer friendly. There are so many online clothing sites that make it easy to buy and return that there is no need to shop here honestly.
I would rank them as a 0 if I could
I would rank them as a 0 if I could. I purchased a dress that fabric wasn’t worth the price. I also PAID $3.98 so I could return the dress since I had never ordered from them (additional fee to return). When I received it, I did not like it and was too big. So I filed for a return and they sent me a note that they could not return this because someone had filed a damage complaint on the order. I showed that this was not me but they said they could not return (was within 10 days of receiving the dress). I had to file with my credit card for refund. I will never order from them and would recommend buyer beware.
Purchased two (expensive) dresses only…
Purchased two (expensive) dresses only to find the fabric and cut of them are not how they were depicted on their website - Beautiful dresses but this time and the time prior they NEVER fit as shown on their website. The cut and/or proportions are usually OFF. They have cut corners in the fabric department in the past couple of years - Feel cheaper than prior.
I also think the “store credit only” is RIDICULOUS, when this is not a store front, and you cannot go anywhere to try the items on prior to buying?!! TOTAL RIP OFF!!!
RETURN POLICY NOT BLATANTLY CLEAR
It is common practice to order several dresses at once from an online vendor. This vendor should be much more straight forward with their "no refund" policy. A very shady business practice IMO
CANT RETURN FOR YOUR MONEY BACK!!
YOU CANT RETUN ITEMS FOR YOUR MONEY BACK EVEN THOUGH IT STATES “FREE RETURNS” WHICH IS VERY MISLEADING. YOU CAN ONLY RETURN FOR STORE CREDIT WHICH THE RETURN SHOULD STATE “FREE EXCHANGE” SCAM.
My wife is not happy!
Only Order if You Know You Will Like the Item
The dress I ordered was fine. Their return policy is terrible. They offer this "package protection]," which seems like it allows for free returns. However, all it does is offer insurance on the shipping. They do not offer refunds, only in-store credit. This was not clear during the checkout process. Not recommended.
The wonderful selection of dresses
The wonderful selection of dresses! The designs and colors were outstanding! Would highly recommend too family and friends!
‼️ Buy package protection‼️
My package got lost and if I hadn’t bought package protection, I’d be out $100 with no dress. Ordered on 3/13 for my baby’s first birthday party, which was on 4/6, didn’t get a dress til 4/16. Plan accordingly.
Customer service was a 6/10 experience. It took them 4 days to confirm they would be sending me a new dress from when I followed the link to make a claim.
In terms of the dress itself, I’m 5’8” and the dress is STILL way too long. So not only did I not get to wear it for the occasion I bought it for, it doesn’t fit right and will need to be hemmed if I ever plan to wear it in the future. At least it looks like the photo online.
