Incompetent amitures. I had an account with Bankwest for roughly 6 months. After it was closed, I couldn't access the online portal for anything, most importantly for my bank statements. After calli... See more

SLOW CUSTOMER SERVICE
If I could give them a zero, I would.
Bankwest is a pain to deal with and customer service is extremely slow.
To close an account that has a zero balance, you have to go through a whole ID process which takes up a lot of time. You can't close the account through online banking if you're not identified properly.
NO SERVICE!!
APPALLING AND FRUSTRATING experience. As I haven't used my debit card for the last two years I forgot my password. When I tried to obtain a replacement debit card with our existing account, since the bank has no branches, I had to phone them. At this stage I had been put on hold for 3 hours and I still have not been able to speak to anyone Still not sorted!!! Still waiting!!!
BANKWEST
I have been with Bankwest for years and years,Savings Account and Credit Card, I have had a Credit Card Limit from the Start I, wanted to buy articles with my Credit Card it would be more than my Limit so I rang them up spoke one person they put me through to somebody that does that type of thing then the bombshell they cannot do right now it would be after Christmas surely that would be easy, all they need to do is check they my details which have in front of them so easy.
So bang goes Christmas presents thanks Bankwest, so if you want to do the same. BEWARE!!!!!
Merry Christmas to all the NICE People
Insulting tone over the phone
Stuffed up my credit card application which incurred me extra costs in foreign fees. The person on the phone had edginess in their voice and sort of insulting tone throughout. Kept on interrupting me during the call and kept asking for surveys.
Rubbish company
Rubbish company. Charge extra 5000+ on my loan account while loan has been offset by fair amount of money. they automatically remove offset on loan account when settlement date is booked, simply send bank email instead of personal email(who will check bank email?) to notify, if your settlement is delayed, you will be charged way much more than you shouldn't. When I talked with senior product team, you know what they said? "It's not our mistake, no refund". Think about this shitty management!
No Physical Banks anymore
No Physical Banks anymore. Have had to call The Call Centre (based in India) to try and update a new telephone number (was told there would be a 3 day turnaround for a callback due to supposed suspicious behaviour on my account. Even though I provided adequate ID???
They also promote that you can withdraw and deposit at The Commonwealth Bank. However now Commonwealth Bank are charging $3 per withdrawal transaction.
Absolute Joke
worst bank on the face of the planet
worst bank on the face of the planet, have you ever wanted a bank that insults you and provides no customer service? then this is the bank for you. hold your pay hostage, blames everyone else including you for the issue and takes zero responsibility. APRA complaint lodge, they will have a field day with this
Is now the worst bank in the world !!! Don't go near them !!!
Is now the worst bank in the world. Customer service doesn't exist. Be warned ... anyone looking to go to this bank ...DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM. THEY COULDN'T BE MORE TERRIBLE IF THEY TRIED. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!
Massive wait for online chat
Online waiting to a reply for a chat session for half an hour. Can't leave the keyboard, can't even do anything else or I might miss a reply from them. When you can actually get to a person the service team are great, but the cost cutting means that it is a massive waste of time dealing with the bank as a whole. They are going "all digital" but are the least capable of doing this move.
Reliable convenient banking
I've been with Bankwest for over 15 years, using their credit cards and home loans for both my residence and investment properties. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
**Credit Cards**: Bankwest offers a good range of options and their customer service is always helpful.
**Home Loans**: Competitive rates and flexible options have made the process straightforward, with knowledgeable advisors.
**Online Banking and App**: The user-friendly app makes managing accounts, transferring money, and tracking spending easy and convenient.
**Room for Improvement**: I'd love to see an autopay option for credit cards that can be set up directly through the app, without needing to fill out a paper form.
In summary, Bankwest is reliable and convenient. With a few updates, they could make the experience even better.
My experience with BWA has been good
My experience with BWA has been good. Appied for a credit card as it's good value in comparason, emailed off payslips on a Friday and got an SMS advising full approval on Saturday.
I already had a transaction account with them however they weren't my primary bank, there was a glitch where the new account didn't show in the account list but the card was visable. I nessaged them in the app and was fixed in about 30 minutes.
On a different occasion I wanted to clarify how interest free days worked, agin I messaged them and an easy to understand reply within 30 minutes.
I've made them my primary bank and in the 6 months since I've never had issues. I live in Sydney so no branches doesn't worry me - I've not been to any bank branch in years. On the odd occasion I need to deposit I use Australia Post and I see they are going to allow deposits at CBA ATM's shortly.
Poor company
Not only does it take too long to call bankwest customer service but even when you message them they often don't respond.
I messaged them about cash advance fees. No response and so they continue to charge them. Then when they finally respond and you find out what these fees are for and how to avoid them it's too late, you've been charged again. Something fishy in the non response I wonder.
Complaint does nothing.
Avoid bankwest.
Is it any wonder we're all mad as hell and don't want to take it anymore?
Not just the worst bank I have ever had…
Not just the worst bank I have ever had to deal with but just about the worst company I have ever dealt with. I reluctantly gave it one star but would have preferred to give it less. I had to wait for nearly two days to get a call back and the questions they asked about my transfer of funds to repay a loan were invasive to say the least. Once this is done, the account will be closed.
Bankwest
Bankwest. It would be nice to not have to wait on hold for over an hour before I even get to speak to someone. Online chat wants all personal details shared, depending on who is on the chat. I don't do that, for obvious reasons. So, they won't help me. They simply don't have enough staff to actually provide decent customer service. Or is it the type of personalities they hire. I'm so sick of being a loyal customer and in return, not getting the same benefits new customers receive, let alone not being able to get assistance on my existing accounts. I'm doing a lot of research and will close ALL of my accounts asap and go elsewhere. All I want is customer service availability. It's not hard.

Visited Livingston Branch to lodge our Mothers EPA. Told system down go elsewhere. Asked if they could call and find branch that was not affected. Reply ‘do it yourself’. Eventually got a 1300 number no success. Again cannot help you. Livingston Branch’s service a disgrace. Eventually went Southlands. Had to wait about 3 minutes to be served. What a turn around. Young lady who served us knew exactly what we wanted. Over and above in assisting us in the document, advice as to follow up. Thankyou Southlands can teach Livingston staff how a branch should be run and how great your customers.

I applied for a personal loan for a small amount and got declined. Don’t know why. They couldn’t tell me when I asked. I was very disappointed as I have been a customer of Bankwest for 34 years. They never reached out to me about the loan within 2 working days as it says. I rang 6 times in 3 weeks then they declined me. I went to another bank and got a loan in 3 days. I will never recommend Bankwest for anything. Bad service.

Applied for a credit card and was declined and had no explanation as to why when I rang them. Customer service was very unhelpful and sounded super judgy and didn’t wanna help at all after trying to call to attempt to rectify any issues. I was then transferred to her “coworkers” who usually deals with declined application and was got hanged up on.
Obviously going to affect my very clean credit history because of my mistake of not reading their reviews prior. Super disappointed at myself and was also not surprised coming to know that they this is associated with one of the big 4.
I applied and asked for a limit of $6,000 and they declined me with a very vague email and had $10,000 written on it. Literally, a 3 paragraph email.
I have now applied for a $6,000 with another bank and they have offered me more but I am just needing the card to get points and to keep building my credit score up.
I also kindly asked them to delete my info as I do not want them to keep any of my info since I won’t have any relationship with them and they did not want to do that. Understandable there are laws around anti money laundering and what not but atleast delete some info. Seeing big companies getting attacked by hackers and all. The complaints manager just sent me another email saying they are closing the case. P.S this time it was more than 3 paragraphs.
I COULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND BANKWEST IN MY LIFE.
Abysmal customer service
I get the fact that it's the week before Christmas, but customer service out of BankWest has been just as bad as NAB which must rate way down near the bottom of the pile. No response to my Bankmail, no one picking up the phone, now resorting to texting without much luck. Same old multi-week response timelines to simple problems. It shouldn't be that hard. Just answer the phone for once.
Wouldn't recommend
Wouldn't recommend, missed a minimum on the cc by a week (was overseas) and despite paying the whole outstanding within the fortnight they trashed my credit file
Worst customer service ever - avoid Bankwest at all costs!!
I have had an account with bankwest for about 15 years. Never had a reason to contact them until I forgot the password to my account. On the call for over an hour answering a bazillion questions, I couldn’t remember the nickname to my account so I ‘failed’ vertification. Transferred to someone else, she told me I would need to send a handwritten letter with various ID and she would respond within 24 hours. That day I sent through my Irish & Australia passport, my two bankwest cards, my Irish & Australian drivers licences, my Medicare card, and the handwritten letter. It’s been over a week, I’ve called back twice and sent follow up emails, and heard nothing back. The woman I spoke to yesterday told me there is a huge backlog due to the new verification process - what type of process is this that someone can send through every type of ID known to man and still not be provided with access to their account. As soon as I do get access, I will be promptly shutting my account and telling all I know about this absolutely dire experience. Stay well clear!!!
